Anyone seen this movie? We just rented it on DVD - through the whole movie I kept saying, "OMG how did they DO that?" Probably one of the coolest mixes of CGI and live action I've ever seen. The red queen (Helena Bonham Carter) with her huge head and the knave (Crispin Glover) with his long skinny arms and legs were really impressive.

I'm a graphic designer and I have friends who do 3D and so I've always been interested in CGI and 3D animation - I know how hard it is to get certain effects. I look at early computer animation and CGI that was so impressive when it first came out and now it's laughable. But when they do it right....I remember the first time I saw Shrek, there was one scene where they're standing in a field, and the wind blew and all the leaves of grass moved independently. It only lasted a couple of seconds, but that one scene just blew me away.

There were a couple of scenes in Alice that were so-so and the plot and storyline were a little meh, but the characters were all great and the effects...absolutely amazing.

Yea she did...the part I liked the most when they called the Red Queen. Bloody Big Head LOL!

My fave was Ann Hathaway doing her white queen dainty hand thing - getting the Jabberwocky's blood and almost throwing up....she's a funny funny girl! Imagine walking around all day with your hands up in the air like that. And the part with Crispin Glover..."but SHE was coming on to ME..."

And of course Johnny Depp - love him! We just did a 'Pirates' marathon, all 3 movies back to back. Hence the change in siggy - it was either that or "Why is the rum always gone." lol.

The whole entire movie was awesome, I wouldn't mind watching it again and again..

My favorite line was her name is Ummmm idiot!! from the red queen and everyone knows she's the idiot...movie was awesome!!

Doesn't do me any good since we don't have BluRay.

I never took the time to think about how much effort must have gone into making this movie but now I can appreciate it so much more. The cat was definitely pretty neat and so was that big scary dog that Alice made friends with.
There was a special movie on the tv that came out before the release of the actual Alice and Wonderland movie in theaters that I really, really loved! I cannot remember what channel it aired on but it was sooo good.

The people were brought to Wonderland to get their emotions sucked out of them while they experienced winning casino games. Then they bottled the emotions and sold them lol. Has anyone else seen this one?

Had to edit this because I just looked it up and it was a Mini Series on the SyFy channel called Alice. Not sure if it's something for the guys but I am sure all women would really enjoy it :)

Saw it when it came out in 3D.
I liked it a lot but I did want a little more out of it, don't ask me what more or why. I think my expectations were high because it was Tim Burtons baby.

That being said it was a great cast and Alan Rickman rocked the catapillar!
(No need to say Depp was great too, but Depp could be playing a dog turd laying on the ground fermenting and I would probably love it:lolup:).

PS- I forgot who said they just did the Pirates marathon but I wanted to say I am right there with ya! I can watch those movies over and over. One night I was even watching Pirates/Black Pearl in spanish on Telemundo (I don't know spanish btw), my family was laughing at me:mad:.

3D was the Bomb...

I thought the 3D in Alice was better than Avatar's.

Yeah I still don't get the whole Avatar phenom, it was OK but nothing earth shattering as far as I am concerned.
Cameron must gave a horseshoe up his ass...
