Account hacking?...

Thanks for the link

I used the Housecall linked. It found about 20 different things which it suggested deleting. I just hit the button and let it go to town. I really am not sure what they all were but a few of them were apparently from casinos which I deleted long ago and hadn't played for many months. Hopefully this will help to resolve the issue. Best of all, it was all free so thanks again for the suggestions and link.

I have been away for a few days (gambling of course...in Atlantic City) but did receive a reply from Risk Mangagement at Yukon Gold as follows:

"All we can tell you at the moment is that it appears to have been played from the same physical machine as you usually play from. Unfortunately as it was your network that was hacked into, we cannot assist or advise you any further in tracking down what happened."

Thankfully there has been no further troubles with any other accounts.
From my own perspective as an amateur in the field of computers I think it ocurred via my wireless connection (I am now on solid broadband connection:))

Of COURSE it would look as if they were coming from your "computer". They're looking at the MAC ADDRESS OF THE ROUTER, not your computer. Since this person came in from your network, obviously they're going to have the same mac address.

They CAN further assist you in tracking this down, by providing the DATE(S) AND TIMES that this event occurred, so you can check it against your logs.

They really need to get a clue, and fast; because obviously they don't have a clue about network security.

Dates and times would probably be available from Playcheck.

If the hacker went through the router, they are local, possibly a neighbour, however, there are those who drive around looking for insecure networks, and hacking in from a vehicle parked nearby. Once in, they could have retrieved data from any connected machine on the network, and used it.

WHY they would simply gamble a small balance to zero and go away beats me, I would start looking more locally, such as any visitors to the property that know you gamble, teenage children, aggrieved ex, etc.
