I read on this site everyday. I see new member joining this group. Welcome to all. I always like new members imput as well as old members.
I want to go down memory lane a bit and ask where are some of our older members? such as Robwin, Pinya, Mousey, Cynthial . Babs, Me and Ed. Rusty, Same-old, xoxoxooxo and Amatrine? I know there are others as well but these came to my mind. Could it be they no longer gamble or life moves on in genreral?
I just wanted to say i think about the good old days when slots paid better and old members like the ones mentioned were posting here. :)

same-old still posts once in a while as does mousey and xoxoxoxoxo. me_and_ed pops in once in a while also. Pinababy and Robwin haven't posted in a long time, due to disagreements over certain threads.

It was a lot more fun (not saying some of the newbies aren't entertaining ;)), but there wasn't nearly as much "conspiracy" crap and notions of rigged games, etc. I think about alot of them from time to time also, and hope that life is treating them well.

Ohh well, life moves on...

oh well that clears up a few that i been missing. i think kakata was banned . its to bad as they had lots of imput to offer. but rules are rules and have to be followed.

This is just the ebb and flow of forum life; some folks stick around and others move on for any number of reasons.

Among them may be a change in interests; a need to voice their thoughts in other venues; distaste for the manner in which other posters present their views or even an intolerance for those views.

It's not unknown for some of them to just want to be asked not to leave ;)

Whatever the reason, its a prerogative all of us (other than the ones that bring bans upon themselves!) enjoy.

New members are always good to see because they present new perspectives and are often very entertaining and informative.

wow i just read the thread posted and noticed there were a few old members even posting in johns thread that i had forgotten about. dominque and tennis balls. i remember them . :)

Hiya Reda

I'm still around mate but not as much as I used to.

This is due to a bigger work load and the baby really is coming into his own now days.

Full of beans so instead of playing sots online I now go to the park with Ben's bike and or kite.
Most of my free time is with him now days and wouldnt ask for it any different.

I pop in nearly everyday to catch up on things (pokerstars thing being the latest).

Thanks for thinking of me matey and all the best.

Regards,

Same_old

good to hear from you same old. i know a little one can make time fly by. :) i have a 2 yr grand baby and when hes with me its all fun and games. no comp time.

Pina's still knocking around online. I like that you called her an "old member" though. She looks pretty good for her age :D

I reckon - gambling being such an emotional topic - that the thru-put of members will always be higher than on many forums. It attracts emotional posters and inevitably you get rows, bannngs, self-exclusions etc, plus many will give up gambling for whatever reason at some point and have no reason to visit anymore.

Another reason for this I've noticed is that for some forum members, particularly the very active ones, there seems to be a natural evolution that takes them away: they mature as scene participants, want to see things done their way or want their own piece of the action and that often means they either need to advance within the forum itself (become a Mod, or whatever) or split off to start something of their own. In other words they "graduate" beyond their original position on the forums and simply need to move on. I've seen this happen time and again over the years.

There's also the few that rise up, demand a lot of attention, flame out and move on to other things. Seen that a few times over the years too. ;)

Astute observations, Max!

*waving* I'm still here. I haven't played online in almost 2 years so there's not a lot for me to whine about . :D

I do put my 2 cents in every now and then -- like with the stupid DOJ and the poker rooms mess.

:) oh by saying old members i meant old members as of long time members. not so much age wise. hope no one took offense.
