A nice gift to come home to!

What we DIDN'T know was that this was a problem gambler talking! In fact, without his creditable honesty we STILL wouldn't know it. Tim has lost a lot of money here, but we don't (or rather, didn't) get that, only the bonus bit. Tim is not trying to deceive anyone, but deceptiveness there inevitably is because we only see a fraction of the picture.

 WTF planet are you from anyway? What one person considers alot of money and time spent gambling may work perfectly well with another individual. I have always stated that Ed Ware came on the scene and stated his concern that maybe I was gambling a bit much, but in my circumstances financially and being single, other than the amount of time spent in doing so, I wasn't in the dire straits of addiction and hoplessness that you try to portray. You obviously have a bone to pick with 32red, and anything or anyone that represents 32red in your eyes. Why don't you lay it to rest and take your bitter, negative, twisted and unhappy soul somewhere else. You're obviously a pathetic and unhappy person whose life is constituted by nothing more than endless bunches of sour grapes that you're determined to force-feed down everyone else's throat. Why don't you go and kick the dog... or give your wife a nice backhand to the head or do whatever it takes to unload some of that bitterness, because nobody here wants your trash.

Caruso, what's wrong with you? From what I read,Tim could have developed into a problem gambler but Ed Ware tried to prevent it. So what's all this saying about a problem gambler talking and 'deceptive advertising'. If more casino managers could take the hint of Ed and rendered them to gamble with their money more responsibly, there wouldnt be such an outcry in many countries against online gambling. As I said in an earlier post, there is nothing wrong in Tim singing his praises for 32 Red. Give the guy a break.

Jeez, people, give it a rest, or else take a rest elsewhere.

I am confident that Ed Ware would not stoop to any underhanded tactics such as feeding compulsive gamblers free bonuses. This accusation is just plain ridiculous.

That being said, I would like to know how you, Caruso, can judge Tim's circumstances without actually encountering this person in real life. As someone else has pointed out, there is an underlying agenda here and to be frank it has no merit. There are many more operators in this business that are far, far more deserving of your vitriol.

Now Ed, where's that candy you promised me? ;)

Yes but, is your glass half empty or half full?

LOL, Bryan, half empty - can't deny it. Guilty as charged. :)

Tim - just give it a rest with those personal insults right now, thank you. I applauded your honesty, and my remarks are based on what you posted. if what you posted is incorrect, I can't help that. I'm not insulting you, so quit dishing it out on me. I can give it too, if you're interested, but methinks Bryan would be none too happy.

Ted - there is no "agenda"; lol, how many times have I heard that? And how many times must I repeat "I will retract any remarks not based on fact or reasonable argument", or similar comments? My above comments were based around the matter of only partial knowledge of a situation - Tim's bonuses - allowing us to form a potentially unbalanced judgement of that situation. Those remarks had nothing to do with 32Red other than 32Red being the casino where the freebies were granted, so how an "anti-Red agenda" could somehow be inferred, or ANY agenda come to that, is a mystery to me.

My comments regarding Tim's gambling are based on the following - relevant text highlighted:

Ed Ware and I have a history that goes back a few years, and I was pretty much a regular player at 32Red since I had signed up with them at that time. During that period of time, I got into playing way over my head, and after a few months of spending alot more money on gambling than I should have been, Ed contacted me with great concern that maybe I should slow down a bit, and perhaps that I should step back and take a good look at what I was doing to myself. That was a good wake-up call for me because I was certainly getting out of control. Soon after that, Ed and I decided that the best thing to do was to set a spending limit for me so that I wouldn't get myself into any trouble.

Is this not to be interpreted as a gambling problem? If not, what is? If I ever got into gambling "way over my head", getting "out of control", and required any kind of a "wake up call" from anyone, I would consider myself - if I could rationalize in those circumstances - as having a gambling problem; wouldn't you?

I am perplexed that anyone could interpret it any other way, but whatever, I'm easy; if it's not evidence of a problem, so be it, LOL.

Actually, as one of my pet dislikes, I find this an interesting subject. I recall Ted, Cindy & I locked horns on the same matter a while back at WOL, in those days when said trio could discuss anything at said venue. :)

Ed's decision was to deny me an increase in depositing limits for now, but he also said he would reconsider it at a later date. He was also concerned that my feelings may have been hurt by his decision, and for compensation for his denial, he said " I have put a nice gift in your casino account for any hard feelings I may have caused!" !

Getting things back on track before they turn ugly.

Great tale tim5ny.

Shows respect for fellow human beings runs deep and is not always subject to the mighty dollar, as the more cynical would have us believe.

Can't keep the good guys down, that is why 32RED and Intercasino et al will continue to rise to the top.

Only probs with 32RED is that they won't make me a member of Club Rouge and their casino is currently trying to melt my CPU!

Mitch

Whatever motives you attribute to Tim's post (I happen to think they were genuine thanks for a nice gesture) I think the wealth of player accolades (have to hold my hands up and plead guilty on this) speaks volumes about 32Red. There's nothing deceptive about players posting their genuine, positive experiences. More should be inferred from that about the casino's integrity, than the fact that Tim was given a bonus bankroll to play with.

Going back a few posts in this thread, I wrote that I would shed more light on the circumstances "even at the risk of discrediting myself a bit" :o Well there you have it!, and if I didn't do a good enough job of discrediting myself, someone else did their damnest to get the job done for me. I want to thank everyone who contributed. I guess we saw many different kinds of responses, but that's what make the world such a colorful place. This will be my last addition to this particular thread... but don't count me out of that Winner's screenshot thread sometime in the not too distant future I hope!

You said there was "an underlying agenda"; I pointed out that since my remarks were based on Tim's comments there is no evidence of any "agenda". I even highlighted the relevant comments.

Whenever my comments are seen as "anti-Microgaming" I get accused of having an "agenda". My "agenda" is then curiously lacking when I come out against Gambling Federation, Royal Dutch, Angelciti, Hampton, Reef Club, Giant Vegas and many more.

Funny that.

I rest mine, too.

Same goes for smokers - smoking fucks up your health. If you're in bad health, you shouldn't smoke. But look at the cigarette advertising - bitchin' looking people doing really cool things. Tell me that ain't deceptive. I think people who smoke look stupid (sorry smokers :D). And I bet I could outrun, out-jump, out-anything physical any smoker who is half my age. Read the friggin' label - tar and carbon monoxide are sucked into your lungs with each inhalation!! It's staring you in the face!

And if you can't handle your booze, you shouldn't drink. When have you ever seen a beer commercial depict someone totally wasted??
Smoking CAN fuck up your health, as exhaust fumes from vehicles, factories, etc., don't mean it will.

What the hell, we all are going to die, so why not just enjoy what little there is in life to enjoy, or at least do what you want to do, that isn't breaking any major laws, small ones in my opinion are ok :D

On the beer commercials, maybe they are trying to get the message out that you don't have to get 'wasted', just 3 or 4 beers while socializing...?

I'm sorry, but you people who are always making remarks about smokers piss me off highly! No one EVER makes remarks of the pollution vehicles emits, factories, electric companies, it's ALWAYS the smokers that gets mentioned.

I've never read a thread at this site that was so loaded with things that were written, which were taken out of context :what:

Interesting reading.

As a sidenote (and sorry for being guilty of promoting 32Red), after being a part of the online gaming community for over 4 years, I received my very FIRST phone call from a casino rep tonight. I've played at over 160 casino's, and this is a first!!! All I can say, is that at this moment, I'm quite fond of the aggressive approach (person-to-person) taken by Pat Harrison over at said casino. It was a civilized and progressive conversation, and I respect his outlook on the gaming community and how much it means to those who run 32Red.

I haven't a clue which casino's feel that respect, reputation, and earning the right to win over the player on a consistent basis is the most important thing, but it's certainly a part of 32Red's agenda. I agree that no casino is perfect, but this casino is the best at limiting their weaknesses, putting the players needs first AS MUCH AS THEY CAN while still trying to maintain a profitable business.

They ain't quick-buck artists, they're in this thing for the long-haul.

You shouldn't take what BassMeister said so whole-hearted.You are absolutely right that exhaust fumes from vehicles, factories etc. can indeed fuck you up and you are also right that everyone mentions smokers first and then all the rest but isn't that something to be expected when smokers and smoke is what we face so frequently in our life? I have to agree that people who smoke are dumb asses and that because they are doing something which is known that fucks you up so in a sense they are 'stupid'.
