Bonus Complaint 888 locks my account after wagering. deposit returned 1200 profit gone!

hi everyone,

this is my first post here, found this forum after googling for my problems with 888.com.

I signed up and got the 140 euro bonus after making a deposit. I mostly play Blackjack and not really read the T&C very carefull. Got lucky on BJ but after reading the T&C again saw that BJ doesn't count that much for the wagering requirement... (only like 5% i think?)

So i continued to wager on slots and was so lucky to don't loose that much on the slots, even made a gain on it! Very lucky me:notworthy:notworthy

After finishing my wagering i uploaded my Drivers licence to pre-approve my account for withdrawal. Documents got approved by email and couple of days later tried to login to cashout my balance. To my surprise my account was temporarily locked!
This was on 14th of august, immediately sent an email but got no response (they have 72 hours time frame to respond). Got no response, sent a new email on 21th of August, also no reply at all.

Today i sent another email asking what is going on and asked: "Where are you licensed so i can file an complaint regarding your way of working?"

Suddenly i have a reply within 2 hours saying this: (why can i they reply suddenly within 2 hours....?? because i ask where i can file an complaint??)
"We have taken the decision to end your membership with ourselves.

This decision was taken after a detailed review of your game play. Our review revealed that you are employing a gaming strategy in order to maximize the return from your game play, and the amount of bonuses you receive. This is against our Terms and Conditions, and we will be revoking your membership due to this.

As a gesture of goodwill due to the delay in responding to you regarding the status of your account, we have now processed a withdrawal of your deposited amount of 140EUR back to your Neteller account."

What can i do? I haven't broken any rule, and what kind of strategie are they talking about.

Should i contact 888.com again or anything else?

The minute you said file a complaint or if any players references complaining, legal action the first words out of their mouth is to close your account, had similar issue with LocoPanda. They did refund back your deposit back but no they are not right and sometimes all we can do is post the evidence and proof and stick by our guns. And go with a casino that wont do crap like this.

So, their "goodwill gesture" is to not steal your deposit - class:(

MOST gamblers will try some kind of strategy, even though most of them are superstitious BS.

Blackjack has a well known "basic strategy", and even slots have a bankroll management strategy, which whilst BS if they are truly random, many players use because they feel that after they have won a fair bit, the slot is programmed to take it back unless they move to another game or withdraw.

The easy way to stop players from "maximising bonuses" is to not give them another one.

Do they still run those Blackjack races, where a "gaming strategy" is ESSENTIAL as you are playing against other players.?

888 is just getting bigger and bigger, and they always seem to get away with everything :)

It creates a serious conflict of interest for the regulator. If they shut 888 down, or drive them to another jurisdiction, by being too harsh, the economy of Gibraltar takes a big hit. This is a problem in many of the small jurisdictions that regulate gambling companies. We get the "tail wagging the dog", and it is a discussion of what the regulators will be allowed to get away with by the industry.

Remember Grand Prive. They changed their software overnight, but in doing so broke the regulatory rules of the KGC. They faced a stiff telling off and a fine, so they simply "did a runner" from the KGC and set up elsewhere, leaving the KGC powerless other than to go through the motions of revoking their license. Now, 888 are MASSIVE, and Gibraltar just cannot afford to have them jump ship. The bigger 888 get, the harder they are to regulate effectively. I expect the LGA have the same problem, which is why they won two CM awards for being the most ineffective regulatory authority in the EU.

Yeah LGA is a joke :) What have they every done for a player?

You make it sound that they could up sticks overnight like Grand Prive if they wanted. :D. 888 were pretty big when they moved to Gibraltar from Antigua and that was a process that took many months, back in 2004 I think. Their comms room back then had enough space for 100 server racks. I got shown around it, before they populated the racks.

I think in fairness you are doing Gibraltar a bit of a disservice. Also whilst 888 are a fairly large employer of staff on the Rock, if they were to move, or indeed any other gaming company were, the impact on the local population would be short lasting. In other words, there are pretty much more positions to fill than there are staff.

Staff are always moving between gaming companies as a result.

If so, why are these small jurisdictions afraid to act firmly in the players' interests, the people they are supposedly there for?

Glad I read this series of posts they'd probably accuse my skill of building up a quid into 80-100quid as strategic even though they say slots are random. I don't play blackjack would they give the same bull if you used a strategy at video poker what a joke! best plan is play at casinos that never question gameplay unless the bonus specified you can't use table games to wager bonuses. Comeon, ladbrokes, unibet and Mrgreen I highly reccomend! Hope nobody else has an experience like this its truly dreadful!

Best thing is to never play with bonuses.
