I just stumbled across 5dimes.com bonus casino which appears to offer several games with player edges. I didn't find much when searching for them in the forum, except for some bonus and software issues from years ago. They posted an audit of their software by the Wizard of Odds, but that was from over three years ago. This seems too good to be true, because I imagine more people would be talking about it if their games were fair and they paid out. Has anyone played here recently? Is it a reputable casino?

Was emailed a 100% offer to signup.... I wouldnt even touch it with YOUR neteller account.

I have no info to support this however, just dont trust new casinos in general, or ones I havent heard much about.

I have to agree with ddice. If they're not posting CURRENT audit information, I'd run far, far away, very, very fast :)

That, plus the screenshot links for the games come back broken...

And in addition, has anyone looked at their JoB payout tables??? I'm not really a VP player, but even I can see they're quite a joke....not even close to 4000 coins for a RF.

Awhile back I looked at their games and couldn't find one that gave a player advantage. Which game(s) are you referring to?

I almost forgot the obvious here....why would a [reputable] casino offer games, let alone advertise them, as having a player advantage?

according to SBR, 5 Dimes has a good rep as a sportsbook........i'm not sure how their bonus casino works, but you can't just open an account and start playing in their bonus casino (which has much better odds than their regular casino)

I opened an account but I haven't funded it yet. I was able to login to the bonus casino and open games to verify that they have paytables which are favorable to the player. I don't know if there is some type of restriction on putting money into the bonus casino, but so far it seems like anyone can sign up.

Edit: I haven't looked into every game, but I know there are some VP games with +EV paytables. The bonus days promotions for Pai Gow poker is also +EV, and I assume the 2-1 BJ game is also profitable, but I don't know how to figure out the house edge when you can't double at all.

The Pai Gow poker game is excellent for clearing WRs as there are a lot of pushes especially if you set your hands well. However, you are deducted 5% as commission for every hand you win and your lower hand (without a pair) are normally prone to pushes which means you lose the lower hand resulting in either a loss or at most a push for the whole hand. If there is +EV on bonus days does that mean they have lowered the WRs?

There were a couple of VP games at intercasino that are quoted as having been certified as having more than 100% payouts.

Blackjack that pays 2-1= COOL, however they dont allow any double downs.... uh, NOT COOL. I am no mathmatician, but I am guessing this actually helps the HA.

X-Tech software about which I know very little, other than it was in a partnership with an outfit called Digital Solutions at one time. Noticed and logged them about 4 years back when they claimed to be operating out of Costa Rica, so they have managed to stay in business for at least that.

I would be leery if they are displaying a software verification that is 3 years old, which is what the certificate from Mike Shackleford they have up on their site would suggest.

I decided to take a risk and put in $50 to play some VP. I got lucky and hit four deuces pretty quickly, so I'll try cashing out a little of the money and see if I get paid before I spend too much more time here.

At 5Dimes we strive to give our customers the finest and most updated software to ensure statistical fairness in all our gaming venues. The following is an independent audit on the xtech gaming software we currently use for our Bonus Casino.

Mathematical Audit Of The Following Software:
XTECH
May 25, 2003

Check out the calendar - it's 2006 and it's been that way for nearly nine months now. If 5Dimes isn't being proactive in seeking further third party involvement, why take a risk?

I ve registered an account with them although I haven't deposited yet. Their site seems nice and they have nice support. I was really curious about their games and their different casinos. I asked the casino manager about the software providers of their games and here is the answer I got :

Tony: the BonusCasino is supplied by DigitalGamingSolutions
Tony: the JavaCasino is supplied by Gametime Software
Tony: the CashBackCasino is supplied by BLR Technologies
Tony: we're adding the JackpotCasino on Tuesday, it will be supplied by AST Gaming

I only know DGS (nine casino uses them too). The BLR offers casino games that are awful.... The video games of 95' were better. I didn't manage to log in to the JAva Casino.

They offer almost 40 versions of BJ and many variations of the same game in bonus casino. I guess that the DGS software is fully customizable and they can alter the rules of every game. I really do not know if in the bonus casino a player can in fact has an edge in a game. I also didn't manage to understand why the offer 3 ( and in a few days 4...) different softwares to their customers.... I have not seen anywhere till now.

More information from someone who plays regurarly there will be interesting.

ioannis: Apparently the 2003 is a mistake, right??
ioannis: If not what you present there about mathematically tested games
ioannis: is nonsense
Fred: let me check, just a moment please
ioannis: ok. 2003 was more than 3 years ago... If the last test of your games was then I really wonder why you still present it... It's bad advertisement, not good...
ioannis: But I wait...
Fred: yes it seems like it's a little bit misleading,
Fred: but under no circumstance was the last test over 3 years ago.
Fred: it's just not possible,
Fred: I'll slip a note to our Internet department to see if they can take a look at it
Fred: so that we can avoid any confusion
ioannis: Ok.
Fred: and thank you very much for pointing that out
ioannis: Ok. Thanks and bye!
Fred: you're welcome
Fred: have a great day

It would really surprise me if they were to post audits from the month after the audit in 2003 through Aug 2006. From a marketing standpoint, it'd be retarded to claim they're audited and not post current information.

I don't understand why they have about 500 flavors of each game in the bonus part. That's pretty much like playing a home game of poker......2's, 4's, 6's, 8's, and one eye'd jacks are wild...but only at night, on a Tuesday....you get the idea. :D

If this really is a mistake, they should correct it immediately and give you a ND bonus for pointing this out.

That's a mess of different softwares for one site.

BTW AST was once the Russian software outfit who's former company name eludes me at present.

Very interesting.

Looking at the video poker in the Bonus casino, I ran several game options through WinPoker, and they all returned between 100.0% and 100.25%. Seems like a good concept -- no house edge for optimal play, but proper strategy for many games will be so unusual that players will make many mistakes.

However in addition to the more unusual variations, the casino also offers standard full-pay Deuces Wild and Joker Wild, with returns around 100.7%. (This is based on information from the web site. I haven't downloaded yet.) Which makes me wonder if the games can actually be fair.

Regarding the 2-to-1 blackjack game, according to Ken Uston in "Million Dollar Blackjack," removal of the double-down option adds 1.73% to the house edge. This is for a single-deck game, but the numbers shouldn't be much different for multiple decks. Here's the breakdown:

doubling on 11 ... 0.89%
doubling on 10 ... 0.56%
doubling on 9 .... 0.14%
soft doubling .... 0.14%
------------------------
total ............ 1.73%

However in addition to the more unusual variations, the casino also offers standard full-pay Deuces Wild and Joker Wild, with returns around 100.7%.

If it is too good to be true....
But it is very interesting if it indeed is a 'fair' game. You could live from milking this 100.7% game even at the 1$ level (5$ bet).

Somehow this makes me think of Slotland with their fake VP-games that is actually slot-based. Any casino software that is fair would definately attempt to get certified, so this gives another indication of suspecious software.

Zoozie

Bump.
Any updates here? Looks too good to be true. Any trip reports? Any explaination of the "bonus casino" vs "jackpot casino"?

thx.

I played the full pay deuces wild machine for about two weeks in december before they pulled it and I did really well on it. I was betting the max $5 coins ($25/hand) and calculated that it paid about $120/hr using optimal play. I hit a royal there as well. Too bad they took all the +ev casino games away.

Ive been playing at 5dimes for a while and posted some of my wins here. I like the super let it ride that pays 90-1 for four of kind 400-1 for a str flush and 2000 for a royal. Only hit a couple of 4 of a kinds though. I trust 5dimes but have long wondered how they could do this.
