I just tried playing the 10k halloween tournament at 32red. 12,000 coins BUT only 3 minutes to play it !!!!

I managed to get a freespins bonus which took about 1.5 minutes to complete. but by the time i got back to the base game my 3 minutes were almost up. so when the tournament finished i still had 6600 coins left

how can this be fair?

and who's going to pay to continue for another 3 minutes with 9,000 coins??

I also played the avalon tournament 10 whole minutes play time!!

it's fair, because you've the same chance as anyone elee does, working with the same coins and same clock

but a bonus game or freespins eat up the time, and could be a handicap if you don't win a decent amount from them.
and why give 10 or 15 minutes play time for other tournaments?

$250 avalon is a daily tournament

this halloween its a special tournament, may be its because of that??

i have not joined the halloween tournament (yet) lol

From me a BIG NO. Maybe if everyone had Vinylman's top spec computer with all kinds of mods etc then yes it would be fair. But I know for fact there are several players which has special setup so they manage to bang through short time tournaments or where they can get advantage and kill all the coins in quicker time than other players which has not got the best computers in the world or mods for that sake.

I actually years ago found big advantage with a auto click program back in time where you could really speed up that way. So it would mean if I got features then auto click was in all positions so when winnings came it would click past etc.

But back to topic. I feel a great change of rules would do these microgaming tournaments good.

That would be that when hitting a feature to stop time like the bonus feature in Wild witches can take a long time. So think would be fair to stop the time.

The same is in Gold Factory oh man how much time goes when you hit feature and have to do the picks. If a clever change could be made then it would be lot more fun for everyone. I think plenty of time should be added on all tournament. What does it matter if there is 1 hour for that sake? What is reason for such small amount of time. Instead shorten the coins then.

well, for one, it isn't the casino's duty to insure you don't have a twenty year old model of computer with a slow connection
second, the idea is for you to rebuy - casinos want you to run out of time - otherwise, it'd be free, 0 rebuys, no continues
and third, you quoted my first post, not the one where i actually agreed the time should be extended a couple minutes

I agree with the OP that 3 minutes simply is not sufficient to complete the 12,000 coins. I've manually spun by clicking real fast on the Spin button everytime, and still didn't manage to complete it. Not really bothered with it though, after I read that players can continue playing (rebuying) for 999 times?

Don't really see why they call it a Freeroll then, since players who keep re-buying will obviously accumulate more points. I haven't re-buyed yet, but I'll check the standings in another 8 days and then I'll see if it's worth it to spend any money on it. I was 25th 4 hours ago lol

I'd never buy into a turney with that many rebuys - it's just a high-rollers bonanaza, and I've seen too many idiots who'll dump more into it than they get out (really, ive seen people rebuy up to several hundred to win 50, i dont get it)

I'll PLAY a freeroll though - i have been incredibly lucky and placed without any rebuys

as to the 3 minutes, sure it's a sucky play session - but it tells you going in, so it isnt a surprise what youre getting

Exactly, that's what I thought! That's why I've choose to take another peak the last day and see if it makes any sense re-buying.

The tournaments that you actually pay money for your initial buy-in do seem to give you a generous amount of time, where most of these freerolls do not. I suspect that the reason for this is to "encourage" players who hit a decent sized feature or two, thinking they're off to a good start, to spend that extra $1-$3 just to use up the rest of those pesky chips and see how they do.

While it may be a bit cynical of a view to think that these time limits are intentionally low for the specific purpose of getting players to spend money that they otherwise would not, I don't see any other good reason for it.

I have wondered what exactly the people who put 100 buy-ins into these do to overcome the time issues. Do they sit there constantly clicking every single win to speed up the count-up, for more than 5 hours? Risk using a bot? Seems like a lot of effort for a payout that doesn't appear too large. Maybe there's some option or simple solution I'm missing.

Why casinos advertise tournaments as free when they, and we, know fine well you almost certainly need to pay for rebuys/continues so you have some possibilty of winning anything is beyond me. Seems kind of wrong when they put it across as being 'free' in the first place:

Well I just played...for free.

Got up to place 30 and I doubt that I will be below a paying place when it finish.
I will not buy any continues, I think, since there will be no point chasing but I will take my $25 with a smile:)

So it is possible to win $25 for free, but not possible for anything more than that.

You know there's another week to go right? I seriously doubt you will be in a paying place come this time next week, assuming you haven't bought any continues by then.

Looking at the top 20 - I can already see people buying their prizes. Some have a balance of 250k coins...

I hate the MG 'Free' style tournaments and Id think that someone would listen to players and stop advertising as such.

When I got the email, I thought 32red did... clearly not..

Well i suppose Casinos are in this business to make money and not hand it out for free.

Annoyingly misleading is all i can say.

They are and we all know it.

What we here maybe should remember is that this discussion comes up every time they are having these kind of tournaments.

We should not forget though that they also use to have tournaments for just us in here. Those times there are just giving the money out to please us.
With no buy ins or continues.
When remembering that I have a hard time blaming them for this :)

You're absolutely spot on...

People complain because they advertise it incorrectly. Do it properly, and there wont be complaints in all fairness.

Hi All,

Thanks for your feedback on the time, we will ensure there is more time allocated next time, it's the first time we have used the new Lucky Witch tournament so the feedback is appreciated.

With regards to 'incorrect advertising' I'm sorry but I don't share this opinion. Out of interest I checked the last freeroll that we did with a similar structure, there were many people in the top 100 places who didn't buy a single add-on and had cash added to their account - for free. Granted the top spots had bought addons, but I guess that's their choice.

Thanks for the reminder regarding CM specific tournaments, we haven't done one of those for a while and I will certainly set one up soon.

As always, we appreciate the feedback, thanks for taking the time to post.

Regards,
Mark

I also played this1. :D It was a bit fun in the start, but then i just got in a hurry to try to play all the coins... I still had some when the 3 mins ended.
Its a free tourney, so was good anyway. I ended up in a good spot, but then people started to rebuy & i saw my name crashing down quickly...

I thought about getting rebuys when i saw that, but managed to hold myself from it. :p

3 mins was to short. 5 would have been better.

Oh and now it's back. I was busy playing in it and it said it had been cancelled and I got booted. Now it has reappeared.
