These guys were not from rural China.

You've got that right. I liked the nice peaceful tourneys in '05...seems kids with too much free time and no concern for others flocked to this one...bitching and moaning and talking shit about how bad one plays after they get a bad beat, etc...Hopefully those will be weeded out in the future :)

They ought to raise the gambling age to OVER 40. I'm getting pretty tired of seeing these snot-nose children type in "unreal, fish, you moron."

Because usually they are talking to ME! :D

Anyone up for a game of Old Maid? :D

Can we make it 30+?? I'm 34! :p

Either way, it's kinda funny to leave chat on and listen to the crap that's going on....as long as it's not enough to put you off your game. Ignoring them is the best medicine for it, especially to keep them ranting and taking the rest of their chips in the process :D

If you don't mind, I have a few ideas of my own I would like to share...

How about a league? Where we have different leagues chalanging one another. We can even call them, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United. :D That will be good for team spirit.

Another idea would be to reward frequent players for their support of the tourney. In other words... You get rewarded for both playing in the tourneys and playing well in tourneys. The reputation points has nothing to do with the fun of the freeroll tourney's, I would much rather want to see that the contribution that the players give towards the forum in the amounts of posts and their attendance to the tourneys would count for them to play in them.

Hi Chatmaster,

Both your ideas are good. Let's see how the other members respond. While there might be merit in using the number of rep points to decide who can enter the freerolls, some of 'em might gang up and earn enough of these rep points to gain entry. How about allowing only those who have a rep power of 2 to enter these freerolls. I understand that this will be relatively harder to get than rep points and I think that most 'true' forum members should have this score.

I think the best way of organising these is the way Chatmaster did them last year. He created an 'allow' list which stopped anybody apart from those on the list from registering for the tourney.

Hi guys I would like to thank you all for the freeroll. I was referred here because of it and actually won it

Anyway CM you have a fantastic site, really glad my friend told me about it (Nafanny29) and will look in often.

Thanks again everyone.

Thanks, everyone :notworthy

I am glad you have such an excellent poker room to play at now but it still brakes my heart... "wipe"

To get back to the idea. I had restrictions in that I had to manage the entire points system from an excel sheet lol aint that funny  anyways. A password tourney is allot better in that you can have late entries play as well, the allow list gave me a few grey hairs extra and I think that should be avoided. From the forum point of view I think that players should make a contribution to the poker section, it is also healthy from the growth of the poker section as that will keep the poker room you are playing at happy as well, but surely we want to grow that part so at the end of the day there is a weekly $500 tourney and a year end $10K tourney. Allot of this depends on the capabilities and restrictions of the forum Bryan is using but I would vote for the following points...
  1. Reputation (points to a degree)
  2. Finishing position in the tourney
  3. Tourney Attendance
  4. Contribution to the poker forum
I like keeping things simple and I think this would keep things simple and at the same time fun :D

There are 100 people registered. This seems quite a lot. Does anybody check that they are all genuine Casinomeister members?

Wasn't this the first cynicism re: 'qualified members' and 'bonus optimizers'?
I suggest he who is first to complain gets the job.

Maybe GM decides who plays in the freeroll and who doesn't.

The easiest way to deal with this is to check that the winners are members. You notice that I never suggested that they should not be paid just because they only registered here days or hours before the tournament.

For me, the attraction of the tournament is to play with other Casinomeister members I know, not with strangers who only registered in order to play in the tournament, this is why I suggested different rules for next time if there is a next time. Ed Ware and Bryan Bailey may feel differently, and if Mr Ware provides the prize money, he can impose any rules he like.

If I were in charge, I would require at least 2 years' Casinomeister membership, 1000 posts and 250 reputation points. :)

Ouchers on that....what about the ones that were "lurkers" for 2 years or more such as me?

So that would leave you GM, Simmo, Spear, Bryan, Jetset and a few of the more prolific posters, lol..... :)

Speaking of pulling the plug, I guess with the new 32 red pulling the plug on USA players news, I'm no longer a contender for the freeroll =(

oh.. and is GM strict or what? owtch!

Jeeze, that was from a player who bumped up a thread from over two years ago when 32Red was not accepting US players. 32Red has been taking US players for over a year now. You need to make sure you read the dates of some of these postings - thank you.

And there is a Free Roll scheduled for this Saturday. We are ironing out the specific details at this very moment.

*blush* Whoops!!! my bad. I guess after JUST having signed upat 32 red, I thought it ironic.. and therefore probably true.

GM is still real strict tho.

Grandmaster I think 2 years is a bit steep. You built friendships very quick at the poker tables. I feel a post limit should give us direction to that, as there are really good relationships built really fast. I mean when I started this a year back most of the poker players here didn't even know each other. Those relationships were quickly built. However, in order for us to get to know each other we need to make posts and chat to each other. So I would much rather set a steep posts limit. I mean the first day Memememe jumped on and made the 1st 10 crappy posts I was very anoyed https://www.casinomeister.com/forums/threads/a-freeroll-on-the-13th-or-are-you-superstitious.7162/
I soon started to like the SOB

I admit most of my posts are crappy,

but,

there were actually only 4 really crappy posts I made at that time.

I was at wet behind the ears virgin to Poker Forums then; I didn't know the rules. :notworthy

You are so right Chatmaster. There were never more than 20 of us last year. The $50 Poker333 contributed added a bit of spice. It was only through your games that I got to know people such as KasinoKing, pelaaja and andyhinckley. I still chat with these guys when I bump into them. Thanks again for running them m8.

Ohhhh, and by the way, have you got your internet connection at home yet? If so, you really ought to come and play in the 'Meister freerolls at 32Red.

How can I get in the tourney?

Make some posts, express an opinion, become an active member of this forum. Just a thought.
