3-Dice asked me for ID and will block deposits till they get it

Here they have to ask for ID's if you (according to the clerck) look under 25 (while the minimum age required for alcohol/tobacco/lottery is 18).

Asking a 50 year old for her ID's because they have to ask everyone is beyond ridiculous. I truely hate this kind of law that brushes everyone with the same brush regardless of common sense.

I live in Canada and I have never been asked for ID in my life while buying cigarettes or booze. It was great when I was 17 but when you're in your 40s it would be nice for someone to mistake you for a teenager once in a while.

I guess , if you don't live in the US YOU WONT UNDERSTAND THAT BY ASKING EVERYONE , THEY CAN'T BE ACCUSED OF "PROFILIING"
Here in US, if there is a tall guy with a beard, looks like bin laden, wears a robe ala bin larden etc etc , they cant stop and ask anyquestions because that would be profiling. Only time they can stop him is after he throws a bomb in a crowded restaurant killing hundreds so BALTHAZAR, relax go with the flow
You folks must be young Why go through all that aggravation, either skip this casino, move on to another Its not even worth thinking about

As far as I know the police can stop anyone they like if they have proper cause for suspicion. Race is not proper cause for suspicion nor is it a free pass to avoid questions. If you suspect someone might commit or has committed a crime then by all means, stop this person regardless of their race. But you can't just suspect everyone who is of a foreign nationality.

Personally, I never have a problem with the police asking questions. I appreciate the job they're trying to do and I'm happy to help. Sadly, the police never have any questions to ask me.

I live in a fairly nice building and it's pretty rare that there's any kind of commotion. I don't think I've seen the police around here once in the last 3 years and I never get pulled over so my conversations with the police are pretty few and far between.

One day someone suddenly started pounding on my door with their fist. I was almost to the door when I heard "FIRE DEPARTMENT." I opened the door and there were four young firemen standing in the hallway. I looked up and down the hall and then said to the one in the front of the group - "Stripogram?" And although the one in the front didn't even smile the two in the back seemed to think it was quite amusing. Then he said "A woman in the lobby said you had a gas leak in your apartment." I said everything in these apartments are electric. If there's a gas leak in here it would be more of a medical problem than a fire hazard. He stared at me for a minute and then said "Sorry" and they just kind of wandered off. No police though. Maybe next time.

A cop did ask me once many years ago why I was doing 130 in a 90 k/h zone. I looked around and then back at him and said "I'm in a hurry." He seemed a little caught off guard by the honesty. I think that and the fact that it was 3 am in the middle of nowhere resulted in him letting me drive off without even a fine.

It's common for any casino to request at any time ID info from a player as they are also taking a risk by accepting your deposits, example , someone could pretend to be you and commit fraud against you, it protects you, the casino and your credit card.

Well in my humble opinion the protection against fraud came 2 years too late in this case...
I think any casino should ask for ID and verification documents even before you can start making deposits and withdrawals upon registration of your account.
Sure 3Dice is in its rights to ask for ID but why only asking for it why OP has account already for like 2 years.
So I have to sympathise with OP a bit in this matter.

Personally I deliver my verification documents right away after registering with a new casino.
Saves a lot of hassle as your account will be verified in no time normally.

Well, you know what they say. Better late than pregnant.

Maybe the OP said something in the chat room. Maybe one of the reps saw something that looked weird. Whatever the reason was it's far better to ask for ID before the player deposits if there is cause for suspicion than to wait until after they try to withdraw. This is how you avoid these threads that start with "Well, they were happy to take my deposits....."

When a casino asks for ID you have two choices. Provide it or stop playing there. Most casinos probably don't care either way. The choice is yours.

Where do you get asked for ID? I even asked the girl at Giant Tiger why she never asks me. She said "I trust you."

I said "Oh, good. You need a ride home?"

She said "You wish."

Smart girl.

LCBO, SAQ (those are ontario and quebec liqour stores, respectively, for non canajuns) in Collingwood, Wasaga, Toronto,
Peterborough, Ottawa, several bars in several cities, as well as gas stations, casino in both privinces

I used to hang out in a biker bar in Sask because they had some damn good blues bands coming through. Every time I went to the bar the f***ing bartenders would ID me, even if I had just been there talking to the same bartender 20 minutes earlier. I finally got pissed off and said "why always ask for ID"? The guy told me "grow some hair" and they all had a good laugh. I looked around the place and sure enough, my 2 mm of hair was the shortest in the place, by far. I never did grow my hair any longer but they eventually stopped asking for my ID. Nobody offered me a ride home though. :(

I agree that before a deposit is accepted, whatever verification needs to be done.

I don't think they would have asked for ID unless something was fishy. That's not how they roll. The OP must have said or done something that made them want it. The OP has not chimed in since.

Jelly!

Where the hell have you been?

In all fairness, after ~2 years of accepting his money (assuming that it's true) the risk for 3Dice is very minimal at this point and I'd not be happy either. It's not like he could have been depositing with a stolen credit card for the last 2 years and no one noticed.

Now I know that some casinos are "required" to ask for ID's after $XXXX has been deposited and this could be the case here. Or maybe they suspect him of multi-accounting? Other than that, I don't see any legit reason to ask for ID's after such a long time.

Personally I hate sending ID's. The less my personal informations are out there, the better I feel (and I sure understand why some US players are reluctant to send their ID's).

On the contrary, I'd say he's had a very good run not being asked for ID thus far. Once 3k of w/d's has been reached, the casino has to ask anyway. Most do it beforehand. OK, 3dice operates outside the box and can take US players and has some leeway there, but any player should be aware a casino can ask at any time, and have it ready stored on their PC. It takes 2minutes to do. With an accredited casino your ID is safe.

By the way Balt, today you were caught shoplifting in Marks and Spencers in Chelmsford and got a speeding ticket on the M62 near Hull at 17:00, and have just taken out a new Barclaycard with a £2750 credit limit.

So anyway the title says it all. As a heads up to american players at 3-dice just had a round of argument with Lance over at 3-dice. Im going to send them my ID but then I dont know if im going to play there much, 1.) their slots are tight and i win More at Club World, but i do like the chat feature and some of their slots at 3-dice but if anything I should be Id'ng them they win more money off of me lol.

That said, last night i made a deposit with paste and pay no problem, requested a withdrawal no problem, got an email about needing ID, ok first i had heard about it from anyone sent an email going HUH?? withdrew my request for withdrawal and played it and lost it (naturally their slots are soo tight) and they dont like you to say anything negative about them they only want to hear positive (too bad with me you get the good and the bad). So tonight i go to make another deposit with paste and pay and told I cannot deposit they withdrew it till I can send them my ID. WTF?? Well guess what, not going to do i. I can be stubborn too. I just wont deposit and I told Lance the rep that. I will just play at Club World where I actually Do win once more often than not and can make deposits while they wait on my Id and they actually accept constructive feedback. I honestly had a scanned copy of it in an email ready to go out to them tonight till this happened, now far as im concerned they can wait till the cow jumps over the moon

I will eventually send them my ID, in a few months....

I did the same exact thing. Made numerous deposits and maybe only 1 withdrawal in the past. Then all of a sudden they asked for documents! Seems as though I haven't sent them in the past. It took months before I acquiesced. After being with them for 2+ years, two days ago I sent a picture of my driver's license and a picture of me holding it and a copy of some official letter with my name and address. This morning finally won something. Waiting for a check to be processed (more than 24 hours even though they have weekend cash outs) most likely Monday. Hopefully to be received by Wednesday.

Thats normal re ID procedure. Because casino wants to make sure you are a real identity to it. Its your responsibility to provide information to them to prove who you are, its the law too. It is to protect against fraud/money laundering etc. Identity theft is becoming common now because this is internet. So casino have not got much choice but to ask for id with current valid driver licence, valid passport, bill with ur home actual address, valid bank card with partial number only and your valid expiration date, sometimes in some cases they might ask you for more if they are still unsure of your identification. During that time, it is normal to block you from withdraw or deposit until these verification are successfully passed and approved. Please notes you MUST send very clean picture of them with border all around them or they will refuse to accept. If you do not provide them information then it is normal for casino to put in as a result of possible fraud and block you from entering their casino and block you from deposit/withdraw. They will return deposit if necessary after blocking you permanent from casino. The rest of winning will be null and void.

In some cases, if things have change they will ask you again to provide it. And its your responsibility to update it as well.

So please do the right thing, tell the truth, save the hassle, then casino will be in a better mood with you. Otherwise they will be grumpy and karma will bite you.

Nathan.

PS Sometimes casino decide not to let you visit their casino anymore and they don't want you if it is nothing to do with fraud or so. Thats bad luck. It is entirely up to casino. But casino have no rights to withhold your current deposit, they must return immediately after kick you out.
