With 2010 almost upon us, I was wondering if fellow members here have any gambling plans for the new year.

Perhaps you have had a bad year and on reflection have decided to gamble less. Maybe you will be trying different software or have a new strategy.

Or if you are one of the lucky ones, perhaps it will be business as usual and you hope for more of the same in 2010 from your gaming.

Myself I will be taking less bonuses and smaller but more frequent cashouts.
As I am happy and settled at the casinos I play at, I don't intend changing these.

Whatever it is, lets hope everybody here has a prosperous year at the casinos in 2010!

Good thread, Wildfire.

I was lucky for about 2 weeks out of 2009. But to be honest I am getting bored with RTG and Rival. I am a US citizen, so I am pretty much stuck with these. Of course it's not so boring when you're on a roll, but that seems to be a rarity, these days.

I bet low and try not to take a bonus unless it's from Cherry Red or Slots Oasis. I seem to be lucky, there.

I think that I may take up my old hobby of reading. I love to bury myself in a good mystery or an autobiography.

I was so miffed this afternoon that I had to shoot an email to an RTG casino that is accredited. This particular casino is so Tit...I mean so tight, that I pretty much told them although their customer service is the tops, their slots need to be greased.

I can't afford really to gamble anymore, and I am so pissed off about the other night when I let go of $1400 on a $35 deposit. I think the writing is on the wall for me.

I spend way too much time on the computer, that when I think about it , I have let go of the more important parts of life.

I think that this will be my new resolution for 2010. Read more, gamble much less and do other things that do not involve a computer.

I wish you and everyone else here a very happy 2010!

I must say i had a few casinos in this year I landed doing very well at. A few was just total losses. 2010 will be less deposits for me also. I think I have just reached the point of finding the online slots boring. Since they tightened the games up so much. I am just tired of seeing dead spins.
Happy new years all.

Mind you new years eve I have a few tourneys online to play. LOL

Some guys have all the luck eh!

KK in vegas? Perhaps he could bring a hot babe along to log his stats out there. :D

I plan on buying my first home in 2010, so gambling will need to be on the back burner. I have a lot of student debt to also take care of, and things will be tight until that's gone! I'm definitely down for 2009, so I will more than likely delete casinos from my laptop and give it a break. Time to focus on the future

I plan on doing much of the same thing. I reduced my gambling a month or two ago. I cash out smaller amounts and deposit small. I also plan on building a couple of websites once I get my computer back and all my graphic programs reloaded. That will replace time spent low rolling. Luckily I had burned most of them before my hard drive failed.

No plans for New Years eve...too many drunks on the road...lol

Have to go along with Secret2 and Lauram, time to find other things to do. Of course I already have quit casinos as I too can't afford to play them they way they are now anymore, but that's okay. Being on the computer to much may be fun and stimulating to some weird unkown part of my brain that thinks there is nothing else, but the logical part of the brain tells me there is better things to do.
So for me 2010 will be no real money gaming, more painting and spending more time enjoying those around me like the hubby, his mom and of course our cats and dogs.
As Vegetagirl said to me in a post, painting is where it's at for me and I have to agree with her. I get more pleasure, relaxation and personal satisfaction out of my paintings that lasts me much longer than the tiny wins I have had throughout my years of playing.
So I personally will be better off spending my money on canvases, paints and brushes than spending money to watch the reels spin into oblivion.

So stricly fun mode for me this year.

May God Bless all of you this year and always.

For 2010, I've made a strict rule for myself. NO BLACKJACK. :)

Blackjack has been my downfall for the most part of 2009, so I'm putting a stop to it. It would be standard for me to win at other games, then lose it all back playing blackjack. Needless to say, 2009 was a bad year for me when it comes to blackjack.

I had a few good sessions of BJ this year, but for the most part, they sucked.

but anyways, I'm rambling.

For 2010, I'm going to play poker and that's it. No slots, no blackjack, nothing. And yes, it's going to be hard as sh**!

I consider myself to be an above average player, and want to prove to myself that I can make some decent money from poker. I've played for years, but not seriously enough. That's gonna change. :)

I expect 2010 will include more money lost at the Landbased Casinos, as a return to health allows me to get about more.

I did pretty well in 2009 online, I'm down less than $600 with deposits in the 5 figures. $190 of that is the cost of my prepaid, and $136 in Moneybookers and bank fees for incoming wires. I've had a ton of play, some highs and lows, and endless hours of entertainment, so no regrets. I still have a little left to play with in a couple of accounts and a little in Moneybookers, so there is still a chance I could end ahead, or about $700 down.

Planning on making Dec. 31, 2009 my last night of playing online casinos (unless the U.S. passes some legislation to regulate and legalize online casinos). Sticking to land based.
Happy New Year Everybody

I was going to put up something like this after the 1st, but, since someone beat me to it (lol)...

I just re-entered the online gambling scene in April '09 and I ended up ahead by a little over 1.7k on deposits of a little under 6k (minus bank/qt fees which I don't keep track of).

For 2010 I am going to change my strategy slightly. In '09 I was very superstitious. I played my favorite games in the same order every time, which meant I only got to play some of them in real mode very rarely. In 2010 I resolve to even this out a bit by starting my next session with the game I ended the last session on instead of going back to #1 on my favorites list every time. All the games on my favorites have an RTP of between 97 and 99+ and all are relatively low variance, so this should be safe. Also, in '09, all my winnings went back into the account from where they came. In 2010 I plan to use a portion of my winnings to augment my normal monthly IRA contribution.

Yup - that's me.
But my New-Year's resolution will be to try to be more patient & controlled; I have found myself throwing all common sense (and lots of good winnings) out the window far too often in the last 6-months. I think this is due to impatience; I usually feel like I haven't got enough time to do all the gambling I'd like to, so I tend to rush & go for the big, fast hits instead of the slow building which has been the key to my success for so many years.
I may have to play less casinos (bonuses) so I don't feel this pressure.

Alas my Hot Babe (my lovely wife) will probably not be coming with me; our little girl will be only just over 2 in May, and two 14-16 hour flights might be just a bit too much for her. :(

KK

my punting seems to be getting less and less each year with online gambling anyway and having a new baby in the works throws a lot of this sort of stuff out the window, old day's I would have a few hundred left over after each fortnight and I would have a little dabble but now baby Ben is here I prefer to spend my money on him.

I will still probably spend say $100-$200 per month for shits and giggles but that doesnt affect my bills etc at all.

IF anything, I want to try and be a little like KK and be diligent in my betting which I never am, always want the bigwin (just like winbig).

probably going to play more poker in the new year and see how that goes.

Ironically, for all those who say they are going to switch to poker because of casino losses, I started out playing poker, and lose, whereas with casinos, I am either breakeven or a little ahead for 2009.

But as to what I plan to do in 2010, I will probably deposit and play less, on a select few sites, using an amount determined by a budget formula. And I will probably try to schedule my gambling time, in order to give my time structure, which I find works well for me, even if we are talking about leisure. And as Secret stated, I will endeavor to read more and pursue healthier activities and hobbies.

I do not believe I will play much at B&M, as it's a PITA getting to AC, but I will maybe check out some of the newer casinos, like that one in PA. There is also a new one slated to open next year near Philly.

By the way, New Year's Eve last year was unreal - is that typical? That is, do the online casinos loosen the slots on New Year's Eve, because I kept hitting and hitting and hitting, couldn't lose. So honestly, I've been looking forward to New Year's Eve all year, to retest my theory! :D

Anyway, good luck, health and happiness to all in 2010! :)
