My condolences...that sucks
I know a single mother with two disabled children who could live for a year on that amount.
Maybe I should send you her address

Very good subject for a topic! I like you started it!
I agree.

I am happy to post that I have never had a year in the red playing online, simply because I have never made a deposit of my own money anywhere.

My bankroll was seeded entirely from poker freeroll tournament winnings and over the last 8 years I have withdrawn approximately $16,000.

Thanks to companies like Firepay, Click2Pay, and now MoneyBookers, I've been able to easily move money back and forth from site to site. None of the ewallets have ever been tied to a bank account for security reasons, instead I use my favorite poker site as my withdrawal point, requesting a Western Union or Moneygram wire and having it be ready for pick up when I awake the next morning.

I have never accepted a deposit bonus except ones that required playing time to release, and therefore never had any withdrawal restrictions. Because of this I have never had any issue at any time with a withdrawal request at any legitimate casino or poker room.

Hmm this year, up about $5K between online and offline play.

Up about $4,000 online thanks to a $5K session @ GoWild :)

edit: I may be up/down more offline....I'll have to wait till Feb. 1st before my win/loss record is posted @ Harrah's.

edit2: I miss Vegas.

I did not exactly track all balances, but I am up approximately 3500 bucks. Best wins in Jackpotcapital, 3Dice, 32Red and Clubworld, worst losses in Aladins Gold.

Cheers Balky

I always have a problem with these threads. The reason is all year I listen to people who complain about how tight the casinos are or how they cheat the players ect...yet if you track this thread you will see most people claim they are winners at the end of the year.

So if most people beat the casinos, how do they stay in business?

Well, the second half of 2008 was a DISASTER, but 2009 saw a complete reversal. The highlight was the 51K from a 300 deposit, and an INCREDIBLE sequence of "mega features" on Treasure Ireland (winner screenshots, early June 2009). I preceded this with a couple of 10K hits, one of which earned me a bonus ban:D. Rounding off, 22K from 5K in at Red Flush last weekend, bringing me almost to break even there, from being quite some way down.

I don't keep year by year snapshots, just a grand total of my entire online playing career - deposits in one column, and withdrawals in another, so I can look at current profit or loss, and judge roughly from memory how I am doing.

I think it comes down to a personal choice if people wish to share their performance results on the forum. Some folk may not publish them for fear of appearing to be a big head, perhaps not wanting to rub salt in the wound of the losing players. Others may be embarrassed by their losses and fear other people may be quick to judge them. Then you have other people who simply wish to keep their transactions private.

The truth of the matter is that no matter what system people are using, the majority will wind up with losses, hence why the casinos do not go out of business. The same reason why you never see a high street bookmaker lay off staff or close branches.

Some players may also be in denial and refuse to accept they lose, so as to keep the hope alive they might eventually win.

A key aspect to consider with this kind of thread on amounts won or lost, is that 10k may seem a lot to some people but to others it is just a bit of spare money. Perhaps a more accurate study would be whats your % of wins and losses set against your annual income. This of cause would be very intrusive to share publically, but its something people can do in private.

But whether people are up or down, or the "oh im about level brigade"! should review their year on how much they have spent and how much time it has cost them. Then hopefully draw some conclusions on how they can approach 2010 and get the most value and entertainment for their money.

May I ask those who posted their summary in this thread to mention an average value of their stakes. For example what their general stakes are on a slot machine, or how much their stake was when they won these big amounts. I am really interested. I know one may play at totally different stakes at different times, but I gess there is an average that can be calculated. If you have some time could you mention that, too?

Thank you!

Wow! :eek2: That's nice results! My congratulations!
Did you play slots or other games?

My results: 8442 euros profit from BetVoyager
All different games. BJ mostly.

Obviously more people lose than win. People will moan about losing all year long, but when it comes to admitting and quantifying it in this thread, they are too scared/embarrassed to say how much they lost.
And of course the winners finally have their time to brag now they are being asked, hence the skewed results you see before you. ;)

Only 4000 (exactly) down this year. Will probably be an additional 500 added to that. But a huge improvement compared to last year. And that is solely because of reduced deposits, have run about equally bad as last year.
