$200,000 roulette bet

You guys are going to be a lot more knowledgeable on this than I am, so I'm wondering if I could ask for your advice.

I'm a U.S. citizen. I'd like to put down two stacks of $100k each on two of three roulette dozens. Can't find a casino in Vegas that will take that scale and type of bet, and then there's UIGEA. I'm not desperate and it's not my life savings or anything, just a legit bet that I'm looking to make with a reputable casino without reapplying for my lapsed passport and flying my butt to Monaco.

Where can I do this if not online?

You're USA? Forget online. Online, there would be allllllll sorts of red flags going out to all the major law enforcement agencies if you tried to move that much money out of country. Plus... Most casinos have max cashout allowances, certainly more (I hope) for whales than for us peons (limits hover around $4k per week if I remember correctly)... and they won't be paying interest on the money held for months. Then there's that nasty UIGEA and the DOJ which can put major kinks in even modest withdrawals....

Land based? Try the Belagio or Venetian high limit lounge. Phone a host before you go.

What surprises me most is that Vegas casinos won't take the action.

All I would add is that I would recommend you play the most beneficial rules possible this would be "French Roulette" where there is a single zero and no double zero and where you can play either the la partage or en prison rules; an even-odds stake loses if zero is rolled. According to Wikipedia in Las Vegas those that do include these variants include The Bellagio, MGM Grand, The Mirage, The Rio and The Wynn.

Basically this straight off improves your chances of winning by approx 1.5 points on the wheel. I am very much a small roller so I cannot say what will and wont work but would strongly recommend phoning/ writing in advance to be safe.

Indeed, I'm surprised that so many play / calculate their odds by American Roulette. I mean, most casinos (online at least, never been to Vegas) have european, or even French roulette with the La Partage rule as you mention. So given the choice of either playing with one zero and half stake back when hitting the zero (1.35% house edge) or two zeros and no stake back (5.2% house edge), I find it peculiar that so many still play American style.

(A casino which uses the "en prison" rule, where you can't remove your stake after a 0, would have an edge of 2.02%)

Even in that, he struggled to find a casino that would take the bet. The casino he first lined up then changed their minds if I remember right. In the end, only one Vegas casino would take the bet and even then they insisted it had to be a Double Zero table.

Regards the OP, as a US citizen you've no chance of getting a straight bet online until the laws change. Any casino that took your bet right now I wouldn't trust as far as I cold throw them. Plus all the ones currently taking US players have < 4k a week max cashout limits so even if you did win, and even if they were trustworthy, you'd still have to wait a year and more for your winnings LOL.

I think casinos would prefer lots of small bets to slowly drain you of your balance, rather than having a player 'hit and run' for what could potentially be a large amount of money.
Either way I find it hard to believe vegas casinos wouldn't take such a bet

I am pretty sure no Vegas casino would take this bet because he has a more than 50/50 chance of winning. If he were to bet on either say red or black there would be a few casinos that would take the action. However he has a higher than 60% chance of winning so odds are not in casinos favour.

Very true, nevertheless the EV for me is still negative, so any well capitalized casino truly in the gambling business would see profit in the positive EV choice to take the bet.

I'm sure this will get derided and or laughed at, but just let me say that if anyone can lead me in the right direction of a place (overseas or domestic) where I can end up making this bet, and I win, my word of honor I'll be happy to push a few hundred $ in bitcoin their way.

No trouble. Just looking to have fun. And attempting to launder money with any use of U.S. financial networks, casinos included, will get you caught, so no, I'm not trying to launder money. I just want to make a big roulette bet. Haven't made one this big before.

Anyway, it was easier to arrange than I thought. Tropicana in Atlantic City will take it. I might want to pair it with a BCSCG bet though, so I'm still looking at Vegas.

He negotiated a special deal that if the ball landed on double 0, it would be disregarded and he would be able to bet again. And he only bet $136,000.
