You guys are going to be a lot more knowledgeable on this than I am, so I'm wondering if I could ask for your advice.

I'm a U.S. citizen. I'd like to put down two stacks of $100k each on two of three roulette dozens. Can't find a casino in Vegas that will take that scale and type of bet, and then there's UIGEA. I'm not desperate and it's not my life savings or anything, just a legit bet that I'm looking to make with a reputable casino without reapplying for my lapsed passport and flying my butt to Monaco.

Where can I do this if not online?

Ummm... I have to ask, why?

The dozens... unless I missed a memo... pay out at 2:1. Therefore the best you can do is get your money back. If it lands in the third dozen, or on 0/00 you lose the lot. It's early morning and the coffee is still kicking in but this kind of thing belongs in Sparta, no?

Edit: forgot to say.... Welcome to Meisterland :) Love the avatar.

:eek2: I am not too sure if you would find an online casino with such limits, surely land based casino are able to accommodate such bets? highroller or vip lounge etc?

He'd win 300k
He gets his stake back, I'm sure - unless my coffee is decaffeinated..

Still got to be a better way to play 200k.

Not gonna happen.

Coming out of the US it won't be easy - Even if a Casino increases your limits :)

There is too much of hassle getting paid and if you do manage to make a sizeable profit, winnings will not be easily transferred.

I think william hill probably has the highest limits (for a reputable casino), I know the blackjack goes up to 20k/hand so roulette should be similar.
why wouldn't a vegas casino take your bet? surely they get bets similar to that all the time. A 200k bet on roulette is worth around $6k to them (assuming a 97& payout)

D'oh... I think mine must be!! Better go brew a fresh pot and add a sack of sugar.

Agreed though... still a crazy bet, but that said I've seen crazier.

I bet cool cat would take the wager... have you asked them?

(This is a JOKE... do NOT place the bet there!! :))

I'd never put that kind of money on one bet in an online casino. I mean ANY online casino, as honest as some of them are. Too many things can go wrong.

Also, I'm not sure what's the motivation behind it but betting 200k on roulette isn't the smartest thing to do.

Eh?
Surely he'd either lose it all, or he'd win 100k - for a 300k total "win"?
Are we all a bit mad today?
Wibble Wibble.

What surprises me most is that Vegas casinos won't take the action.

Maybe it was because he told them he could only come down during school holidays.....

Don't you just love how some love to brag about how the "money doesn't matter"

Why not just put 200k on red or black?

Surely there will be a casino in vegas that'll take this bet - just not on the regular floor. You might need to contact a VIP host to set it up.

There was a TV show about a guy who sold everything he owned and went to vegas to bet it on red/black - that was nearly $200k.

All I would add is that I would recommend you play the most beneficial rules possible this would be "French Roulette" where there is a single zero and no double zero and where you can play either the la partage or en prison rules; an even-odds stake loses if zero is rolled. According to Wikipedia in Las Vegas those that do include these variants include The Bellagio, MGM Grand, The Mirage, The Rio and The Wynn.

Basically this straight off improves your chances of winning by approx 1.5 points on the wheel. I am very much a small roller so I cannot say what will and wont work but would strongly recommend phoning/ writing in advance to be safe.
