Each institution involved on the way to make a deposit to or withdrawal from an online casino is making sure they get a piece of that pie. Just the simple nature of a business. Nothing is free.
I found the worst to be Neteller. My account is in Euro as i opened it when i was still living in Europe. Since moving to Asia my casino accounts are in AUD. My bank account is in THB. So here is the trail:
- deposit to Neteller 100 AUD = appr.67 EUR
+ 1.9% card charge from Neteller = 1.25EUR
+ Thai Visa bank card - 2.9% currency exchange fee = 1.9EUR
+ Neteller is applying a lower exchange rate = 1.8 EUR
- deposit to casino in AUD
+ 2.9% currency exchange fee = 1.9EUR
Total cost to deposit 100 AUD: 1.25+1.9+1.8+1.9 = 6.85 EUR
On top Neteller charges the casino a transaction fee between 1.5 - 3%., which converted to EUR is another 1-2 EUR.
Total earnings for Neteller for 100AUD deposit : 7.85 - 8.85EUR.
