I'm going to give this one last throw of the dice, it's had over £300 of deposits off me over at Rizk (they're running it at 96%) on 20p spins, and it hasn't topped 200x yet (IIRC my best so far is 136x).

Final £100 deposit for this evening, and if it mugs me off again it'll go onto the 'don't play again' list.

The problem is it's so bloody hard to get up into the blue zone, even a four scatters trigger (which starts you at the bottom of the green zone) can just go straight to 40x/4 win spins, and honestly, my results with going for the win spins haven't been great, at all.

Yes you'll get some modest playtime out of it, £100 is going to get you a couple of hours on 20p spins on a losing session, but it can slightly start to feel like death by a thousand cuts.

Anyway, this is it, if it dicks me again, I'm done with it.

I think that's a new high score, although it's not exactly orgasmic.

217x and that required gambling a 150x win for 15 win spins.

Win hasn't added into the bank in this screeny, so that's back to £100.

I'll keep plugging away at it, but I'm not entirely convinced by the win distribution profile on this game.

Think I'm done with this one now, in fairness it only took £20 off me last night and I had it running for two and a half hours, so in terms of playtime I can't really complain, but at no point was I ever in profit (and I don't think I ever have been on this game on any deposit), and certainly nothing even remotely into withdrawal territory.

I'm not saying it can't pay, and clearly there's the 5000x win at the top of the trail, but my experience has been that without a five scatters trigger dropping straight in, your chances of getting into the blue zone, where the decent wins are, are pretty remote.

Also unless you're prepared to take a gamble on the win spins, the green zone awards are all somewhat uninspiring, so in essence you end up feeling rather forced to go for the win spins gamble, and some of them can be real shitters, plus I've yet to see a dramatic upside to taking the gamble on.

Not the worst game in the world, but one I'll take a pass on going forward. Interested to see what 4ThePlayer come up with next, one of the few providers left whose output I take an active interest in.

If nothing else it served as an excellent periodic reminder that playing random games with a generous house edge is a one way ticket to setting fire to your money so yesterday morning I drove into Douglas and bought a PS5 which wasn't cheap at £480 but isn't massively more than I binned chasing a win of any distinction on 3 Lucky Leprechauns on 20p spins and for my trouble was eventually 'rewarded' with a win of £43.40p

I used to make this point on my old channel from time to time, that when you take a step back from online slotting and analyse it with an objective gaze, it's very hard to make a case for it from any kind of value for money perspective.

When Borderlands 3 came out I bought the Mega Super Deluxe Edition on PC for £100, which seems like a lot of money for a videogame but according to the Epic launcher I've put 261 hours into it, try getting 261 hours of entertainment out of a £100 deposit into an online casino....

I have been playing Fortnite lately on the kids Nintendo, but it lacks substance for me, with no play-through or story. Looking forward to getting back into gaming once I can stump up the cash to get a gaming PC after buying all the other things that keep trumping it on the list.

What are you playing at the moment?

BL2 is arguably the best of the three, although BL3 runs it a very close second. (The DLCs for BL3 are perhaps better than the main game.) If you've never played BL2 then I would unreservedly and whole-heartedly recommend it. Get the GOTY year edition as that comes with all the DLCs, you can buy it for peanuts these days. BL1 is a bit rough around the edges compared to 2 and 3, so either 2 or 3 would be a step up.

Games wise thinking about what I've really put some time into since I got my new PC just over a year ago, Sniper Elite 3, 4 and 5 have had 250+ hours between them, Forza Horizon 5, BL3, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, Trials Fusion and Trials Rising, Dirt 5, Doom Eternal, GRID Legends, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Pinball Arcade and Pinball FX, and Red Dead 2. I have played other stuff as well but they're the ones that I've put an appreciable amount of time into.

I've got the PS5 because I want to play The Last Of Us Part 1 remake* for PS5, I've played it through before on PS4 Pro but having watched the INCREDIBLE TV series on HBO Max, I wanted to experience the game again and Naughty Dog have done a gangbusters job on the PS5 remake. It also means I can play through games like Ghost Of Tsushima again in PS5-o-vision (PS4 and Pro were capped at 30FPS), and I'm a way into God Of War Ragnarok so I can continue with that on PS5.

I'm kind of platform agnostic really, I just go where the games are, the only thing I can't do is play first person games with a gamepad, I need a keyboard and mouse for those. Previous gen I had a PS4 Pro, XBox One X and Switch - each of which had their own exclusives I wanted to play. This gen I'm not sure the XBox Series X will have much to tempt me but we'll see how it goes. Nintendo will do a follow-on to the Switch at some point, which I'll get, because Nintendo have games you can't get anywhere else. (A new Mario Kart game would be worth the price of entry alone.)

Playing videogames is basically my favourite thing to do, alongside fruit machine emulation. Online slots are alright but the glory days of the Microgaming Viper Client with loads of great games to choose from on solid RTPs and profiles that lent themselves to decent playtime are long gone. 3Dice is the closest you'll get these days which is why they get nearly all my deposits and play, 3 Lucky Leprechauns has reminded me why I generally don't bother playing elsewhere.

Last games I really played to death were Dark Souls, Fallout and Fallout 2, the latter with all downloadable content also. It is a little annoying you never seem to get a full game nowadays, with additional content reserved to make more money, but yeah, much more fun than online slots lately. Its just they take up so much of my time.

I think it's important to make a distinction between games that are complete at launch and have the full experience in the base game and then go on to expand on that later, and games that have clearly been butchered to take stuff out to try and sell back to you as extra microtransactions.

In the case of BL2 and BL3, both games were entirely complete at launch and had the full campaign experience in them, with no microtransactions or other bullshit, and then later went on to sell full expansions as DLC. I'm fine with that.

What I'm not fine with is shit like Ubisoft (and many others) have been pulling with their games, where they deliberately make the game grindy and tedious, and then offer to sell you an 'XP Booster' to fix the problem they deliberately created so they could sell you the 'solution'.

Crap like that can get in the sea, and I refuse to engage with it.

One question that possibly got lost in my wall of text above @4ThePlayer , is there any 'best strategy' when it comes to making a choice between the 'green level' basic wins or win spins?

Each win spin is basically 'costed' at 10x, is that what the win spins average out to eventually? Obviously the win spins are the volatile choice to make as they can pay under or over the base amount (which is fine and a nice bit of player choice), but for example if from a sample of one million 100x wins and one million exchanging 100x for 10 win spins, would I end up with the same?

There is no best strategy. We offer the average win as a cash prize, or the chance to win more or less by playing the bonus I hope that helps.
