This should keep everyone happy - cash prizes for the first 10 but loads of bonus money prizes as well.

Is anyone having problems loading tournaments on Nedplay and Golden lounge - I have no problem with 32red and Dash - but the tournaments on the other two are dead when I click on them (all tournaments, not just this one ) ? (or any suggestions how to solve it - CS reckon it must be my fault - even though I have two different computers and two casinos are fine on both !)

Fun tournament by the looks of it. I am currently at number 12 without purchasing continues or rebuys. I should think I will easily drop out of the top 100 though. I am unsure whether I would purchase continues for this though as would be buying bonus cash for real cash and taking WR into consideration I'm not sure its really worth it. Actually it will be interesting to see how many outside the top 10 do purchase continues.

Well, don't even think about winning it as one of the 'big boys' (as could easily be predicted) has already got in with numerous continues or whatever and got an insane 2.3k x max (1000 coins) stake.
The second as I type has barely a fifth of this. Top prize is already 'won'................

I do not think you have got the hang of these games - the leader, now on just short of 4m points, will have played about 100 games at a cost of £250. that is the prize for 10th place !! To win you will have to play all 500 games at a cost of £1250 for a win of £750 - probably with a score of 39 million and a bit - as the second prize also gives a win even if you play all the games no-one can just bully everyone else out of it by getting a big lead.

This is why I won't go 500 continues. Only takes four or five people to do so to risk significant loss. Theoretically many more could do so. What I would really like is a feature that showed how many continues each participant had used!

Thanks Sscrabble and sorry to hear CS couldn't help. I tried my test accounts and all seemed fine - anyone else had a problem on Ned or GL?

We are hoping to do more tournaments so any feedback is welcome.

Yes , of course there is risk --- it is a competition - you can win, you can lose - just as you can when you play the slots or other games for cash. There is some skill in making a judgement call in when to 'go for it', or to back off. If too many people go for it , as does happen , the people in 3rd to tenth could end up losing money , but that is up to the players - you can always back off (and which is why it is better when they have an increasing prize fund, where a percentage of entry fees (80 or 90% usually) are added to the prizes once the entry fees exceed the prize fund by 10 or 20% - if these games are well supported they will probably do that)

I like these though - I like playing slots - if I spend £1250 playing them I could win - but I could lose substantially, and get only 2 or 3 hours play - lots of stories on here of 20 or 30% rtp ---- but with this tournament if I play all the spins I get 20000 spins plus the bonus rounds - if I lose a few quid it will most likely be a lot less than I would have lost playing for cash.

I do not think 32 has got the hang of it, Give a fair chance for every one with just a few continues and there probably be surprised how many players take up the offer, at the minute its the top dogs that no the score and afew newbies, Give every body a fair shout and that probs get the money rolling in.

I keep trying but all my tournaments on nedplay and golden lounge remain non-responsive when I click on them, whereas 32red on the same machine is fine -- weird !

Winnings are bonus money? If true that really sucks.Tournament winnings at MGs I play at are real cash.Guess I won't be buying any continues.

The first ten are cash prizes - the other prizes are bonus money, but it gives people a chance to win them without any continues. They make an effort to give everyone a chance and get a reaction like that !

You are quite right. Please do not misconstrued my observations as being against 32 red. I am just thinking out loud and like you I use various strategies to determine whether to risk more funds. It's great to have these tournies and without including the 500 continues I doubt 32,red could fund them, so I am grateful :)

A couple things you could check - first of all, with all the MG crashes lately it might just be a process that didn't quit. Take a look in task manager while you don't have any casinos open and view processes - if there are any casinogame.exe processes running, kill them (or just reboot your computer) and see if that helps. One day I opened task manager after playing some tourneys and I had like 5 of them that hadn't quit. If a process hasn't quit and you try to start it again it just does nothing.

Another thing that I noticed lately, after every casino update I get a message from my firewall (I use ZoneAlarm) that I have to 'allow' the casino to open the tourney window. If you have a firewall you could try disabling it to see if the tourney window will open, or check your program settings to see if your firewall is blocking it.

That's all I got, worth a shot anyhow.... :)

Exactly! That's what I meant, if you can't afford to 'buy' the prize then you're SOL.
Fair enough on 32red making cash for the top 10 only, as they will have spent a fair bit to get there.

The casinos are under no obligation whatsoever to offer free tourneys anyway, If a stranger knocked your front door and said 'Hello Mate, here's a tenner' you wouldn't reply 'Make it 20' now would ya! :p

I only occasionally bother with the tourneys but although unlikely, in a way its a 'no lose gamble' playing the freebies without rebuying.

I prefer to give my cash to Immortal Romance anyway

If someone knocked at my door offering 10 I would certainly ask is there any more where that came from :)

Using the accumulator system, rather than a fixed 10K pool, would mean that people don't feel they are chasing diminishing returns once a couple of the "big boys" have the top places sewn up.

This month, Microgaming changed the format of their regular accumulator by making it a 999 continue marathon as opposed to a 4 continues and multiple rebuys. The pool has hit almost 60K with this new format, yet it barely breached 10K under the earlier format.

With an accumulator, those who play all 500 or 999 continues will be feeding all the prizes, so even the small fry will benefit through higher prizes at the bottom of the table. The only downside is that it can't be marketed as a 10K tournament, but the hope would be that the pool would eventually reach 10K, and possibly even exceed it.

Most accumulators set a base level such that the pool only starts to accumulate once a minimum amount has been made through entry and continue fees. This minimum guarantee can be set high enough such that the tournament still looks attractive as this will ensure sufficient participation from the outset.

If all goes well, 32Red could offer a 30K pool at no more cost or risk than the current 10K offering. Once players see a big pool accumulate in the first event, they are more likely to participate in a repeat.

It can ---- it is just guaranteed to be a MINIMUM 10k tournament.

That's the problem. The casino could take a hit if there isn't enough interest to cover the guaranteed 10K.

It seems to me that each tournament is given a fixed 10K budget for prizes, and they are experimenting with different formats and prize ladders. Each one has so far had a different prize ladder, and now this one has gone to 500 continues rather than the 999. This may help those players who would go "all in", but just don't have the time to get through 999 continues in 7 days, so give it a miss. 500 is still quite a bit, but it halves the time needed for the dedicated player to work through them all.

I see lion1234 is back, and I have a feeling that the top one is also one of his too. All this does is get me off the fence, I am now determined to get revenge for Christmas, and it's a good job it only needs half the time because I am likely to be busy for at least 2 days of the next 6, unless I get snowed in;)

I think you are right about Lion. I would be chasing but started at less than 50% rtp so will just go after runner-up money later in the week. Would have a go with all 500 games on Nedplay or Golden Lounge but still cannot get any tournaments to open on them.

The Christmas tournaments were always going to be hard work for the casino because they needed over 100 hours of play in the six days. They will never do too badly in games like these because the likes of you, me , Muziq and others will chase the money at the end.
