Hi community,

I just wanted to share a bit of my life with you. I went to see doctor at the end of March because I was having random headaches, there was strange taste in my mouth randomly and I began to have problems with vision. Initial diagnose was migrane but I'm glad the doctor decided to magnet scan my head. And thus it came to my knowledge that I had a huge tumor in my brain. The tumor was 7cm long and the surgeon was shocked that it didn't show any symptoms earlier since he estimated that the tumor has been growing on my brain for at least hree years and even the smallest tumors can cause much more severe symptoms.

Things got rolling pretty quickly since in two weeks I was laying on surgeon's table. The surgeon was extremely worried that I might get some or all of the following, my left side limbs would be paralyed, my right eye would lose vision completely, I would get epilepsy and lose my sense of smell. And of course I could've died straight during the operation. Luckily all of those were avoided since the surgery went better than expected as the surgeon put it. Aftermath was that my left eye has permanent damage which makes me unable to see the left side of my field of vision, I have like 45 degree vision to the left unlike normally your eyes see roughly 180 degree. And while recovering my right eye has very limited vision but it gets better (I hope) everyday. I don't have any pain but my medication makes my blood pressure and pulse very high (this morning my numbers were 166/121 and pulse 101) which makes relaxing and thus falling asleep difficult.

But anyways I'm glad that my situation is as good as it is now. Casinomeister forum has been a huge source of entertainment during my stay at the hospital and it will continue to be during the rest of my recovery. I got two months sick leave so this is a good time to start racking those big win pictures up :)

Just wanted to share this with you since I've never had experienced anything like this and this has given me new perspective on many things. But I'm still going strong and life is good.

Cheers and appreciate your health since after all it's one of your most valuable things in your life :)

Honestly, I didn't want to read this thread. It's getting harder each year to be reminded about how fragile we are.

Now I'm glad I did anyway, and I'm happy you're doing so well. Keep your spirit up

Good to know you are starting the road to recovery slowly but surely!
So my question is do you have any game requests or desired big wins to view that we can try to hit??:cool:

Its great to read that you are recovering well, better to know that you are taking such a positive view on everything and thats bound to help with your recovery.
After having some health issues myself, I know that just following the goings on of CM and all of its regular contributors can certainly help you through each day.

Good luck with the recovery and fingers crossed you will be back to full fitness sooner rather than later.

Wow what a story and you are very lucky that you had a fantastic surgeon. Also you seem to have a very positive outlook so that is good too. Glad to read that you are recovering well but take it easy and if your not ready to go back to work when your sick leave is up then don't. Just take it one day at a time and hey a bit of eyesight loss is a good trade for a longer life. You will adapt to this in time. Hope you have many big wins because after what you went through you deserve it:thumbsup:

Getting old kinda sucks, abit like getting the "Congratulations. You Win 0p From 45 Free Spins" on your favourite game.

Soldier on.

Good luck and all the best.

Glad to hear it went well, and that you escaped a probably life-threatening illness so (relatively) lightly. Life is so precious.

Having the right attitude is really important, and you appear to have achieved that.

Like most of us I've had brushes with ill-health (nothing as severe as your experience I hasten to add) and it can be scary and deeply worrying, especially if you're used to robust good health most of your life...pleased that you are out of the woods now.

Hi community, I just wanted to share a bit of my life with you. ...

Wow, that is some heavy shit to go through! I admire your courage and matter-of-factness about it. Getting through something like that is amazing. Best wishes to you for a speedy recovery and a happy, healthy life after surgery.

Wow. Yes, life is very fragile. I'm hoping that you'll have a speedy recovery - drive on and be strong.

Thank you all for your comments and positive thoughts :) such a great community we have here ^^

As for screenshots I prefer NetEnt shots (not DoA though since we have plenty already) and the more obscure game more interesting the shot. Also I want to see full screen of dragons in Play'n'Go Jade Magician so you can go for that ;)

Naturally I will post plenty of pictures myself :p

Posting a few for you in winners April screenshots shortly

Little update for you all. First, I'm obviously not dead even though I haven't shared anything in over three months. This is mostly because of using a computer and a smartphone is such a chore since my eyes are still bad. Well, not the eyes but the nerves and connections to brains are pretty messed up. I have turned on most options to help me use these devices better but the blind spots can't really be helped at all.

Basically I'm fit as a fiddle. Physically and mentally I'm in great condition and my eyesight has improved a little :) I have been exercising and enjoying summer (I live in Finland though :p) for all this time and occasionally I have been and will be in hospital for tests. Positive news is that my eyesight has indeed improved over 50% from the results just after the surgery. It is still uncertain if it keeps normalizing or is this as good as it gets since every time it has been tested the result was better than the previous. I am used to be somewhat sight-impaired so it really doesn't affect my everyday life and I feel that I have had a great summer so far :)

Some worrying news though. Recent magnet scan I took showed some tumor tissue still present in my skull. The doctor told me that it is so small it probably won't even start to grow and even if it would, it would grow in the liquid-filled empty spot where the bigger tumor was causing almost no harm at all. Removing the grown tumor would also be much easier than the previous one. This situation will be monitored over the next 10 years.

If I was doing good the last time I wrote about my situation, I'm doing great now :)

Cheers and thank you all for your support and good luck in gaming ;)

Holding thumbs that your recovery continues and your sight steadily improves - you have a positive attitude that is important to maintain.

Gorba. Even though I dont know you all the best.

Glad to hear you are well at present and fighting on. A serious health issue like that would really knock anybody around.

Life is way too short and we are all one step away from eternity.

So happy to hear that your health has much improved and that your eyesight is coming back. Wonderful that you're feeling strong and positive and have been enjoying the Finnish equivalent to summer:D

Wishing you all the best for the future, looks like it will be great, what a relief!

Glad to hear things went well, and that you are recovering nicely! I appreciate that you shared your experience with us, thank you. Because it really is true for all of us, we don't have tomorrow; we have right now, and that's it. Your experience has probably helped you see the wisdom in that axiom, for better or worse.
