Hello, i just need to be able to speak about this somewhere, well anywhere as long as i get to say it.

Gambling has utterly destroyed my life. It was not that bad until my losing streak began over one year ago. In that time all my salaries have been lost to gambling, and i have also taken these expensive internet loans. Dont know if you have them in your countries but they literally prey on the weak. So now i have accumulated debt for over 50 000€. I myself make around 30k/year before taxes so its ALOT to me, and probably for most of us.

And i just feel so cheated and dissapointed. Ofcourse in myself for the most. But the casinos too. Ofcourse this is my own fault but when you lose control there's really not much you can do IMO. Would be great if a casino would ask if you have a gambling problem after losing say, 16 grand in a month, betting 2€ a spin.

The craziest thing is that i didnt lose all this betting like 10€ and up. No, ive lost all this betting between 0,20-2€ very very rarely 3-5€. So it's just sad that you know that you cant even win it back. I havent been up for a single week with my gambling, rarely even for a day.

Once again 1000€ gone with 77% rtp betting 0,80€/spin. Its just absolutely insane that i simply cant hit anything. As if the casinos had seen that yup, that guy will keep depositing even if we dont let him win. Tinfoil but just.. damn.

So may I ask what you plan to do?

You sound like you're ready to quit, but are you?

I dont really know anymore. I want to. But ive tried so many times. Once even for almost a year. Felt great, until some casino sent out an email that they had added a 100€ free bonus to my account, as the self exclusion had ended. Dont even remember which one tit was anymore. But i let down my guard and was back in it. Everything feels so meh nowadays. No joy in life anymore.

It's really dangerous when it has gone some time. You miss what was fun in playing but it's really easy to forget the bad feelings.

How did you manage to stop last time. You self excluded, but did you get any help?
It's good that you at least have taken this step to talk about it. It's a start and the way to go.

Yeah, It's so weird, i can remember a distinct moment when all this went overboard. It was last march, and i had just lost all the money I had won on different slots. I watched my last euros wash down from dead or alive at 1,80€, and 3 cents were left on the accounts. So just to Zero it out i played three lines and hit three scatters. When i had 7+5 spins left i would have had a wildline on line 5, and with 1+5 left i would have had another on line 4. But all i won was 4,91. One spin earlier it would have been.. i dont even know how much. Never wanted to do the math. But at that moment i just thought to myself that this is the moment that ruined me. And turns out it did.

Sorry for the "oftopic" last time i quit it was due to:
I was dumped by my then girlfriend for other reasons, and felt like i hit rockbottom, so i just thought back then that what the hell. And just quit.

Money misspent, or gambling debts are never rock-bottom i.m.o., so let's get you some help before you do hit it!
Even with the income you stated vs. the current debt, you can make it right with a steady payment plan.
You should be able to organize that in such a manner, that you won't really have to get uncomfortable in your regular spending.

Quitting gambling of course would save you a TON, and that should be the priority indeed.
Unless you can get a grip of course, but i feel quitting is better, at least until you are back on track, and have your debts paid off!
I'm not saying you should prepare to return to gambling later, don't get me wrong, but i am saying that if, and when, it should be no sooner than at that point in time!

Sorry to ruin your old but good story. You would never have hit the same freespin round if you haven't changed the amounts of lines. It doesn't work that way :)

I suppose you're not that old then and don't have a family or small kids who need you. That's good.
If you didn't get help back then you were really strong. This time you might need help.
I suggest you take a look around the net what kind of help you can get where you live and then take it from there. You have to make the decision if you want to quit first or it's no use trying.
Just remember that noone else can do it for you, and it's tough. The rewards as you know are high though, and you do still have the possibility to a normal life.

Thanks to both of you for listening and the advice. I really apreciate it. :)
Haha, yeah i know i would not have hit it but it's the mindfuck that the game simply wants to screw with you even after you've already lost. Yeah. I really have to think about this all and then go all in- with quitting this time. Thanks once again, felt great to get this in the open.

You wouldn't have had the wild line had you played full 9 coins. It's just eye-candy that occurs when you play slots on less than maximum lines. Cleopatra does it, they all do it. Don't think about it.

The most important thing going forward is to realize you never won even if you did win - you weren't winning money, just the stake for the next session and so-on. The next important thing is not to keep thinking about the past losses - they're gone forever so write them off. It is now hard to for you to equate the fact it took a relatively short time to lose this money and will take much longer to pay the debts back. You are a gambler so probably naturally impatient, which is not good when years of repayment lie in front of you so right now you simply think 'what's the point?'

This is why it is important to admit the problem to those close to you and the creditors, and make a realistic long-term payment plan like Incrediblestuff said, which won't leave you finances too stretched in the meantime. If you commit too much in your impatience to repay the money, then your day to day life will get you down and that's when you may want to escape to gambling again.

Make the first steps to sort the finances out and as time goes on and you don't gamble, every day is one step towards the end of the tunnel. Good luck with sorting things out.

Yeah, just messed me up with that one. As already the odds tell you its nearly impossible to "hit" that on the one spin of say 30k spins made that month, with all others being 20p/9lines. Just fucking ridiculous that they do that to screw with your head.
And your absolutely right, whenever it gets shitty it just feels like there's no point to try so ill have to try to make a plan. Its just that theres so many creditors, but time will tell how this pans out.
Thanks for the advice and support. Means alot

Many years ago, before my kids and marriage came along I had a terrible problem with gambling offline.Pubs, clubs and bookies. Fortunately I met my mrs through work and I was able to pay my way domestically. Even during that time I resented the fact that I spent all of my wages like this and rarely had the money to do all of the other things I wanted to do with my earnings. Luckily I was able to use the motivation of responsibility to stop gambling totally dead for 15 years and until I felt I was totally in control.
Think about all of the things you can do with your future wages, like going places,,socializing and dating. Have some sort of plan for your money in coming months that has nothing to do with gambling which will make you feel positive and motivate you. Join a gambling addiction organisation if needs be and find a few friends there for mutual support.
Gambling can be a very solitary pastime so it could be a chance to reconnect with the things that are more important.
It really does not have to be all doom and gloom mate. Good luck.

My advice to you is to contact all the casinos that you are registered at and self-exclude permanently due to problem gambling and also have them unsubscribe you to all e-mails. Have a trusted friend go through all your e-mails and have them unsubscribe to any e-mails sent from a gambling site. I would also highly suggest you get something like Gamblock software installed in your computer so if you get the urge you cannot gamble and won't be able to see any advertised sites. Get the friend to set this up for you.

Making a financial plan and sticking to it in order to clear your debts is good but you do need to put steps in place so it doesn't happen again or else you will be back where you started from, in debt with no money.

Also attend gambling anon meetings and speak to your family doctor to see if there is any other treatment available to you. Addiction is product of a deeper problem be it boredom or depression etc. Dealing with these issues if you have them will help you to overcome your addiction and you will find much strength in that in the future.

So in summation if you want to be free you need to get serious about quitting by putting strong safety measures in place and seeking help. If you do this then soon you will be debt free and much happier.

Good luck and believe in yourself that you can do this.

you just need to stop and thats it.. im 31 and have had gambling problems all my life.. starting from the age of 12 in amusement arcades on holiday,, ive lost alot. ive won very little.. ive been in debt. ive lost countless jobs..
i havnt gambled in months now,. after a few weeks of not gambling you will just forget about gambling.

close your casino accounts most importantly close the accounts where your favourite slots are.

i found the best way to stop was to find another hobby in my spare time.

it really does get a tight grip on you. the more you lose the tighter the grip gets.

just slowly pay of the debt the best you can. if you cant pay the debt just say FUCK YOU.. also delete all emails related to gambling.

It's good that you at least have taken this step to talk about it. It's a start and the way to go.

this is the key, you have to capture the bad feeling and have it occur as a thought at the precise right time, I call it the "moment of truth".
I had one the other night, a little stressed and I thought of heading off to the land casino, but then I remembered what that could be like and decided against it.

When I stopped online, they offered me retention bonuses to keep the account(s) open, at first I was weak and accepted a couple but then got a little stronger and started to refuse them. I knew the retention bonus offers were coming with my request to close an account, so I put that in the email, "no I do not want any bonuses to keep the account open."

Bravery comes out in many different ways

I want to sew you a cape for broaching this. It was brave and strong and shows you are ready to face yourself full on. I wish you the best in your endeavours.

I have no clue what your insolvency laws are, here in Canada there is an option for a consumer proposal, think of it like the last resort before bankruptcy, they go to war on your behalf with the creditors and negotiate a reasonable settlement paid over 3 yrs, the interest is stopped and the debt usually halved or less, is this an option?

Once that stress of the financial burden is off its a lot easier to deal with the problems at hand, stress is a big trigger for escape, go to meetings, block everything, install Gamblock on all your devices and start taking your life back, this is something that is hard to do on your own, not sure your family situation but dealing the truth is the first step, your loved ones and true friends should be there to help.

Good luck.
