Starting to lose my love of slots...

Gambling, especially slots, seems to be a very much feast or famine type of affair.

As a mainly DOA/Gonzo's/JATB player, my experience has been both fantastic and abysmal.

So, Gonzo's. Play more or less daily, always on mobile. Had some times where i've had huge wins twice in succession or at least, within days of each other. Last time i had a big multiplier seems to be many, many months ago. Long overdue.

JATB, I do love this game but my god it can be tedious waiting for the big wins. Now that some sites have the update with the duration playing, it becomes laggy every 15 mins or so and needs to be restarted. That I hate.

And the kicker, DOA. What a game. 5 scatters, wildlines, multiple wins in rapid succession then nothing for weeks and weeks.

Thinking back to August and beyond, I've had a week or two of magnificent play, wildlines galore, "can't lose". Then weeks and weeks where I can't even get any decent playtime. There are times when single deposit of 20 quid will last a weekend with multiple withdrawals or at least, plenty of playtime. The last few weeks it's just been in 'full on drain mode' which is thoroughly depressing.

Don't get me wrong, I don't play just to win, i like the buzz, the anticipation when a feature starts - how might it go? Features have been so few and far between that more often than not i've had to stop to conserve my funds. Find that when i go back they just disappear again.

I have a playing pot which i replenish once a month if necessary but usually this gets topped up at least a few times during the month from wins but this last couple of months, with the very rare exeception this just hasn't happened.

It all seems rather cyclical and leaves me somewhat suspcious. But i'm not here for a tin-foil-hat discussion, rather just to have a moan 'cos its not been any fun playing recently.

Beyond this, having had to take some time out from playing i've found there are other things i'd often rather be doing, so i'm going to spend more time doing them.

Gambling isn't a problem for me, online slots just occupy me when i'm bored, but now, they're becoming boring. I'm thinking that i'll play a bit this week and if the gambling gods don't favour me then i'll be returning that appreciation by taking a bit of time out.

Sure nobody will read this, more a little whinge and commitment to myself.

Completely understand where you are coming from - I am in the same boat! I like playing, but has lost the appeal of late. Too many stories of non-payment, problems with casinos, etc etc. I am still waiting for a withdrawal to be approved, now coming up to 3 days after making the request. Their T&C's state there is a 48 hour pending period - have now seriously gone over this!

Seems to be too much stress involved and less enjoyment, especially when slots aren't paying so you don't get much play time.

Don't get me wrong, obviously there are good casinos out there where I play and love the free Battle of the Slots games at Videoslots, but the chat on there consists of many people whinging about not getting a bonus round, how bad the game is, etc etc. Do they really expect that everyone can win and make a profit? Blimey, it's a freeby, enjoy it and cut out the moans! Shame there is no option to mute the chat.

Oh, I read your thread and it is good to have a little whinge once in a while!

Surely someone will read it lol and actually couldn't have written it better myself

As you are my sessions are more so 'boredom busters' and as a low roller with a small 'pot' which I stick to (pat myself on the back for that one ) there for enjoyment, better than watching endless crap on TV and all I ask for is a little play time as little as one deposit in say 3-4, not asking much I feel.

A withdrawal is always very nice but not expected and I am sensible when those w/d's do come, treating myself / family and putting say 30-40% back in my playing pot when my luck is in!

As you say tho it has of late become more of a chore, the buzz, excitement and anticipation has almost gone and the sessions almost feel very 'flat' from the word go.

My mind set has also changed where I would be very optimistic at the start of a session, now its almost the total opposite.

Game wise I find myself commenting out loud...

* As the 3rd+ diamond 'crashes' in "Ahh finally, least I got £4 to play with, tut"

* As the DOA feature starts, first spin "Time to play spot the fucking wild again"

* As the reels continue to spin and the blood drips down "Fucks sake, one reel, no win again I suppose"

* As I hear the roar of the T-Rex "Fucking pointless, whichever twat programmed this feature which Isn't a feature????"

Been saying to wife for a while now, looking at a new hobby, but easier said than done when I play usually 7pm-10pm, can't exactly go Rock Climbing or White Water Rafting then can I :what:

Took breaks, drastically reduced deposits and tried new games, new casinos, still the rut continues.

I talk of online slotting not even been gambling anymore, Walk into the local boozer and play the same fruity, now and then you will win, play the same slots over n over online and its lose, lose, lose :confused:

Surely luck has to change soon but if it doesn't then it will be one deposit a week max.

Hope things improve for you real soon and cheers for this long awaited opportunity to have a rant also

Slot play has become very cyclical in recent months and it's a pattern observed by many others on here too. Often it's like this across all casinos wheras before you'd have a nice balance of winners and losers as evidenced in the Winners Screenshots.

Games like Gonzo have definitely changed in the last couple of years, it used to be far more frequent in its bonus rounds, and as for DOA I'm not entirely convinced the 'wildline every 150 rounds' theory still holds water.

Too many high-variance games have taken on another variance it seems. It used to be possible to accurately expect certain slot behaviours and approximate feature patterns, nowadays they are all over the place.

Too often will I get two features within 200-300 spins and then the inevitable happens, the long wait and puzzlement as the next bonus is nowhere to be seen. It should be called the 'two bonus and goodnight variance', cos that's all I see without fail on Netent and especially Microgaming

Slots have stopped being as fun as they once were, and this is all on games I thought I knew and still love to play. Their unpredictable and erratic nature has soured my experience on games I once considered classics. Tinfoil or not, getting no playtime on games you once had ample playtime on does make you wonder why game providers aren't more transparent with how their games actually work.

Great post Jon, I had to laugh at your thinking when playing, I totally recognise this.

Until recently was going in with optimism but recently it's turned into, "wonder how quickly i lose this deposit". On the rare occasion i've hit a feature its's been "fuck me, a feature, bet it's shit" and it is.

Lets all have a rant, i think its cathartic :)

Sorry to hear this. I have to confess, I only play at a handful of casinos, rarely venturing into a new one, they all pay out very quickly in most cases. If the processing is an irritation I'd definitely get the cash out and stop using them, vote with your wallet, they'll soon have to buck up their ideas.

I see that chat sometimes but rarely go into it. Usually as i've got my screen set at 33% so the games take up most space so i can barely see the chat.

Occasionally though, i do like it because some of the games that come up are terrible. For example, the Thunderkick games or Boom Brothers (oh man I *HATE* that game). If people are just whinging about losing though that's boring.

Don't use FOBT's very often for various reasons but one of them is the occasional lowlife who'll go in with his giro money, throw it into roulette, lose then start kicking off. I always think, if you're big enough to gamble you have to be big enough to accept your losses.

I notice that there are times where for an hour or two, absolutely no features occur on the likes of DOA. It is highly suspicious that these are full hours then bang on the following hour you get a feature and they start coming through more regularly. I don't entirely accept that, as it is regular and doesn't seem too random to me. But then, having felt i've spotted a pattern or two i've tested the theory and its led to a win. Could be coincidence of course but i'm wary. I accept that they may be compensated and just hope that i'm lucky enough to be playing on occasions when they get hot.

But you know, the amount you throw in waiting for that is barely compensated for most times when you do hit a win.

I'm only gonna put 100 quid in my pot this week, if i win, cool, if not, i'll be closing some accounts and putting deposit limits or timeouts on the others.

Well I'm about to subject myself to more self torture

Been and got a £25 PaySafe Card and going to take the 50% at Trada. (Double torture here as its one of my least lucky casinos but not much about in the way of offers today)

Hopefully a touch of Irony after my wonderful post full of positive vibes earlier  and something to inspire us all to post later, won't hold my breath tho.

Well, good luck. If it's no good, try this: keep a tenner back and play DOA between 0545 and 0615 tomorrow. No promises but after a shit weekend i find it can be hot then.

Expect the obligatory horses heads at the end of your bed tomorrow morning :eek2:

Also, turn the lights off, draw the curtains and take the phone off the hook

Haha :)

You'd be surprised. Always feels like using a fruity in a pub on a Sat/Sun morning, loaded up all night/weekend then blam, hot as hell.

I've been in the same boat recently. JATB has been awful to me at one casino who has seen me chase my loses while still low rolling to the point I spent up my play money for the month. But I except that I will not have good months so I have turned my attentions to elsewhere.

It has got to the point that friends and family have asked questions about why I have been so much more active socially and in my communicating that they assumed I was hiding bad news and was really making my last farewells!

Tin foil hat moment --> Are the casino's turning their RTP buttons to off in order to accumulate funds for the Christmas promo's and giveaways? :D

Some of my best wins have happened around this time, so.............

......yes :eek::eek:

In relation to my 'Try my absolute hardest to remain positive' post earlier, I have so far

Banged the keyboard 3 times, the mouse several more.

Almost put my fist thru the screen

Sworn more times in the last hour than I have life time

Utter Bollox

One of those sessions where I say 'Doesn't matter if your getting features (which I am) I'll still bust fast and be in bed by 9.

Fuck it lol

Ah but have you tried Unibet at 8pm this evening and found that they are still running the 8/9/10 and 11pm free spins?
That could help to salve your frustrations :D

I am off this week to the pound shop to get my Christmas shopping out of the way in order to make full us of those deposit bonuses and festive promos.
:cheerleader:

Why not. That's what I tell my partner.

"Listen dear, presents will be a little thin on the ground this year, same goes for the heating and food. But with some luck I'll get a triple-wildline on DOA after beating wagering"

With my recent slot escapades though, I think she may be getting another used card and pencil combo :(

Feck it Goatie. Just tell her they are funds from free spins with little chance of a cash out or your in demo mode.

OK I know exactly how the OP feels. I had that week at Sky that made me about 4k ( if you saw the videos) from 2 starts of a £30 1xWR free chip and a £100 deposit from those winnings. it saw me break records on Rhino (for amount not x stake) Twin Spin (both) and Book Of Ra (both). Despite the triumph of winning I felt even at the time it was quite strange, very coincidental.

Paid for new lounge suite in cash. Since then I couldn't hit a fucking thing. Any slot, any stake. So a free lounge suite and 2.5k cash has become, in the 3 weeks since, just a free lounge suite. Yep, 4k up into just over 1k up. Made 1.4k yesterday so back to over 2k up, today 250 swallowed. So I have called it quits at 2k up in the last 5 weeks, not bad but I still have trouble how 'random' slots have such distinct patterns of winning and it also seems like when you are meant to win at a casino it doesn't seem to matter what game you play, similarly when you are losing.

I have now placed a nominal £25 daily limit there, the only casino I play at. Not for the money, but the time and the fact it's getting tedious now. To enjoy the games I have to take a step back. So I have done so.

As you know I review the new games of note usually, and have seen next to nothing any good lately.

So yes, on the back burner for a while....

Every time I have hit my biggest wins ( far smaller than any of the big wins I have witnessed in here) I have been pretty quick to make a withdrawal.
I have often wondered if I have been too quick to withdraw and instead recognised it as a chance to capitalize on my winning streak by upping my usual 40p or so bet to £1 or over? That to me seems like the best chance of hitting the really big wins.
But I think I value what I do win too much

Been saying this (not particularly regularly on here, in general) for as long as I can remember.

Makes me feel great and not to mention a little paranoid hearing it from 'Captain Tin Foil' himself :p

That £25 dipper I just had has provided no entertainment whatsoever, all that's come of it is a missing game, an MG 'achievements' reset discovery (super mad that got me, hate 'all wins x5') back ache, a headache and an early night!

Think I will defo be joining you on that 'Back Burner' for a while. 2-3 'Days off' per week will now become 5-6.

I actually felt just like I was literally robbed, probably felt worse by winding myself up before the depo with my negativity in this thread but the outcome will work in my favour in the long run ;)

I haven't played all week as the week before was terrible. After my big DOA win nothing at all.

I have played at all my fav casinos no luck and money just goes too quick.

I think everyone has a turn of hitting the big one or being on a good roll but it's just not our turn yet :(

I think towards the end of this month, November and December will be hot for us all. Trying very hard to be positive ;)

Wishing you all beautiful members a very lucky hot streak especially before xmas :)

I don't think my time will ever come on DoA! And I agree with a previous comment - the freespins usually came within 150 spins, but of late I have gone 300+ spins between getting 3 scatters and if lucky, get one wild up on reel 5 in free spins!.

I used to play at a few casinos but have now narrowed it down to just a couple - ones with no fees, quick payouts, loyalty rewards and with simple to use limit settings and responsible gaming attitudes. The outstanding withdrawal (still pending after 3 days) was at a casino I used to play at and now remember why I stopped playing there. Needless to say that account will be closed to stop me returning and stressing as to whether I will get paid or not! And yes, I have now dropped down to being a low-roller with basic £20 a week deposits until there seems to be an upturn!

Unfortunately I also find there are too many games I like - Immortal Romance, Terminator, Raging Rhino, Secrets of the Stones, Game of Thrones, Book of Dead, CFTBL, WOZ, South Park, etc etc, so always a frustrating dilemma which one I spend my pennies on!

Well, other than the two big DoA free spins hits at the end of July and September my slot play has been mostly unlucky as of late. I had a small cashout at PlayOLG.ca and a small win or two at the locals but there have been a lot of busts. I have decided to branch out into blackjack and roulette via Leo Vegas. I did have two nice cashouts from mostly playing table games there.

It just seems that the slots, regardless of the manufacturer, are tighter as of late. Can't get free spins, way too many close calls and too many dead spins/low wins. Really frustrating.

All in all, I'm only down $662 in 2016 and I play almost everyday but I dread playing the slots nowadays. I would suggest playing blackjack (roulette is too risky) online to mix things up.

I haven't been to the locals in a couple of weeks. Will go back Friday.
