Hahahahahaha!!!

I'm not from New York but this is great news. For too long our government has been trying to legislate every move we make, 'for our own good', of course. Somebody should start a State for those of us that don't want our hands held every step we make.

Honest to goodness... if they want to fight obesity... shut down all the fast food joints... pizza hut, macdonald's, kentucky fried chicken, and all the candy and cookie makers... Hershey's, etc., etc.,.... and while they're at it... incarcerate all moms who don't cook 3 healthy meals a day... lock up the people who weigh more than the gov thinks they should and sentence them to healthy meals, free health care, and laps around the track daily. Remove all chairs from office buildings and make employees stand at their desks and jog rather than sit...

I mean come on... where does this nanny state thing end?

This was some crazy shit.

Bloomberg: "we found a direct link between obesity and drinking soda."

Solution? Blame the soda!

Reminds me of a certain gun debate....

Except you drinking soda won't get me, or anyone besides you, killed....weirdest comparison ever, me thinks.

Some people need to be held for life. Laws are there to protect us from people who can't behave, whether it is going crazy with a rifle or over eating which leads to all sorts of diseases and misery which cost a lot of money in the end.

What a stupid rule and an incredible waste of taxpayers' money arguing about it. If people need to pollute their bodies with garbage, no law is going to stop them. They'll just buy two sodas instead of one.

It's not just sodas, it's what they have learned about feeding their bodies and maintaining a healthy body.

Oh, but Bryan...no, the cinema operators were nervous of people buying 2 or 3 16 oz sodas PLUS a popcorn bag.....can you imagine the mess, if they tripped in the dark?

Actually meant to give Weesie a "thumbs up" but not possible in the political section.

If Bloomers wants to "Legislate" he should get the state congress to legislate a law, pass it to the governor, and not try to implement by "executive order". The judicial branch was correct in shooting this down.

Clearly people who come up with these things aren't heavily into nutrition / training and in general a true healthy lifestyle.

I'm eating a fairly healthy meal right now. I fasted yesterday as I like to give my body a break from all the small meals I normally eat. Well this healthy meal I'm eating is about 3-4 times the actual portion I should be eating.

You can't "fix" obesity as people will over eat, and even healthy items in excess will cause weight gain. " Bad" items at the correct portion wouldn't be a weight gain problem, but more of a inner health / overall health problem.
