P.V. suggested that while I'm waiting to fund my casino, I start processing small amounts of bitcoins. I don't know anybody who's used bitcoin at all, or tried to convert them in and out of currency. I'm wondering how people feel about it... so, here's an informal poll...

Oh... you know the US doesn't like it if it doesn't control it...

ST. LOUIS (Thomson Reuters Accelus) – Two senators are pressing federal authorities to crack down on an online black market and "untraceable" digital currency known as Bitcoins after reports that they are used to buy illegal drugs anonymously.

Democratic Senators Charles Schumer of New York and Joe Manchin of West Virginia wrote to Attorney General Eric Holder and Drug Enforcement Administration head Michele Leonhart in a letter that expressed concerns ...

An internet-goer who put his faith in a risky new currency recently saw over $450,000 worth of Bitcoins — a digital form of money supported solely by its own users — disappear from his computer. A Bitcoin devotee with the somewhat appropriate web handle "Allinvain" has become the poster child for why the new form of money may never catch on.

While the U.S. dollar struggles to keep its head above water, some intrepid web users are putting their faith in the experimental type of currency called Bitcoins. Bitcoins were created in 2009 as an alternative to modern currencies, and are completely decentralized and entirely digital. Users exchange cold hard cash for the cyber dollars...

Yeah...I'm really glad we backed off this at the last second. I was watching the whole collapse with this combination of horror and fascination...soooo close to wiping us out if we'd done it. It was sheer grace that told me not to turn it on last week.

This thread is from 2011.

Why you dragged it out of history is beyond me. There are many threads, I think,

about bitcoin. You chose probably the oldest to resurrect ...... why?

I have been using btc for quite a while now and aside from an occasional hiccup

it works great.

Is it not pretty obvious why he brought this up? I mean, I see the guy was banned for being a prick, but he did have an easy to digest point... had this person started accepting bitcoins in 2011, and kept just a fraction of them without converting them to FIAT, they'd be quite wealthy. Just $100 of bitcoin at market prices in 2011 is now worth over $1,000,000 USD.

I don't agree with bumping 6 year old threads to be an asshole to the OP either.... but I see why it was done :)
