Just had word from Go Wild

" ...the option of using the downloaded version of the Casino on PC & mobile is not available anymore, you will be able to play on browser (on the website PC or mobile) only."

Also noticed other download versions not working because the .exe file has been removed, Wild Jackpots (obviously since it is a Go Wild sister) and Platinum Play casino. Both have upgrated sites.
Also another Digimedia casino, Red Flush, has changed to a web-like form and basicaly when you open the download icon on your pc it opens a small browser window.

32 Red viper not working for me either, despite several attempts to resolve :( Missed out on 50% yesterday as It hit 12 midnight and I'd still not sorted it. (Have all my achievements/choice of features on 243 ways on viper being the reason I didn't play browser)

Hope this isn't permanent and across the board, download play is the way slots are MEANT to be presented and far betters browser/flash/HTML5 stuff.

Dont surprise me its all going to be html5 .... the days of client software for gaming are seriously limited now. Html5 is superb as you can do so much with it, but the transition I know can take time. But its here to stay and the days of viper will soon be just a distant memory.

I stopped playing download MG when Ladbrokes dropped them, the instant flash play totally different to download and I refused to play them except for the occasional dabble.

I used to play Gold Factory a lot in the old days but it was definetly different on instant.

Ladbrokes regular gave out 50+FS on this slot via their FB promos and Weekend FS offers, wager free too.

Defo miss the good old (and fair) days. :(

Viper can still handle HTML5 games. All the latest MGS games are HTML5, and all available on Viper

32Red download was working fine for me last night, and it's loading ok tonight. So it hasn't gone yet :)

About Go Wild, they just locked the accounts at viper, you can only login with your email at the new site.
Also they don't support tournaments any more, if you were in the midle of a big one you got .... :xxx

Digimedia has better site I think, all tournaments there.

Yes but with almost all casinos now going multi platform and im sure 32red etc are to follow unless there is some "new" client to take on all games then the download version will be killed off.

Its as good as dead in the water and its just a matter of time before it disappears totally. In browser is the way it is all going ... and without the limitations of the now archaic viper set up.

And as Broadband speeds continue to increase we are going to see some great innovations ...

Watching a Dunover video and he says you don't get features on Quickfire and it's true, download casino the come up quite a lot but not on the Quickfire versions.

Strange that the licensees involved have apparently not specifically advised their players on a move as significant as this...?

Yeah, that is frustrating. You'd think they would know better to address this via a PR - especially if it affects gameplay. Some of the browser games are pathetically bad versions. Thunderstruck I for instance.

Just to add - where have all the video poker games gone? Microgaming is the lead producer of video poker with it's different versions of Power Poker and Level Up. These are not available via flash as far as I know.

And Power Poker in the browser is painfully clunky. I hope they aren't throwing VP under the bus in favor of mindless slots. No other software provider compares to MGS when it comes to VP.

I've said until I'm blue in the face for the last 2 years that the Viper MG casino is archaic and anachronistic and will be on borrowed time, firstly because multi-platform and html5 is the way things are going and secondly it's useless for the ever-increasing mobile device market. I can't say I didn't like it, when it worked OK, because you don't get that f*cking f*cking f*cking dreadful lag on them like you do on Quickfire when the spin will be a winning one.

Have you noticed also how Quickfire are providing more and more slots from other developers, like 300 Shields? The Viper is simply a colossal waste of disc and drive space and is surely the cue for the old MG-only sites to start offering a better range of games. I know it may have Vinyl crying into his coffee because first they took away his AWPs and now the tournaments will have less and less take-up and prize money.

Unfortunately the mobile/html5 and flash generation have superseded the old Viper crap now.

I think they are only referring to THEIR OWN casinos - and that's because they are moving to a multi-software option.

Other operators I have spoken to say they are sticking with Viper for now.
I hope that's true, because I NEVER play MG games in "flash" - but ONLY via download. As long as there is one Viper left - it will be them that get MY deposits...

Yes, I see video poker but not all. Just 24-25 and no level up, except the new download/webish Red Flush thing that has level up and all other kinds video poker as far as I can tell.

Maybe some accounts get locked later than others. I don’t know really. If Gia could come and answer would be nice.

I agree, Go Wild is the only one that said it will no longer support the download version and the tournaments. It was a bit sudden though and given the things I noticed in Digimedia group I wanted to get a heads up for any future changes from the other MG casino reps.

This sucks if it true, despite its shortcomings I like the viper client; the ability to play 2-3 games at once with a tournament going as well, most web interfaces only allow playing one game at at time.

Maybe they have just decided to write it off, as its so bloated and an absolute mess beyond saving, missing auto-play on many games, random freezing, "memory cannot be read" errors (i tested my memory with memtest its def the client) missing games in the "new games" section, constant tournament problems- missing tournaments, games not loading, rebuys and addons not registering etc etc.

The amount of money they must make cant they just make a new client from scratch.

Well, today I tried to download again the casinos with missing .exe files. This time the files were added. Talking about Platinum Play and Wild Jackpots.
So, for now, only Go Wild left the download version and only Red Flush changed to a weblike one.
Also, it looks like that if others do the same we will only find out afterwards.
