ID'ed at GoWild

Humm...
I was wondering how many players have experienced having to go through an ID verification on their first withdrawal at GoWild, or or that matter any casino. Go Wild did. Is it because i have a IP address from Costa Rica. Is it because I am just ugly and they don't like me? I deposited 100$ and played a an hour or so on Live Roulette. Besides decoding online casinos bonus requirements to see how they stack up, I like to do a withdrawal as well to get the feel of the casinos integrity. Actualy Bonus terms (for me) say a lot about how the casino thinks and is going to take care of it's players. In any case when I clicked on GoWilds withdrawal tab, live chat came up automatically and wanted to "talk". (talk me out of a withdrawal perhaps) When I confirmed twice i wanted to withdraw she said I needed to send ID. I always have the set on the desk top for finance depts.
But the whole thing turned me off.

How many casinos ask for ID when there was no money won, no bonus, deposit was played through once and no mistakes upon registering?

That is my Question

I wouldn't personally stress it. GoWild has auto pop-up windows attached to different areas in their casino, like promotions, cashier etc even when I didn't initiate or want the pop-up/chat.
If your details are sound and real, just send them. I always get my GoWild wd in less than 24 hrs and my docs (1st time around) didn't take much time to verify. Asking for identification in my opinion, is a perfectly acceptable request from the casino.

3Dice never asked me for ID. Although I think they probably know me well enough already. :p

Every single RTG casino I've ever played at asked for ID before a withdrawal would be processed. I think it's a rule across the board.

I don't remember who the last MGS casino I withdrew from was but I have no recollection of ever sending any MGS casino anything. I haven't withdrawn from very many Microgaming casinos though. If you're going to play MGS, I'd recommend 32Red. They seem to be the most hassle free.

You might like the bonuses at other casinos better but personally I'd take a less generous bonus if it means I have no hoops to jump through at withdrawal time.

Ok then. I won't hold it against GpWild for asking for the docs. My experience has been a bit more relaxed with some other casinos like VC, WH, Celtic, Nordic and a few more. When I make a mistake in registering I get iD'd and I understand it. This time it was like right off the bat. I just felt that if a casino is going to ID every player no matter, perhaps they should ask you for iD at registration like Betfair does. But no never mind. I wont hold it against them.

I appreciate all your opinions. It levels me out. I will continue then with GoWild. I will send them my id today. I am a webmaster for a live casino portal. I play a LOT of live games all over checking out their support, integrity, terms for bonuses (really a pet thing for me), and withdrawals. I enjoy the experience and have learned a lot. I appreciate having a player forum I can come to. I haven't been here for a long time. I will try not and get in the way.

I love Allslots. I always win there. I got a real good going over for docs though. I had registers there 2 years earlier and never played. I had forgoten I joined. When I joined again and asked for a withdrawal of a few hundred I had won, they ID'ed me. I needed an "up-to-date" passport, not the expired one I sent them. I needed to go down and get it renewed. They are good people though.

Being asked for ID is very much the norm, and it has nothing to do with whether or not something gets flagged from your registration details. A few operators will use electronic verification, and this is why some operators appear not to be too bothered about "documents" being scanned and sent.

The standard is 1x photo ID and 1x proof of address. If a card has been used, they will want proof of possession of the card, normally a back & front image, along with a signed authorisation form covering the deposits.

It is when they ask for further documents that a player can tell something has caught their eye about the validity of the account, such as a mistake during registration.

In the past, many larger operators didn't bother with their own ID procedures if all deposits came from somewhere like Neteller, which itself carries out verification of customers. Now, operators will not rely on the procedures of an eWallet, and will carry out their own ID checks, whether electronically or by requesting documents.

I would also like to add that Malta in recent months has tightened up their requirements regarding account verifications. So even those license-holders in Malta that usually have paid out smaller amount without any verification will probably now ask for documents regardless of the size of the amount.

Trust the LGA to tighten up minor issues when long standing MAJOR issues remain with the level of player protection one gets from a Malta license:mad:

I'm of the opinion that casinos should apply identical 'KYC' methodology to both deposits and withdrawals.

If they're happy to take your money at a certain level of 'verification', they should damn well pay it back out at that level too.

I got burned a few years ago, wasn't MG software but one of other 'big ones', took hundreds off me in deposits, then I finally got a reasonable run on the slots and tried to make a withdrawal, (less than 50% of what I'd deposited with them and requested back to the same card I'd made all my deposits with), and all of a sudden they needed scans of utility bills and my driving licence and samples of my DNA and extended family trees before they'd give me any money back.

I just told them to forget about it, got them to reverse my winnings back to my account, played the balance out at silly stakes (I figured if I hit over ÂŁ1000 I'd think about jumping through their hoops), bust out in fine fashion, and never played at that entire chain of casinos again or any casino that used their software.

That was about four years ago and any casino running their software has not seen one single penny of my money since then.

Unfortunately every casino in the world would have to apply this method, after all if a customer had to send in documentation at 'Casino A' before they can make a deposit why not just skip it and go to 'Casino B' which requires no documentation until withdrawal.

I prefer to go for the option of 'don't play at casinos that require extra documentation when I try to withdraw' - generally speaking MG casinos are solid for this (certainly the established and trusted ones are), Jackpot Party are brilliant, I've not started to play at 3Dice yet so I'll withhold judgement on them.

I gave up on Playtech and RTG casinos years ago, they're the worst for deciding it's document time when you want to withdraw. IGT casinos are somewhere inbetween, I will still play at them though.
