Hi,

I have been having some bad runs lately on slots.
Particulary frustrating are those runs where you can't hit anything. You are hoping for that bonus round to come but spin after spin it just won't happen. :sob:

Just to make me feel better (or worse ) I would like to know from other players:
What is your maximum amount of spins ever on a slot getting NO/NOT ANY bonus round/free spins feature.

Or am I the only one keeping track of this??? :)

My record: No bonus/free spins during 778 spins on the pay dirt slot

I don't think many players keep 100% accurate records. I do myself, but I rarely go much past 300 spins on any slot before giving up & moving on. If I kept playing it would just drive me (more) insane! :eek2:

I've actually only played PayDirt once when I took a HUGE welcome bonus at Slots Oasis; I had beginners luck & hit the free-spins on just my 10th pull. I wish I hadn't though because I thought it seemed a good slot... until it then went 360 spins with no feature and taking $881 off me before I finally gave up.
(Wagered $1,750, lost $881 = return 49.7%)

Several 1000+ on MG, one on RTG and one on Rival.

And so many over 500 and 600 that I lost count a long time ago. And when you finally get the feature it usually pays the standard 15-20xbet or even worse.

This is exactly what i was going to ask. Does it make sense to spin that long?
I don't like counting spins but i don't think i go more then 200 without a feature, i give up and try to find another game... because in a few cases when i was stubborn and did, it was not worth it, wasted both time and money...

i dont usually go over 150 spins on a slot unless im getting smaller wins that keeps my balance around even, if i go to a slot and it just eatsup my bankroll ill leave it a bit sharpish

No, definitely not. But you think that you "must" get the feature.

+300 spins without a feature is very common at MG and doesnt always mean a bad session if you get good line wins. I hardly ever win anything more than 15-25x bet from the features anyway.

Very interesting as I also had a very bad run on the very same slot Tonight.
I have not had the playlogs to check how many spins but I would guess at least 700 spins.
Which Casino was this at and over what time period/zone?

I had a bad run at 2 RTG casinos last night, could hardly get free spins and they paid very little. Before that it was not so, well occasionally i do get a stubborn game but last night it was really bad
So i am curious if this might be indeed related to the latest upgrades that they just had.
i am paranoid... :eek2:

No, it isn't paranoia....I lost 3 deposits in the same casino in a blink of an eye which is very unusual for them to suck my funds so quickly...They have been one of the ones I would withdraw from every few deposits for YEARS, but since the update zilch.....now they too are gone..

Casino was Cherry Red. Period of time.. let me check the log..1 hour 16 minutes. I made some deposits too :mad:so guess play time was about an hour. That's a long time. Also after the 778 spins I had enough of it and quit the session for the day. So I didn't even get the feature that night
The next day tried again and got it after 50 spins :p

Also had a 500 plus session without bonus on the field of green slot.

Question: Is there any use in keeping playing the slot because you think it must payout eventually or isn't this the case?
Guess you have as much chance and maybe even better chances to win on other slots right? The payout percentage is totally random no matter what slot you play?

I think its funny
Last night I played at an RTG casinoi and I love caesars Empire..I know I went almost 500+ spins before I got a feature........I play 20/40
In the feature , no cesars appeared, and for my 10 spins I got 18 cents CENTS not dollars LOL So I finally got busted

Used my comp points $4.75 , now up to 84 bucks Still playing Caesars Empire Some heavy hitters are here again The jackpot reel is spinning faster than the game reels!

Your overall return in the Casino if you play long enough will be between 85% and 93% barring a miracle hit.
The actual return on each slot should be 93% to 97% on average given that the results are totally random and this % should not change.
Unfortunately the slots play in streaks so on a bad streak you simply wont hit a decent win and on a good streak you will be hitting like its your Birthday.
If a slot is dead then no it is not worth chasing because it is due you are just suffering a bad streak that is set in stone.

Roll with the bad times and cashout in the good and you should get your monies worth of entertainment.
Over 700 spins for a bonus round is not that exceptional but as you have probably noticed wins dry up at the same time so your balance can disappear fast so if you want to continue to play change slot and if that isnt hitting keep jumping from slot to slot, at least that way you don't get stuck in a rut.

I continue to play on these dead slots because I enjoy watching how the software works but if you have more sense you will try another slot or better still log off.

Sometimes I'll be the first to admit that I don't have any sense whatsoever! ;);)

:lolup:I know what you mean. I played wheel of wealth and it ate up 500.00 so fast and when I did hit the feature it paid 20.00..that slot is my nemesis..I hate it and can't stay away from it...lol

good thing I had a good bankroll or I'd be kicking myself still.

Wow do I identify with that. Rival's Scary Rich is my thing......we have a love/hate relationship but I go back for more. Kinda like some men isn't it? ;)

Well that's just it. I play for entertainment. I am kind of new to these slots and did not know they play in streaks. I have been playing different slots for a week or so and usually I can play many hours having fun, winning a bit losing a bit. Last few days however suddenly BOOM :p the slots goes dead and I hit nothing anymore. No fun in that

I have been having a few of these sudden streaks in the past few days. Guess next time I'm going to move slots earlier or I just quit for the day....at least I'll try too ;)

The answers to your 3 questions depend on each person's personal opinion, here are mine:-
1. If you are talking about hitting the feature, then yes I think the longer you spin without a feature the more likely it is to hit because it has to meet it's long-term average. Think of a roulette wheel where the Green is the 'bonus feature'; over an infinite period it must hit 1 in every 37 spins, but you could easily go 150-200 spins without getting it, or hit it 3 times in 20 spins. You just never know. BUT... hitting the feature (as we all know) does not necessarily mean we'll get all our lost money back - you could still win zilch! :(
2. As per above, I think you have a slightly better probability of hitting the feature on the current slot. Not a better chance though - each spin is random & independent so you have the individual slot's same odds of hitting the feature on each & every spin.
3. Some think it is, some think not. Each person have to make up their own mind.

Talking of streaks, this is what happened to me playing Mega Moolah for a Ladbrokes promo last night:-

Old Attachment (Invalid)

End results; 91 spins, 6 lots of free-spins (one re-trigged), 1 bonus wheel, 469 profit... :D

Note: Just to put into perspective just how bloody lucky I was; the chances of hitting the free-spins feature on

is once in 146 spins - I hit it 6 times in 91 spins... you do the maths!

Tx for the insight.
It's true that the longer it takes before you get a free spin feature the more chance you will have getting it. However a few times I stopped playing a slot after many spins without a feature, started a session on another one hit the feature within ten spins:thumbsup:.

I have one other question though. Say for instance you have four consecutive bad streaks in the same casino. I sometimes close my account with casino's that don't do well for me. Is that a smart thing to do or should I sit it out as I have more chance hitting a good run on that particular casino instead of joining another casino where I have no history? :what:

By the way: Very nice winning streak hitting all these features in so few spins. :notworthy
I haven't had such a run like for a long time, hope that will happen for me soon too

If you believe online slots are truly random, then switching casinos will make no difference at all.
If you believe online slots are not random (i.e. they are rigged), then you have to decide if you really want to play at all in the first place...

I'm not telling you what to believe - that's up to you.
I think it's fairly obvious what my opinion is; Everyone, but everyone has good streaks & bad streaks - to me that's just the nature of the beast.

I think this thread reiterates and reinforces something we already know: free spins will not necessarily hit after x spins, and just because it takes xxx spins to get them, there is nothing to suggest they will pay more than peanuts.

KKs strategy is right - if the spins don't hit within 300 or so, move on. Chasing the free spins is pointless, even on slots where the majority of the payout comes from the bonus round. You'll find most of the time it will just drain your bank and then make you even more annoyed when you realise the bonus round wasn't worth the wait. Or the money!

I have got a new personal record of 1300+ spins in RTG (who else) - big shot. Costs of those spins: total of almost 80 euro playing 1ct/line  Off course I did not get it at all before going to zero. Should not have chased it!

I find that without the features, RTG slots pay very very little. If I make a deposit and don't hit a feature I'm broke in minutes regardless of what game I'm playing.

Personally I think the free spins is the easiest way to control the payout percentages on these slot games. It's possible when the free spins stop coming it's probably just the casino raking back in any money it might have lost.

With no free spins everyone playing is just going to go broke.

Too bad someone can't have a look at the software itself and see what the hell it's doing with those random numbers.
