Visited Kranjska Gora in the Slovenian Alps last week for a short summer break. Its a Ski Resort in Winter but has many summer activities eg: numerous hiking routes, beautiful lakes, a summer lift and toboggan ride (great fun) ,stunning scenery etc

Flew from London to Ljubljana, Hired a car at the airport as its a 60k drive. Stayed in the Korona Hotel and Casino and have to say was very impressed with the casino. It was very big with over 350 modern slots, and many table games. They had 3 BJ tables min €2 to €5 euros. one was a 6 deck game, one a double deck game and one a 4 deck shufflemaster game. Had 4 roulette tables and 3 card poker, caribbean stud etc

Well worth a visit as its in a stunning location winter or summer and everything is very cheap!

We had a 4 night break including flights and hire car for £550 all in for me and the missus!

Hope it helps someone :)

It's really nice - there's also another casino not far from my Graz office called Casino Mond, just on the main road to Slovenia and right after the border with Austria, which is not bad either :)

Sounds fabulous - what was the hotel accommodation and food like?

Hotel was 4*, and I would say its conformable but not luxurious. The food at the hotel buffet was mixed. Breakfast was great (You have the usual selection of cereals, fruit, cheeses croissants etc and order things like full English, Omelettes etc to be cooked in the kitchen for you). The dinner buffet was a bit disappointing to be honest. (There are many restaurants literally 2 mins walk into the town centre though) They also have an a la carte restaurant but we didnt try this, preferring to go into the town on 3 of our nights.

We are actually thinking of going back next summer as its such a beautiful location, and the casino is really nice.
