The never ending quest for the perfect domain, what do you think of this one?

So I have quite a few sites in my portfolio already, but one thing that bothers me is that while I am pretty happy with the content on my sites, I really feel that I haven't found the "perfect" domain name yet.

A while back I registered stickywilds.com and I have been planning on doing something with that domain for a long time, but I am really not sure what I think of it. In my opinion it is catchy, easy to remember and has a slot playing ring to it.

But I am really interested in knowing what you guys think of it? Would it be a suiting name for a site focusing on slots?

It maybe doesn't explain the breadth and scope.of what you do but it does ring slots.
I'd imagine youll get a fair few hits just from people searching those 2 words.
Once you have a following as well it's easy enough to always recall.

Any one else got some input on this domain name? Is it a suitable name for branding?

Must admit I quite like it. It runs the risk of making people think it's focus is too narrow and I think ranking it for anything outside of that narrow sphere of influence will depend on building a site that users love but it has potential IMO.

By the by, I don't think there is such a thing as the "perfect domain" until you make it so.

It's very precise - I have 243wayslots as you can see, much broader in definition than stickywilds and it struggles despite all the content it has, as it's a niche name like you have. As Simmo! says it's what you add to it. I could buy say 'transferringwilds.com' or 'expandingwilds.com' or even stackedwilds.com' and the result would be the same.

My next domain will be 'pointlesslastfreespinanimations.com dedicated to Netent slots - we'll see how that one goes...:D:D

P.S. for more traffic I'd suggest 'stickypanties.com'

stickypanties.com..... :D

Thank's for taking the time to reply, really appreciated.

I know that stickywilds is something of a niche domain name, but I was planning on using it more as a brand name. So it was never meant to drive traffic through exact searches. As you say, that niche is way to small to invest any time into it. I just think it sounds cool and it is easy to remember, a bit like wild-reels.com perhaps.

It is not easy to come up with a brandable name, that has an online slots ring to it and that is not taken, that's for sure.

And I agree with you Simmo! that there is no such thing as the perfect domain name, but when you really commit to a page and put a lot of hours into it, you wan't it to be as good as can be.

I own videoslotters.com, which is obviously a good slot playing name plus can be a site brand too. I just haven't got around to doing anything with it yet. The fastpayingcasinos.com name is the best few quid I ever spent, especially when I analyse the Google search terms that lead to organic traffic and how it's performed for me overall. When I look back I often wonder why it was available considering that 99% of similar url's were gone and some not as succinct in my opinion. Beats any bit of luck I ever had on a slot! :D;)

I suppose what I am saying is that it's very rare to find a domain name left, especially in slots, that 'does the work for you' like that one did for me and the best approach is again like Simmo! said - concentrate on the content, the keywords and focus you want and the domain name, although it should still be related to the subject, becomes far less important.

Anyway, back to working on my slottingsluts.com site...
