lol seriously. Ok so here's the deal - I was reading an article on the News App on my computer - the one that ships with Win 10 and grabs news from different sources and tosses in a couple ads here and there. When you get to the end of the article it shows some other content you might be interested in, and this one (which I knew was an ad) caught my eye because the guy in the photo kinda looks like someone I know. I clicked it so I could see if there were more pics of the guy and then I was going to send it to him - for a laugh really.

So here's the ad:
aff1.jpg

I've saved the link if anyone wants to see it, but it's got a bunch of base64 in it. Anyhow, the link goes to a website page with a pic at the top (which doesn't include the pic of the guy from the thumbnail) and I see it's just a full page ad. I was going to just leave, but decided to scroll down to see if there was a pic of the guy, and then I noticed there was a jackpot picture. So then I went back and read the whole thing and did screenshots. I included the comments too because they're fake. There is a comment form but I tried leaving a comment (Using a fake email of course because I'm no dummy!) and it gave an error. Although it's possible that it's capturing email addresses for spam too.

The rest of the site seems to be just a bunch of random stuff, and possibly they don't know this page is on their site. But it's also possible that the whole website is just a bunch of recycled content from other sources and its only purpose is to to serve ads like this.

Is this an actual approved marketing tactic? Obviously if the website was hacked to include this then the answer is no, but even the rest of it? At least they didn't say that the people won jackpots with the bonus.

I've found a lot like that lately, and they have all been in Swedish, and all for LeoVegas.

No I haven't reported them but I guess that's how they do it these days.

Btw I keep my jaw up :p

Considering the MEGA jackpot on Mega Moolah starts at £1,000,000 the photo is fake to start with

Yeah I noticed that too. Lots of things off about this - the guy playing from Canada with currency in £, he and his GF both using the bonus - and not only that, the money was in his bank the following afternoon! Also did you notice that his bank balance was actually less than what he deposited?

There's a lot of funny and I suspect SEO stuff going on at the moment; Google news alerts have been swamped for several months now by strange entries ostensibly from a plethora of previously unheard of publications. It really clogs things up and wastes one's time, but Google does not react when these daily events are reported.

The girl washing the car is much more interesting. :)

Failure to get a grip on this is going to see the casinos reputations dragged through the mud, and in some cases censure from regulatory bodies for continued failure to address the problem.

If these are the result of "media buys", the regulatory danger will be even greater because it will reflect a due dilligence failure on the part of the operator, not something they can so easily blame on unknowingly allowing a rogue affilliate to slip through the net since the schemes are open to amateurs as well as professonal marketing companies.

Oh! Well I never! It must be that Casino Rewards 'marketing firm' making these howlers again! It's NOT an affiliate at all lol.....

The two faces of CR again - the 'respectable' face which appears on CM and will of course 'take action' against these filthy bullshitters and the one we don't see, creaming the traffic in.

After their despicable cancer patient Canadian bullshit story I thought (stupidly) that we'd seen the last of this nonsense. I mean surely this (NOT an affiliate!) 'marketing firm' would have been dispensed with after the ad Bebo spotted, but obviously it's still going on. Follow the money and ye shall find....

This is about a casino from Casino Rewards group so maybe you should let Rene know.

This is a thread from July this year about the same kind of ad's, also a CR casino. https://www.casinomeister.com/forums/threads/this-rates-a-10-on-the-greasy-scale.79773/
The first one is shut down now but it's probably the same affiliate.

What's the point? What good did it do last time? How can it be the same affiliate? The reason I say that is because surely NO accredited casino would have allowed an affiliate to get away with that vile advert (your link goes to) and still have an account! And don't forget Renee said it wasn't an affiliate but a 'marketing company'!! Yes, I know Tirilej, I said that was bullshit back then too....:eek2:

You're correct. It was a marketing company, and it still are. It's also a huge one who now make the same kind of ad's all over the internet in all different kind of languages.
It mean they are getting bigger and that if we at least can get Rene and the gang to stop using that company we have done something.
Sitting here and write that we are angry will certainly not change anything;)

The link in the other thread didn't work for me, and I hope it didn't work for anyone now.
I also reported this thread so Bryan can take it up with them again.

Yes the website that was on is gone now. I was afraid the same thing would happen with this one so that's why I did the screenshots.

Guy who owns that website is an absolute spam hound. Does everything from erection pills, "Casino Hacks", Binary trading etc.

I have his direct email address if anyone wants it for further investigations ;).

I admire your faith in CR but if they didn't ditch them after the vile cancer story, what would it take for them to ditch them? Despite what they say on this forum, money is more important than rules and morals to CR. That's why they'll make the right noises on here then do absolutely f-all about it, as before. Money speaks louder than we do.

Casumo got de-accredited for far less IMO than CR seem to be getting away with......

I don't agree with you there, and I have never played at CR so it's not about having faith or not.
What I do believe is that being as cynical as you are now isn't the way to get anything done. Or you have a reason for sounding like that ;)

The good thing with having CR accredited is also that it's more easy to put any pressure on them than if they weren't.

I just got a PM from Renee, she asked me to send the link to the page, but now of course it strips out the encrypted link and loads different content. So basically there's no longer any evidence except for the screen shots. What a surprise.

EDIT: But wait....someone just sent me a message regarding this - it's still active. Thanks Sonict!

I've been in touch with Renee, and it's more than one marketing firm, and they are doing their best to put an end to it. They are concerned about it as much as you are - if not more - since misleading ads can end up being dealt with by the ASA, etc.

What really sucks is seeing this garbage, along with all the other "fake news" sponsored BS that CNN and a number of other websites host. CNN should be held accountable for this crap - just like any other website should be held accountable for their advertising. These ads should be reported to the host website as well. I've pretty much stopped reading CNN because of this. I've switched CNN out with the Washington Post as of late.

Actually there are tons of websites with this content. Someone just sent me a link to Men's Fitness and it's on there. Basically anyone who includes "sponsored content by Taboola" - which IMO is some of the worst garbage online and a sure way to make any website look like an amateur piece of crap.

I would find your argument easier to accept if you weren't talking about a group renowned and notorious for affiliate spam and excessive marketing mails too! So yes, I am cynical when it comes to CR.

Let's strip the argument back to basics: whether directly or indirectly, CR are paying somebody for this dishonest crap. That's the bottom line.

I find it odd Casumo were censured for this behaviour and CR haven't been. These two cases occurred about the same time and Casumo appear to have resolved it hence their re-admittance. If Casumo can do it, why not CR? As I said before, money talks.

Strip the parasite of its lifeblood (money) and it dies off or moves on. This clearly hasn't been done.

Casumo haven't solved their problems with affiliates. They are still just trying to do it. Besides they have had many many bad affiliates while so far we have just found 2 of these kind of ads from a CR casino. I haven't heard about spam from CR for a long time either.
Casumo is one casino only while Casino Rewards have plenty, so CR must do something right.

As I said it's not just Casino Rewards that are using this marketing company...or are being used in their ad's. Leo Vegas is too, and I'm sure there are others.

If that's the case then they should all be panned too.

If the casino has a UKGC license then let's stop pissing about and talking pointlessly on here and get straight into the action: (link below)

Luckily Chayton took a screenshot to keep the evidence so had CR been operating a UKGC license then we could have used it below. Remember, the ASA holds the paymaster (company) responsible so excuses about third-party 'marketers' or affiliates won't wash with them, unlike that poor excuse seems to with some on here.

In fact I might start the ball rolling with that bullshit Nektan DoA '50p stake' BS flyer.

Unfortunately I have only seen them when on my mobile but as soon as I find one on my computer too then I will...well is there any point in sending one in that is in Swedish?

Only to your local Swedish equivalent of the ASA which you presumably could if the business takes Swedish customers.

Unfortunately the rules here is not as hard. If it had been a casino regulated here then I could have, but since they are not, then the rules for ads are almost none existens. It will be better here very soon or at least in 2019.
