lost desktop using windows 10

I converted over to Windows 10 few months ago and everything went fine!

Now I discover I no longer have my "desktop" It just disappeared a few days ago
I googled "How can I get back my desktop" and was surprised I was not only one this has happened to.

Anyway the hundreds of directions to get it back just doesn't work or I don't understand the instructions.

Now I cant even find some of the shortcuts (icons)for some of my programs esp the online casinos.

Any suggestions?

When you say you have lost your desktop do you mean all the icons etc or something else.

The only things i know about missing icons etc are a couple of things you have most likely tried but here we go

Right click anywhere on your desktop a menu will appear hover over view and make sure show desktop icons is ticked,if it is already ticked then untick then tick again.

Create a new folder Again right click anywhere on your desktop and from the menu hover over new and select folder does this show up.

Switch to touchscreen mode then back again,to do this goto start/settings/system then tablet mode.

Create the god mode. To do this right click anywhere on your desktop and create new folder name the folder GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
Open the folder to see the available customization options/configuration settings,these are settings that are already available but if you do it this way they are all in one place plus it is a lot easier finding ones you need as they are all grouped.

If you need to you can always try resetting your pc.This option lets you choose between keeping your current files or removing them then reinstalls windows 10.

start/settings/recovery/reset this pc.

Yes I had no icons and no semblance of a "desktop" as i know it since the internet was born.

So I just started over reinstalling WIN10 Its fine now just lost a few file and forgot where i had my info such as credit cards , banks and sports sites etc
So all is well now

Lost progi

I set Win 10 and I have lost all programmes. It was the beginning of 2015. I don not know how do Win 10 work now - because I prefer Linux now. Good luck!
