I've been playing lots of poker over the last month at 32Red and it's a long and complicated story that deserves it's own thread but I'm not too impressed.
So, I'm looking for a replacement.

I'm not too interested in making money, I'm just looking for a good place to play while I'm still learning poker.

There's a poker tournament held weekly in my town that is to some degree sponsored by 888 poker.
And it gave me a thought; maybe I should try their poker room?

Before I do that I thought I'd enquire with anyone here as to whether or not 888 are honest people.
I'm currently just looking over some complaints about 888 and they don't look too honest, although I could be wrong.

Are 888 an honest operation?

The most trustworthy poker site is pokerstars. The only problem is that players are much better there.

I would avoir most playtech network poker sites. The Good rakeback deals you will find will be with the less trustworthy ones unfortunately.

Back in the days I was playing on the hive network on terminal poker but it is closed now. They own buzzpoker but I dont know If you can acess this network on this site anymore.

Avoid any 888 related properties like the plague.

MG network is Not so bad for small buy in tournaments.

Unibet has à really easy field of players when it comes to poker but If you encounter any kind of problems dont expect to receive any help from their support. They are the most clueless I have ever encountered. Its ridiculous.

What happened at 32 red poker?

Has anyone had specific complaints about 888poker though ? Because I know lots of pro/semipro poker players who play on 888 on a daily basis and I have never heard of any problems . Not that I am recommending the site but I wonder is their casino side and poker side run differently ? Maybe they just decide to be honest with their poker players (and keep collecting rake) and just screw over their casino players ?
If you are learning at low stakes tournaments then I think pokerstars is actually fine . I have tried lots of poker sites and play every day but I currently only play on stars and it's still my favourite site despite the downhill trend since the new ownership. There are a lot of very poor players in these tournaments and there is a wide choice of games to play from smaller fields to huge tournaments with big prizes . Especially the bounty tourneaments have a lot of loose fish in them although it can feel a bit too much like go allin and hope in those things. Sit n go's are ok too although check the rake in these because for example the new "Beat The Clock" 5 minute sng's are essentially unbeatable longterm because of the short starting stack , quick structure and very high rake

It's too long and too detailed. But one of my major gripes is that there's basically no support.

I've noticed that 888 are also a major sponsor in big poker tournaments.

Sure they may treat their poker players differently to casino players, but I think that's unlikely and it's probably not worth the risk to find out.

Ya never know until you try... I know someone who uses Cassava Enterprises which is 888 Holdings and has withdrawn quite a bit (But only by playing online slots) so, I know they payout.

I think like this all the time when it comes to sites that I haven't used but hey... I'm sure 888 would be closed down by now if it was THAT bad.

Maybe a small deposit to try their poker for yourself ? Smaller buy-ins ?

I don't have a clue with poker but everyone gets different experiences.. Good luck
