NextGen Doubleplay Superbet New Game Review Video

I'm really, really not a fan of these "bet more to unlock features" slots. Base bet is $0.25 while the total bet is $3.00 once everything is unlocked. It's a trap because the x18 wild isn't really a x18 since you've already "invested" x12 in each spin ($0.25 x 12 = $3). It pays based on $0.25 while the real cost is $3.

The multiplier is basically bullshit.

I like your reviews though :)

Someone who's not lazy (so not me) should calculate the difference in variance that you get when not picking the "enhancements" vs. picking them.

I had a quick look at that - there appears to be a very small, if any, difference. The slot pays 95.004 to 95.879% RTP. So there may be a tiny difference. If you check the multiples of stake compared to the increase in wild values etc. the wins basically pro-rata up. Which begs the question why in the first place??

The RTP is the same for sure, but variance-wise is it the same as well? If I were to bet $3.00 a spin with no enhancement, I'd get fewer but bigger wins wouldn't I?

Edit: a line win at $3.00 a spin with 6x multiplier (in the free spins) is = to $0.25/spin with 36x multiplier

So yes, no enhancement should have higher variance.

Yes, and you'll also notice the centre wild (which is the only reel) comes in quite frequently too...:)

So basically this thing is all smoke and mirrors (even more so than a regular slot). You "enhance" the slot naturally thinking that adding wilds everywhere and a big multipier = big wins.

WRONG! It's the opposite!

I would concur with that sentiment. BS wrapped in an enigma tied up in a mystery....

Ok, I found the catch. A chunk of the "super bet" TRTP is reserved for the full screen of wilds, which is impossible to get unless you max the super bet. Since Wilds are the only stacked symbol, you have to accept the lower variance @ "big" stake in order to have a shot at the 750x.

Did I say that I hate this concept yet? I really do.
