    Perhaps my life is not that mundane. Dinner today was Pizza, and I have cold boring Canadian beer. I sat next to a young Canadian gal on the trip home, she was getting pizza straight away too.

    I'm lousy on a phone or tablet to post, and the few I did here took great effort in the past month. I'm behind in reading threads.

    I am a very reluctant gardener, but chives (Allium schoenoprasum) ask very little of you. A clump will come up year after year, and get bigger and bigger, and allow you to share with friends and neighbours.

    They are the first thing I can eat out of my garden, and if you don't have a garden they do well on a windowsill. A little fresh snipped chives is a welcome addition to many foods.

  4. Shoulda Been Quiche

    Did you ever start to make dinner, have almost everything and discover you are missing some key ingredient?

    Fridge yielded some not very fresh spinach, still suitable to cook. Onions, check, peppers from the garden check. Just bought cream, so I'm not going to run out.

    Various cheeses available.

    Too lazy (plus I don't need the calories) to make a pie crust, butter a large pie pan and tap in dry bread crumbs. I make crumbs from good leftover bread, ...

    Clamato is brand of tomato/clam juice by Motts wildly popular in Canada, with Caesars pushing Bloody Mary's out of the running here years ago.
