Knowing Gala (gag!) have had their casino thrown in the rogue pit recently it was quite annoying when this landed in my Inbox, Especially from an operation the size of theirs!!

Now I thought only the really dirtiest of douche bag casinos/bingo operators pulled these sort of stunts, in fact last time I got this type of e-mail it was from the infamous Joyland Casino.

Just thought I'd share in case there maybe other inactive players out there who may had a few quid lying in their accounts.

What will happen is that you lose those 3 cents and nothing else. Almost all casinos have that rule on an inactive account.
Nothing special for Gala :)

Hi Jon,

I understand that this is quite common across the industry and was not meant to cause offence to any players.

The message will only apply to funds currently held in the account (So certainly no additional unauthorised dipping into anyone's bank accounts!) and on the flip side - if anyone does have a worthwhile balance they have forgotten about it may be a nice reminder to log back in and play it through or withdraw.

I can't speak directly for our Bingo team however would like to point out Gala Casino is no longer rogued and I am still trying to get an announcement to confirm, and also to move us out of the 'reservation list' back into accredited.

If you have any outstanding issues please give me a message and I can look into for you.

Best Regards
Adam

what ever happens to closing accounts if not loged in for so many months across lots of sites? The majour reason for this sort of email is so you log in to prevent the account from closing, In other words for most sites to keep you as a player and influx your inbox :)

But I stand by this group, I think there great, For a big brand they are still trying, Such as coming to forums etc,

Agreed Spintee

I did apologise for over reacting at the time.

Think sometimes, especially on forums I can occasionally get 'Swept away with the tide' and share the opinions of others without stopping to think for myself, a small downfall for an otherwise great bloke :p

To be totally fair I have only made one deposit @ Gala and should give them more of a chance, just that my first deposit was very unlucky which kind of put me off a bit.

Think I may have a 50% match on my casino account so may have a blast later this week as they have Raging Rhino and Netent now so plenty of my faves :)

I always get a bit concerned when I see the title of this thread pop up in the inbox but good to see a compliment :) Thanks spintree!

I bet its not nice, I had a message the other day saying LAST WARNING, So I thought here we go, It was nothing to worrry about it was the boss putting the frighteners on us about the last warning about the meet, Unfortunately I couldn't meet up but will make sure next year is on the books :).

I always have an odd deposit every once in a while at your sites and always got my cash the next day in my bank, Not alot but nether the less its always there, & also for many of years of playing I have not come across errors that alot of sites have? I know your a big company but it does go along way when people know that they care and have reps as such

I thank you for that

This needs to be made absolutely clear in the email. The reason we keep seeing this come up as an issue is that the wording suggests that the player will be charged the full amount (£5 in this case) and either pursued by debt collectors, or have any registered payment method used to deduct the charge.

Although it's usually the case that a few pennies left lying around end up getting removed, there have been isolated cases where (usually rogue) casinos have gone so far as to threaten to send debt collectors around to recover money from a player who has insufficient in their account to cover some demand.

It might help also if more warning was given, rather than a player receiving no contact for many months, and then suddenly being told that such an action is "imminent".

Pennies are often left behind in accounts because they can neither be withdrawn nor played to zero, and the player has decided to stop playing, but not close the account (as this can lead to a false positive "problem gambler" alert that can be a devil of a job to sort out).

I have come across this rule many moons back, Some sites do state nothing will be debited from any usable deposit methods,

Buy yes if some one is not clued up than they would auto think they would be debited from such methods, Like I pointed out it is a way to get somebody to log into sites again

I can agree with that - we will be taking it on board if we have another send of reminders.

Dormancy fees have to be applied now that player balances have to be ring fenced. If the average dormant player has £1 in their balance and a big operator has 1million dormant accounts, that £1million sat in a ring fenced account for no reason.

I know Alderney make operators donate these player balances to charity after 2 years. Not sure what the GRA do though.
