Casinomeister's Verdict

Aztec Riches is one of the few online casinos to still run on Microgaming’s Viper client – and this means the games are accessible through a downloadable software client. There is no instant play gaming and, subsequently, no mobile casino.

The Casino Rewards Group powers Aztec Riches Casino, a pretty solid brand. They’ve been operating since 2002, so they’re one of the longest-running online casinos in the world! Learn all about them here in our Aztec Riches Casino review.

First Impression

Aztec Riches has been around since 2002 – making them one of the world’s oldest online casinos. Whether you want to learn more about the online casino, discover what Aztec Riches Casino bonuses you can claim, or find out which online casino games the site offers, this review has it all.

The game selection is extensive, with over 500 titles from Microgaming and its partners. Players have a vast selection of games, from progressive slots like Mega Moolah to table games like Roulette, Blackjack, and Poker. The casino also offers hundreds of slot machines, with themes and bonus features to suit all. The selection of card and table games is extensive, including all the usual classics like Baccarat, Blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker, Vegas Craps, and Roulette.

In addition to Microgaming, this Casino Rewards brand also offers games from Microgaming’s partner studios which include Rabcat, Triple Edge Studios, Northern Lights Gaming, Stormcraft Studios, Switch Studios, Electric Elephant Games, All41 Studios, Pulse 8 Studios, Gameburger Studios, Neon Valley Studios, SpinPlay Games, Real Dealer Studios, GONG Gaming, Buck Stakes Entertainment, and Games Global.

On the live casino front, Evolution powers all live games at the casino. This means you can enjoy the best live dealer games in the world, including several variations of Roulette and Blackjack and unique gameshow games like Crazy Time and Monopoly Live.

To our surprise, Aztec Riches Casino doesn’t currently offer an instant play version of their website; to play at their casino, you need to download a software client available for most Windows and Mac devices. More on that later; firstly, let’s look at the deposit bonuses and VIP scheme available to players!

Pros

  • Licensed by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission

  • Audited by eCORGA

  • Wide variety of casino games and video slots

  • Customer support is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week

  • Powered by Microgaming

Cons

  • No UK players

  • Pretty slow payouts

  • No instant play software

  • The deposit bonus has insane wagering requirements

BONUSES AND PROMOTIONS

One of the most important things with any online casino is the bonuses and promotions on offer – and that is what the next few sections of our review will be looking at.

Welcome Offer

If you deposit $100, you receive a $50 bonus, giving you $150 to play with. To be eligible for this bonus, deposit a minimum of $10. The wagering requirement is 200 times the bonus, and different games contribute differently.

Slots contribute 100%, games like Blackjack, Baccarat, Craps and Dice contribute 10%, and Roulette and Video Poker contribute just 2%.

You can get a 25% bonus up to $200 on your second deposit. This means that if you deposit $800, you will receive a bonus of $200, giving you a total of $1000 to play with. Like the first deposit bonus, the minimum deposit required is $10, and the wagering requirement is 200 times the bonus. 200X wagering requirements are – to put it simply – astoundingly bad, and we see zero reasons why any player would ever want to claim this deposit bonus.

What’s more, all three deposit bonuses come with a maximum bet limit of 24% of the initial bonus value, which means that if your bonus is $50, your maximum bet while playing with bonus funds will be $12.

No-Deposit & Free Spins Offers

We tried to find information about no deposit bonuses available at Aztec Riches Casino at the time of writing. If this changes, we will update this review accordingly.

VIP and Loyalty Programs

Aztec Riches online casino is part of the Casino Rewards Group – and this means that your progress is linked to all of the other online casinos linked to the loyalty program. Each time you place a real-money wager, you will earn points which can later be redeemed for bonuses and prizes.

Every 100 points earned equates to a dollar in cash, so it’s simple, and you can track your cash progress at any time. In essence, the more you play, the more rewards you earn. You have complete control over your comp points and can cash them out any time you like – provided you meet the minimum threshold.

As all casinos within the Casino Rewards group are part of this loyalty program, points earned from play at any of these casinos accumulate together in your account, maximising the rewards you can earn.

Banking & Payment Methods

Aztec Riches Casino provides a host of options for both deposit and withdrawal methods. The methods include ClickandBuy, Kalibra Card, Maestro, MasterCard, Neteller, PaysafeCard, Postepay, Visa, Entropay, EZIPay, eChecks, and Skrill, among others.

This wide array of options gives players the flexibility to choose the method that suits them best. They also accept multiple currencies, including Canadian dollars, Euros, British pounds sterling, and US dollars.

All deposits are credited to your online casino account immediately, and Aztec Riches Casino does not charge any fees for players making deposits.

Withdrawal Speed

One of the main complaints we have with Aztec Riches online casino is that withdrawals are subject to a pending period of 48 hours; in today’s day and age, this seems far too long. While we fully understand that casinos have to run anti-fraud checks, 48 hours is relatively slow – especially when you compare the casino to other sites around today, which can process withdrawals on a near-instant basis.

The casino has a maximum withdrawal limit of €4,000 per week. However, this limit may vary depending on the withdrawal method chosen. VIP players, for example, may be able to request a higher limit, so don’t let this deter you too much.

Responsible gaming

Aztec Riches casino takes responsible gambling pretty seriously. From their main responsible gambling page, you can find some external links to charities and organisations that can help you if you feel your online gambling is getting out of control.

They provide a range of tools to help players maintain control over their gambling activities, promoting both fun and responsible gaming.

One such tool Aztec Riches Casino offers is its deposit limit system, allowing players to set daily, weekly, and monthly limits on their deposits. This lets you set a hard limit on how much you can spend – and once you reach that limit, you will not be able to deposit any more money until the period you set passes. If you want to increase or remove these limits, you must wait 24 hours. However, lowering your limits can be done at any time and is instant.

In addition to their deposit limit function, Aztec Riches Casino lets players “Take a Break”, also known as entering into a time-out. This allows players to take a short break from gambling, closing their accounts for one day and six weeks.

If you feel gambling is becoming a severe problem, Aztec Riches Casino also offers a self-exclusion function. Self-exclusion allows you to block your account on a longer-term basis; a minimum of six months is required, and you can close it permanently if you like. It’s only possible to undo once you enter into a self-exclusion agreement once the pre-set time has passed.

Self-exclusion at Aztec Riches Casino will also automatically close any other online casino accounts with Casino Rewards Group brands, so make sure you think things through before excluding yourself.

Customer support

Customer support at Aztec Riches Casino is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and this means that it doesn’t matter what time of day or night you want to contact the customer support team – you will be able to do so.

Aztec Riches casino allows you to contact the customer support team in several ways, although using the live chat system is the easiest way. This connects you directly with the casino representative and lets you talk about your problem or query from the downloadable software window in real time.

If you prefer, you can also contact the customer support team via email or phone – although please be aware that email response times can take up to 48 hours, although they aim to respond to all emails within 24 hours.

KYC

Regarding KYC checks, Aztec Riches Casino is like all other regulated online casinos in today’s igaming world; they are required, as per their online gambling license, to verify the identity, age, and address of all players.

As such, they require you to provide verification documents, such as a photo of your Passport or Driving license and proof of address (issued within the past three months), before withdrawals can be made. The online casino may also ask for additional information about your source of funds or payment method to comply with anti-fraud and anti-money laundering regulations.

Sometimes, they may request images of the debit cards used for transactions, un-redacted card and bank statements, and proof of regular income or savings origins. While these measures are a pain, we should point out that the casino has no choice but to carry them out.

Website Experience and Features

Desktop and Mobile Gaming

Aztec Riches Casino offers players the choice between playing on the downloadable version of their casino or the Flash version. While both versions provide an excellent gaming experience, the downloadable version has a slightly more comprehensive range of games. As such, if possible, the download version is recommended.

Downloading the software is a simple process that only takes a few minutes. Once installed, you can play for fun, which is an excellent way to familiarise yourself with the games or play with real money. If you want to do the latter, you must create an account. Setting up an account takes just a couple of minutes.

The software client features a relatively simplistic and easy-to-use user interface, and all of the website’s different sections are pretty accessible – making it relatively straightforward to access the different game areas. Indeed, it is simply a case of clicking a button to access a different game lobby – and while this may seem a little out of date to some players, those who used to gamble online many years ago will feel at home.

However, there is no denying that it’s incredibly dated – and some would say old-looking. You probably won’t have any complaints if you want to play classic Microgaming games like their Break Da Bank slot or the Opened Riviera Riches slot. However, if you’re looking for a modern, state-of-the-art experience – Casino Rewards Group casino may not be your best bet.

The games load relatively quickly, and the software client runs pretty well despite not looking particularly modern. However, unfortunately, you cannot play at Aztec Riches Casino from your mobile devices, given that the casino doesn’t currently offer downloadable mobile apps for you to take advantage of.

We imagine that an instant play version of the website will become available shortly as failing to do so really risks leaving them behind with the times.

The website itself is available in English and Danish – so we were a little surprised to see some of the world’s other major spoken languages unavailable – but again, for the most part, the majority of players should not have any issues with this.

Providers

A multitude of high-profile software providers backs Aztec Riches Casino. However, they are all Microgaming companies, so don’t expect to see game developers like Netent, BTG or Nolimit City here.

The only exception to this is Evolution (formerly known as Evolution Gaming), which powers the live dealer casino at Aztec Riches Casino. Small game studios working with Microgaming offer their games at the online casino, however, including Rabcat, Triple Edge Studios, and Northern Lights Gaming, among others.

These providers collectively offer hundreds of games, each with distinctive features and gaming mechanisms, ensuring players a rich and varied gaming experience. In the following sections of this review, we will look at some of the most popular types of games you will find available to enjoy at Aztec Riches Casino – starting with a look at the online slots.

Slots

It should be no surprise to learn that video slots are the most popular casino game at almost all casinos. Aztec Riches Casino boasts a massive selection of Microgaming’s video slots. You’ll find more than 400 different titles in total to choose from.

One of the most iconic video slots to come out of Microgaming’s development labs is Immortal Romance – and this vampire-themed slot has been regarded by many players worldwide as Microgaming’s most successful release in history.

Arguably the most significant appeal to playing Immortal Romance is the fact that it is possible to win 11,000 times your total stake – and there are several different ways in which this whopping jackpot can be won. For example, during the base game, a random feature called the Wild Desire bonus can trigger randomly at any time, and when it does, anywhere from one to 5 reels will be transformed into wild reels.

Naturally, this means there is a massive win potential on offer, and if you are lucky enough to get all five of the reels completely wild, you are in for a guaranteed monster win.

The leading free spins bonus round in Immortal Romance is triggered by landing three or more of the scatter symbols anywhere in view, and once triggered, you will be taken to a free spins lobby where you can choose one of four free spins bonuses.

The most popular is the Amber free spins round which awards you with ten free spins; however, during the free spins feature, all wins are multiplied by 5X – the wild symbols multiply wins by 2X, too, so if you can form a win with a wild symbol during the free spins round it’s multiplied by 10 X in total.

Immortal Romance is just one of the many video slots available to enjoy at Aztec Riches Casino; there are many more popular choices, including progressive jackpot games and old-school retro slots.

Live Online Casinos

Until a few years ago, Microgaming used to develop their live casino games; however, due to a drop in popularity and Microgaming choosing to penetrate different markets, the global game developer started to discontinue the live casino, and now they have retired it all together.

Thankfully, Aztec Riches Casino has decided to partner up with Evolution – the world’s largest and most reputable provider of live casino games by a long shot – and this means that when you play at Aztec Riches Casino, you will be able to enjoy more than 60 different live dealer games in total – including everything from casino classics like Blackjack and Roulette to more obscure live games like Crazy Time and Monopoly Live.

One of the things we were delighted to see at Aztec Riches Casino when writing this review was the fact that the minimum bet amounts for many of the live dealer games are low; this means that you can play in the live casino without having to stake more money than you are comfortable doing, thus meaning you don’t have to miss out on the action.

The live dealer casino at Aztec Riches Casino can be accessed by clicking the live casino tab. This is located on the main navigation menu, and you will then be taken to the game lobby, where you can browse all of the live dealer games available.

Table Games

Aztec Riches Casino does a great job in offering a wide variety of casino table games and video poker; like most of the group Casino Rewards Group casinos, the Aztec Riches casino games are designed to appeal to all players. This means you will find not just tons of slot machines but several variations of Blackjack and Roulette, each with slight variations in rules and gameplay to keep things exciting.

When it comes to Roulette games specifically, Aztec Riches Casino provides a pretty decent selection of games, and you’ll find all of Microgaming’s classics, such as European Roulette Gold, French Roulette, and American Roulette Gold. All the Roulette titles at Aztec Riches Casino are under the table games tab.

At Aztec Riches Casino, you will find many different Blackjack games, including European Blackjack Gold, Vegas Strip Blackjack Gold, Single Deck Blackjack Gold, and Atlantic City Blackjack Gold.

While writing this review, we were happy to find that Aztec Riches Casino offers a vast selection of video poker games. You can play titles including Jacks or Better, Bonus Deuces Wild, Aces and Faces, Aces and Eights Poker, and Double Bonus Poker – all situated under a dedicated video poker tab.

In non-video poker games, the online casino has a decent selection, with titles like Cyberstud Poker and Poker Pursuit offering players the chance to enjoy something different; games with some strategic-looking elements and decent win potential. Games like Keno, Spingo, and Ballistic Bingo are worth checking out for players wanting instant wins.

Progressive jackpots

Another exciting category that makes up part of Aztec Riches Casino’s portfolio is its progressive jackpot games. With several million-dollar jackpots, the Aztec Riches website allows you to enter the online casino world of millionaires if you’re lucky enough to hit it big on a progressive!

Major Millions, a five-reel, fifteen-pay line slot machine, is one such game. With just a few spins, it’s possible to win life-changing amounts of money – cash that will be sent via a direct bank transfer straight to your account! When you play at any Rewards Casino Group site, you can enjoy Microgaming’s entire portfolio of progressive jackpot games.

Aztec Riches offers them all – although, undoubtedly, the most popular is Mega Moolah. Mega Moolah holds the current world record for the biggest progressive jackpot win in history – some $23 million – and astonishingly, a lucky player to scoop this jackpot was playing at the minimum bet, which is likely to have been just $0.25!

About the Team and History

Aztec Riches Casino is one of the oldest online casinos in the world, first opening its doors in 2002. It is part of the prestigious Casino Rewards Group, and Technology Services Training Ltd is a company that owns and operates the website today.

The Kahnawake Gaming Commission regulates Aztec Riches casino, and all games are audited and checked by external regulators. Unfortunately, the online casino doesn’t have a UKGC license, so UK players aren’t able to join.

Complaints and Track Record

Aztec Riches is mentioned quite a lot in the forums – with some posts going back as far as 2006 – and here’s a selection of the most popular posts from players. First, let’s look at what KmartinUSA had to say:

“I think it’s important to point out when folks do the right thing, and I have an experience I’d like to share. This story is a little complicated, and I’ll do my best to simplify it. I do want to give credit where it is due.

<disclaimer…I honestly don’t know if others have issues with these folks and haven’t taken the time to look…this is just my experience over the weekend!>

I took Aztec Riches up on a slots-only bonus (for an existing account) and played all weekend. I loosely kept track of my wagering and cashed out (with no profit) after I thought I had more than met the requirements. On Monday, I found the $100 cash out returned to my casino account. I asked customer service why this had happened, and she indicated that I had not met the WR attached to the bonus… I was a little surprised, but I figured I didn’t read the T&Cs or something…In any case, I played a little more and promptly lost what was left.

While cooking dinner that evening, I thought about this and realised that CS had just made a mistake and that I had met the WR. To make a long story longer, I emailed them with the problem, ensuring they understood that I would have cashed out $100 except for their error in calculating the WR. I fully expected the runaround, which begins with unanswered emails and ends with the player pissed off and an account closed.

Much to my delight, they apologised for their error and refunded the $100 to my account!

I was and am stunned that they did this. I read about 32 Red and others who set the standard regarding customer service. Still, I am trying to remember reading much about Aztec Riches (whatever group they belong to) as being exceedingly customer oriented.

I wanted to take the time to post here because this is a case of the casino doing the right thing. They could have easily denied my request for any number of reasons. Had I won the remaining $100, would I have complained?… Probably not.

In any case, I appreciate all of you who take the time to read this. These people did what was right when blowing me off would have been easy. They have earned my respect.”

However, not all players had such a good experience – as detailed by Slotduc52:

“Is anyone else having any problem with cash-ins at Aztec? I cashed – in on Tuesday, March 14th, for $1000 and had the withdrawal flushed. On Wednesday, I was told that the cash-in had been processed and sent to Firepay and would appear in Fire Pay “within” 48 hours. Well, 48 hours went by and still no funds in Firepay.

I requested Firepay transaction numbers, and Aztec has refused to give them to me. All they provided me was a “back-end” report they had to provide on cash check (after they had cleared out my complete playing history, and I questioned it). Now, the playing history, along with my cash check statement, has mysteriously reappeared. I contacted their bank processor and was told, “Take it up with management”.

Take it up with management. That was funny; the bank processor IS the same customer support as Aztec. Besides, how can I take it up with management when no one at Aztec replies to my emails anymore? The only reply I am getting is the automatic “acknowledgement” email.

I went to live chat, and they closed the session when they saw who it was and what my question was. I am a Platinum Player at Aztec, but this is the 2nd cash-in I have been given the runaround about. The last time this happened, I said I would contact Casinomeister, and within 3 hours, my funds showed up in my Firepay account. I said I would go to the Kahnawake Gaming Commission this time, and they said, “Go ahead.”

So, how do I get my cash-in from them?? I have never had any problem with a cash-in at any casino before. I won’t play at Casino Rewards Casinos again. Too many other casinos have superb customer support and fast payouts and treat their players with respect. Aztec customer support needs a training class on how to treat their players.”

As you can see, it’s a bit of a mixed bag regarding reviews. If you want to play at trusted and secure casinos, choose one of Casinomeister’s Accredited casinos. All accredited casinos undergo rigorous testing to ensure they’re fit for purpose. We also have personal relationships with most Accredited casinos, allowing us to step in if our players encounter any issues.
