The egamingcommission.org (AKA The Electronic Gaming Commission) is a fake watchdog organization set up to deceive players into thinking that it has any legitimacy. It has none. It's deceptive, and has been marketed to a number of casinos as being a "stamp of approval." Shill portal sites are fine and dandy, but this one takes things a bit too far. It is deceit at the most excruciating level. Get this:
Mission Statement To protect online gamblers by providing accurate information about the honesty and integrity of gaming web sites and by mediating between concerned players and gambling companies in case of disputes. They go on to state: We are a consumer protection group made up of players like you, monitoring the state of the on-line gaming industry to help players make educated and fulfilling gaming decisions. Oh really, it's funny how their website has remained virtually unchanged since October 2000. (Use the Way Back Machine and you'll see what I mean). Not a lot of monitoring going on here. The servers are the same ones used by Windows Casino and several porno sites. Perhaps they should be monitoring themselves? And it's a shame that they have successfully marketed themselves as an organization that is beneficial to the online gaming community, because they are not. They are deceiving everyone, including themselves. | ||
