As tradition stands, I stayed in the same hotel as Spearmaster and we nearly had our fill of Sushi and Indian food. It was never enough. But I went there for the ICE. The International Casino Exhibition was small, but it was the people who mattered. The charming and spunky Julie Sidwell (Gambling Grumbles) and I had a wonderful gossipy (and professional) discussion of everything from the Golden Palace fiascoes to "Friends". I also had a nice talk with Vahe Baloulian from Casino-on-net, who has been instrumental in clearing up the very few grievances that I've received about his casino. It also turns out that he lives in the same town that I was born in. Small world isn't it? I met with the guys from Microgaming, the gals from Intercasino, and many others as well. And of course Mike Craig and I had a nice quiet meeting in a quaint pub discussing the possible resurrection of the Online Players Association. Many of you will not be disappointed. London is a cool town, and I thought that Mike, being a Brit (hopefully my British readers don't find my usage of the word "Brit" offensive, just an old wartime habit. You can call me "Yank" if you want.) would know the town well enough not to get lost on the way back to the hotel. Alas, after 45 minutes driving in circles (on the wrong side of the road!) he dumped me off in Soho. I was accosted by prostitutes as I speed walked to my hotel; a elderly woman with a can of beer in her hand stumbled towards me and asked if I "wanted some joy"(?). Mike told me later that this was her name. I guess Mike knows her. Nevertheless, it was a great trip. Saw a few movies (Lord of the Rings, wow!) and a play (Les Miserables) and bought a few CDs and such. Great fun. But I'm back and cracking away. Have you ever wondered what happened to Steve Adkins?
