LARGE ENTRY FIELD FOR FTOPS 6 MAIN EVENT
23 November 2007
4 371 player sign up, hungry for main event top
prize
The sixth edition of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series
charged on over the weekend, with the centre of
attraction the Main Event, for which the online poker
site had guaranteed a $2 million prize pool.
However, the guarantee was overtaken by the large entry
field of 4 371 players, each of whom was worth $535 in
terms of the buy-in and admin fee. The prize pool just
topped $2 185 000, providing a main event winner's prize
of $385 937 and change, together with a generous money
bubble.
By the time the field had been reduced to a final table
of nine, player 'fkscreennames' was well in the lead on
chips after some aggressive and very confident play
through the field. Other than two or three bad turns
which were costly for him, the player continued to
dominate the game as the other final tablers were
eliminated, leaving 'fkscreennames' and two other
players - ' mendieta19' and 'southside1' both od whom he
despatched in short order as the game entered its final
stages.
In a matter of a few hands, 'mendieta19' was bundled out
in third place with a payday of $ $152 985, and heads up
opponent 'southside1' was taken out in second for a pay
check of $233 630, leaving the victorious 'fkscreennames'
to pocket the winner's prize of $$385 937.45.
Even the first man out, ' HipHopNDontStop' in ninth
place, did OK in the pay stakes with a check of $29
285.70 for his online efforts.
