Reputable vs. Evil

I made a post on Sept 28 and have not gotten a reply yet. Can you please respond? Here is a copy of that request:

I really appreciate all the work you do to help us gamers stay away from the Evil casinos. I hope you can take the time to help me out with several questions. Here they are:

1. You have Golden Comps and Magic Oasis on your Evil list. These both happen to use the same software, RTG. Does this mean that other RTG casino users are to be avoided?

2. I've tried Hampton and Portofino in the FUN mode. They are sister sites and use RTG. I actually like the RTG software. Are you familiar with them?

3. Do the Evil ones ever get off the list and if so, do you notify us?

4. With thousands (I think) of casinos online, you mention only a few as Reputable and a few more as Evil. What about all those not mentioned? Are they a "gamble at your own risk" type or a "these are O.K., but not the best" type?

5. Lastly, you do a great job, but are there other web sites that have done research similiar to yours who have a "Recommended" list of casinos?

Thank you once again. Keep up the good work.

Clay

Hi Clay,

Sorry about that. You caught me during a transition period; coming from stateside back to Europe. I've deleted your other post for neatness, so that the answers will remain in this thread. Good questions.

1. You have Golden Comps and Magic Oasis on your Evil list. These both happen to use the same software, RTG. Does this mean that other RTG casino users are to be avoided?
No, but there is one thing you should keep in mind, and this is it: if there are a number of casinos who use the same software provider which are being roged on a regular basis, then there is obviously an accountability problem between the software provider and the casino. RTG casinos have a history of mismanaging their casinos, or deceiving their players via deceptive spam mails, bogus awards, BS statements on their websites, etc. The software provider has a hands off approach when it comes to this. They will normally get involved when it comes to getting players paid (as with the Angelciti Group, and recently, the Vegas Strip Casinos).

2. I've tried Hampton and Portofino in the FUN mode. They are sister sites and use RTG. I actually like the RTG software. Are you familiar with them?

When it comes to to playing at RTG sites, you are playing at your own risk. There is no safety net. No licensing entity, no player safeguard.

Hampton and Portofino casinos seem to be doing alright. I don't see player complaints coming from them too often. And when they do, they are taken care of in a swift manner.

3. Do the Evil ones ever get off the list and if so, do you notify us?
Yes, they do. There is a redemption section (Angelciti and Bethedealer are two that are listed here). And I notify players via the newsletter or forum or both when they are removed. It's only fair.
Some others have faded away since they are off line. What I need to do is archive some of these "rogues" since a few have been overshadowed by the length of time it has been since their initial roguedom. They have either gone through management changes (or even software) and I need to revisit the situation. But this is a time permitting sort of thing. Lately, I've just been too busy.

4. With thousands (I think) of casinos online, you mention only a few as Reputable and a few more as Evil. What about all those not mentioned? Are they a "gamble at your own risk" type or a "these are O.K., but not the best" type?
Good question. Yes there are "thousands" of casinos out there. Hundreds of rogues, hundreds of good guys. It's the wild, wild, west, since I would never be able to cover them all. Players need to cover their asses by doing some simple research https://www.casinomeister.com/casino-reviews/ (needs to be updated, but it's applicable) The rogue section covers hundreds of casinos, you need to use the search section to find specific casinos.
Old URL There are many casinos written up in the News and Newsletter section that sometimes never make it to "roguedom"; this ought to be searched as well.
As for reputable, there are a number of good casinos that are not listed there mainly because I haven't met with them face to face. This is something I require before they are listed here at Casinomeister. This is something that most portals do not do. Again, time is my worst enemy on this because I have met with some casino operators and I'd like to place them there, but I haven't had the time yet.

5. Lastly, you do a great job, but are there other web sites that have done research similiar to yours who have a "Recommended" list of casinos?
Thanks! There aren't too many websites that have done the research that I've done, many because I've been online longer than most everyone else. I also don't keep track of what many other portal masters are doing, but I know

was putting together a "rogue" list. Also, the well established portals that are outspoken on good/versus bad casinos are a good place to check out as well.

falls into this category, as well as

. They do not have a list of rogues, but their advertisers are pretty solid.
