Big Blow To On Line Casinos = Florida Gaming

Extra, Extra. Read all about it ;and if you are a third world operated casino you are about to get a good ol' fashion USA laxative. Broward County, Florida. Duh, you know the one between Palm Beach and Miami has just approved gambling for slots, video poker and keno. The state is now putting in place a regulatory commission (ala vegas style) to actually regulate payouts, promises etc. Eat your heart out Bellrocke, etc. and every other lame a-- casino that preys on no regulation ond no standards for payouts, bonus offeres, etc. By the way, even the Indian casinos here are getting into the act. Hard Rock casino group has signed rights to all casinos in Florida (they are run by the Seminole Indians and are exempt from government regulation and are considered a soverign nation by the Bureau of Indian Affiairs, a department of the Federal govenment.) Miami -Dade county voted down gambling a week ago, while Broward County passed it.. Needless to say, it will reconisder the issue in two years (the next election) and believe you me, it will pass. This is the beginning of the end for online casinos, unless there is a world governing body to regulate them. I say this for a simple reason: it is convenient to gamble on line. I know, since I do so often to this point. However, if you know what you are getting into and the fact it is govt regulated, more people would rather drive ten minutes, then put money into a place with zero guarantees regarding bonuses, payout etc and may be located in a banana republic with no laws or ill obsereved laws to say the least( Can you say Panama, lmao). Long live Free Enterprise!!!

I was very happy to hear that this has passed. Since I am about a 10 minute drive to Broward, I do not have to be stuck with on line casinos.
Atleast at casinos when your comped ( Bonus) You get it right away. on line casinos you have to wait 24 - 48 hours and sometimes even 72 hours.
Thats not how I like to be comped.

Even the comps at on line casinos suck. And at Normal casinos they are regulated so I do not have to see if I "qualified" for a bonus, or if I read the " fine print" etc. Nor do I have to wait for a cash in, or worry that the " rules" say I can't cash in only if a certain amount was spent on specific games.

since on line casinos are not regulated they can do whatever they want.

I am for the normal casinos anyday then on line casinos. Atleast I know that at normal casinos , I can pocket my winning and never have to worry about reading the fine print and changing of rules etc etc.

Don't forget that a whole bunch of Casinos etc are in Canada, but they are located in those sovereign Canadian-Indian places.

This hasn't magically cleaned the industry up...they are exempt from Canadian Government regulation.

Hard Rock casino group has signed rights to all casinos in Florida (they are run by the Seminole Indians and are exempt from government regulation and are considered a soverign nation by the Bureau of Indian Affiairs

i.e. another "exempt from Government Regulation" gambling haven is about to spring up.

So there's unlikely to be any real change from the present situation.
We will have Canadian Indian, plus soon to arrive US Indian places.

Meanwhile, Broward Countys' semi-decision is 2 years away...

...it's enough to make you take up sportsbetting....

It's not 2 years away. They already approved it in Broward county.Your confused and did not read his post you must have just glanced at it. Miami Dade county will vote on it in 2 years.Broward is all set to go for casinos!

Lasseters and Aus Vegas ARE indeed Government regulated though. We have indian casinos within 15 mins of my home on indian ground in New York but I still will play online.

If you feel like being a shut in thats your choice!

Hard Rock Cafe casinos sound more appealing to me then on line casinos who are not regulated and the few that are are regulated in there own country and players in the United States do not have any regulation boards on any of the on line casinos.

Can't wait to start hitting the Florida Land Casinos!

FINANCING FINALIZED FOR HARD ROCK HOTEL AND CASINO PROJECTS TO BE DEVELOPED ON SEMINOLE INDIAN RESERVATIONS IN TAMPA AND HOLLYWOOD, FLORIDA

ORLANDO, FL Hard Rock Cafe International announced today the financing for two new Hard Rock Hotel and Casino resorts to be developed on the Seminole Indian Nation reservation land in Tampa and Hollywood, Florida, has been finalized. The financing was completed via the issuance of $315 million of Capital Trust Agency Revenue bonds. Hard Rock Cafes parent company, The Rank Group Plc, has subscribed for $25 million of the bonds.

The new Hard Rock Hotel and Casino resorts, which replace the Seminoles existing gaming facilities located in Tampa and Hollywood, are being developed through a licensing agreement between Hard Rock Cafe International, the Seminole Indian Tribe of Florida and The Cordish Company. Construction will commence immediately and both resorts are expected to open in 2004.

The new Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tampa resort will be located on the site of the existing Seminole gaming facility off Exit 5 on Interstate 4 and will feature 90,000 square feet of gaming space with 1,500 electronic pull-tab machines and 50 gaming tables, a 250-room hotel and 10 restaurants.

The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood resort will be located adjacent to the Seminoles existing gaming facility at U.S. 441 and Stirling Road. The new resort features 115,000 square feet of gaming space with 2,000 electronic pull-tab machines and 65 gaming tables, a 750-room hotel and 12 restaurants, including a Hard Rock Cafe.

The Tampa and Hollywood Hard Rocks are already up and running. The Hollywood one opened just last year. Because of arcane Florida laws, all casinos in Florida still do not offer Blackjack and other style Vegas games. Also, while they do have poker, the betting limits in each round are structured for only very small amounts (e.g. $2 increments, capped at $8).

Bellerock is licensed in Gibraltar, along with these others:

I wouldn't consider most of these lame ass and preying on no regulation, in fact it's quite the opposite.

If you play slots, you have a better chance of winning online (if playing at a reputable site) than at an Indian casino. As Slotchik said, they are not regulated and I know from experience that Harrahs Cherokee's machines are tight as a tick (I would say 80 percent range) and they wont say what their payouts are.

Its nice that you guys are going to have live casinos but if i had to choose between an Indian casino and say 32Red, I would be a "shut in" like Slotchik too.

Yup!! Where else can you play in your pajamas and then shop online right after winning?? LOL

Besides, jackpotfactory ( all slots, all jackpots, etc ) treats me better then some land casinos I play at....

I just got a package of goodies from them yesterday ( 2 coffee mugs with coffee, a stainless steel logo thermos, carrying bag, box of tea and cookies )
to celebrate the launch of all jackpots..

Sorry, but I'll take staying home anyday....
besides it's f***ing cold outside!!! LOL
and if it was warm like it is in Florida, I'd want to do something OUTSIDE, not sit in a casino ~~

What the hell is a PULL TAB MACHINE?????

From the Wizard of Odds (Old / Expired Link
Pull Tab. A pull tab is gambling device in which the player makes a wager and gets a piece of paper, called a "pull tab" showing how much he got back. This piece of paper the player may take to the cashier for redemption. So a pull tab is like a gum ball machine. As a visual aid the game may show how much the player won in the form of a slot machine of video poker game. However don't be fooled, there is never any skill in a pull tab game. Even if the game looks like a five card draw video poker game your outcome is predestined. For example if you get a royal flush on the deal and throw all of it away you would get another royal flush on the draw. If you kept only one card to a royal you would get four wild cards on the draw. Pull tabs are most likely to be found in Indian casinos that do not allow normal slots or video poker games.

So they don't have REAL slot machines at these Florida casinos!!! LOL It's like an arcade then...

What a joke....

yup yup..I'll stick to my online gambling!

Of course there are real slot machines in Florida. Slot Machines, Poker Machines etc. The only thing they do not have is Black Jack. They are voting to get that in.They are real and Grandmaster is making up stories that the Indian casinos do not have " Real Machines" Its a comment with nothing to back it up. Remember, every site on here that promotes casinos, including Wizardofoz , certainly does not do it for free. And Price waterhouse cooper , does not go in to the casino and see the records. what they post is what the casino gives them to post. It's great to hear that all of these casinos are governed etc, but they are not governed in the country I live in so what good does that do me, or anyone else that does not live in that country? not much!
And please slotchik, no private messages.Keep it on the board

Pull tabs are NOT real slot machines. They are arcade style machines and are nothing like the real ones...
Have you ever seen them???

He is incorrect about Indian casinos as they DO have real ones, ( maybe some dont ) but pull tabs are not slots and they are similar to ones found in an arcade. In fact here is a quote from a lawsuit regarding these machines...

The Johnson Act, 15 U.S.C. 1171 et seq., prohibits, among other things, the possession or use of "any gambling device" within Indian country. The Johnson Act defines a gambling device to include "any * * * machine or mechanical device" that is "designed and manufactured primarily for use in connection with gambling, and * * * by the operation of which a person may become entitled to receive, as the result of the application of an element of chance, any money or property." 15 U.S.C. 1171(a)(2).

The question presented in this case is whether the Lucky Tab II machine is excluded from that definition because a player becomes entitled to receive money as a result of the sequence of winning and losing pull-tabs on a pre-printed paper roll inserted into the machine.

and here is another:
Bingo and pull-tab machine options for tribal online casinos in California Tribal poker casino operators in California are looking for ways to expand their gambling operations by seeking out online casinos and other options. However, since most already operate the maximum slot and machines allowed under the tribal/state gaming compact of class III devices, namely 2000, they have begun to consider class II devices and starting online casinos. Slot and video poker machines fall into the class III category but electronic pull-tab dispensers and bingo machines are not part of the limitations. Machines such as the pull-tab have been designed in such a way as to imitate the look and feel of Las Vegas-type slot machines and are common in states like Oklahoma where tribes cannot operate class II games.

I am not sure what your saying? its not a real machine because you take the receipt of your winnings to the cashier and get paid your winnings? why would that make that not a real slot machine? what do you get when you play on line? you do not get handed cash in your hand when you win. you have to wait almost a week if not more for your winnings if you cash in on line. But your saying that Indian Casinos are not real because you get a piece of paper with the winning take it to the cashier and get your winnings paid to you right then and there. That makes you feel that its a fake machine, but you feel that winning on line and having to wait a week or so to get paid is real.

You seem very confused!

Girl,
it's NOT a real slot machine!! It is an arcade style machine...not at all like the ones you find in a real casino, and this is why there are so many law suits about it...because they are getting away with having these machines...because they dont fall under the slot machine category...
Machines made by IGT etc..are REAL slot machines:

see here URL Not Found / Outdated

A pull tab is NOT a slot machine!!!! Read this:

Video Pull-Tabs are an electronic version of the Paper Pull-Tabs that can also be purchased at Miccosukee Resort & Gaming. Playing the electronic game is easy. All you have to do is pick a tab and open it. This is done by choosing the game you would like to play by touching the screen over the name of the game. When you are in the game, you choose the amount you want to bet by touching the Change Box on the upper right portion of the screen. Now you are ready to play by touching the bottom of the screen where it says Touch Here to Play. The pictures on the screen will be covered by blue tabs that then can be opened just by touching them. When you win, yellow arrows will be displayed across the figures and the winnings will be automatically posted to your credits. You can keep playing or you can touch the Exit Game button and choose another game or Cash Out. When you touch Cash Out a ticket will be printed with your credits, which can be redeemed for cash.

And here is one of your Florida deals:
The Miccosukee Resort and Casino Miami is located just 25 miles South of the Miami International Airport and is Miami's only land based gaming, in a lavish Las Vegas style setting. Try your luck out at over 1,500 Video Pull Tab Machines, test your skill in daily tournament Poker action, settle in for one of the round the clock bingo sessions at the 1,200 seat hall, or jump into a rousing game of Lightning Lotto with a winner every 30 seconds.
Notice they are NOT slots machines..
You'll see when you get there......

so you run along and play your PULL TABS...and I'll play my 9-25 line video slots....thank you.

Hey Slotchik

This is the 2nd 'sarcastic' and snarky post you've made about this. (2 different threads)

If you don't like 'Pull Tabs', or the type of casino that offers them, then don't play there. No need to deride someone that does.

She chastised us for playing online. all is fair in love and war and she is very cool.....anyway.

She doesnt even know what a pull tab slot is ( at least I don't think LOL )....and all I'm showing her is that they are not real slot machines. I'm not out to be mean....
