Unknown Transaction Names

A bit of a general moan, i've dealt with the issue with the company directly but i've just had a bit of a nightmare with my bank after getting a security phone call about some dodgy looking transactions on my debit card.

I was called and given a list of merchants whom i didn't recognise, The bank blocked my card and sent me a new one and disputed all the transactions. It was then that i got blocked by an un-named online casino who was using a very different company name on it's transactions.

Now i remember the deposit page very well and it did not say the name the transactions would be done under on the depositing screen. I've since gone back to my bank to tell them that i did authorise the transaction but unfortunately the casino would have been fined by their merchant.

Why is it so hard for a casino to tell people what their transactions will appear as when you make a deposit like other sites do? Even when i buy a train ticket, it tells me the transaction will come up as a certain company name. Surely this practice is causing them undue chargebacks day after day.

Anyway, i've resolved the issue with the casino in question and am having to be more vigilant, as my bank will not display pending transactions on my online banking, i'm not able to just login and see how it's come up.

This is something I have mentioned many times, but casinos just won't listen. UK banks are getting really tight, even rather anal, about security, and can block over 50% of casino transactions as they regard all online gambling as "high risk". Knowing in advance the name casinos will use won't help because banks have no system whereby a customer can whitelist certain merchants to prevent false positives. The banks won't even tell customers how they might minimise the risk of having such transactions blocked because the process is automated, and is a "black box" system.

We even have casinos trying to push players away from Neteller, where transactions to casinos is "run of the mill", and almost never get blocked by Neteller "black box" fraud detection systems. They WANT players to use their cards, but this means enduring the problem of random and sometimes frequent declines due to the banks' automated fraud systems.

I had an argument with my bank a while back because it routinely blocked over 50% of my card deposits for no obvious reason, because the transactions they did not block were to the same casinos and for similar amounts. They said there was nothing that could be done about it, I would just have to accept the decline lottery.

The thing that makes me panicked is that there are "bad customer" databases out there that list people who do chargebacks and stop them from making purchases elsewhere as you may have seen some casinos on this site mention when they stop customers from depositing. I don't want my name coming up on those.

A classic example is Cassava/888. When you see Cassava, it's almost impossible to find out any info. A good example of what should be done is if it's a matter of trying to be more discreet with the transaction names is to put a website as the transaction name and then have a page saying something like "We process transactions on behalf on a number of online games" or something rather than how it is at the moment.

I'm curious isn't gaming leangle in the UK . why not have there casino or brand name on it I'm probably in the dark a bit but I'm thinking bit coin would solve it for every one that needed cover :)

That's what i don't understand. Maybe some people are ashamed of gambling and companies want to help enable it? I really have no idea. It seems to be the casinos that have an international appeal. Maybe someone from the industry could clear up why this is.

Quite common for casinos to have the financials handled by a different company, which is either

1. a subsidiary of the casino owner

- early morning here, hence can't remember the name but will dig more in the afternoon when i am more awake :D

or

2. the platform provider (who in that case is the license holder)

- Guts/Betspin/Rizk - MT Secure Limited or
- Casino Luck/Next - Everymatrix Ltd.

I have had transactions come in on the same day from deposits made the same day On same site but names was different, Yet only hours apart, When you have as many transaction pass by the bank as many as I do it can be a bit frustrating when trying to work out whats been took when in different names, Alot of company's do not use such things as casino in the description due to the fact that these transactions are hot,
Big major brands such as ladbrooks which are well known than not so much hot,

I have had thousands upon thousands of transactions all to do with casino and not one has been stooped, I did use one of my different banks for a week or two and instantly got a call from the bank,

Alot of 888 cassava is now coming out of Ireland,
VIRTUAL MASERIRL card purchase IRELAND

I mean what the f&ck is that about, How on earth are you ment to work out where that came from is beyond me,

I do not understand why a transaction sometimes has to wait 2 -3 days before debited? We are in a tech world now days not back in the 70- 80's when using on fashioned cheques, why cannot all transaction be instant?
