I was e-mailed Tuesday that I was now a VIP at Virgin Games (due to losing on Raping Rhino).

Now, due to low deposits and stakes I have never had VIP status before. I have seen down the years the decent and regular match bonuses, free chips, extra points and events etc. VIP players seem to get.

So I eagerly read down to see this dog-dirt:

From memory, "Dear loser we have granted you VIP status. To mark this event we will give you 25% of your net losses over the next 3 days as a match bonus. This means losses minus deposits for the next 3 days. You will receive 25% back as a bonus credited on Saturday for when you next deposit."

So as a 'reward' this VIP has to play and lose over 3 days for the privilege of getting a match bonus of up to 25% of those net losses. Most sites I play at WITHOUT being a 'VIP' give weekly 50% or 100% bonuses regardless of losing or winning.

I started a session, a few spins on Rhino, but so p*ssed off was I with this crap going through my head I couldn't enjoy it. I opened live chat and an account I've had for years has now been permanently closed. If they'd kept their mouths shut I'd have happily carried on being treated like the un-bonused and un-incentivized piece of shit I hitherto was!

Virgin, you really know how to make a 'valued' player feel good!

This is the first time I've ever closed an account for this type of reason. So their pathetic VIP offer backfired. Without I would still be playing there regularly and no doubt losing. Now they'll never get another penny from me. Tight as an Endorphina twerker's ass they are.

OK, so I ask those bigger punters with experience of VIP status at their various sites - Have I been unreasonable here and acted irrationally, or would you consider it the crock of shite that I did??

You can find the Casinomeister review of Virgin Games HERE

Far from a hi-roller as you know and only ever managed VIP status for a brief period a few years back. (Was at VPL, weekly phone call, 100% matches, free £20 here and there you get the picture)

Now it seems you have a very similar 'Rage Button' to myself, this is the sort of thing that is like adding injury to insult and as you mention 'Letting sleeping dogs lie' would have been the best form of attack on this one for sure!

I too have my short list of casinos where I have been loyal as a puppy, odd free comp, some FS here and there and the odd PM from the rep on here and the wonderful recent opportunity Mark from 32 Red did for me recently (the roulette video) and a 'goody bag' from Yits @ Guts.

Loyalty rewarded, yes indeed, with out any mention of this dreaded 'VIP Status' and I much prefer it this way

In closing, entirely agree and share your frustrations totally.

I would have closed the account just for the opening line alone. Most can appreciate a bit of humour or wit but that just takes the piss!

I've recently been made a VIP and I don't even highroll. The whole tag has cheapened anyway and doesn't mean a lot by the looks of it.

And the match offer is absolute dog manure too

Insulting and pointless offer if I ever saw one so can understand the account closure - even though I do like Virgin every now and then.

I aint been a vip since I was a player at the FL group. Years back. Used to loose small fortunes weekly though.

But the VIP program was the dogs bollocks for me back then. Tons of bonuses / fast cashouts - just used to email vip manager and he would do it for me.
Also getting to test new MG games - used to get £100 quid deposited in my account each time I did that :)

And one or 2 times meeting them in person for dinner n booze. But jeeze did it cost me

I learned the very hard way how to gamble responsibly :) and these days have little or no chance of getting VIP status anywhere.

But 25% cash back on losses - makes them look like they competing with TonyBet for the crap offers!

I don't think a casino has classified me as VIP (perhaps informally). Though there have been perks associated with loyalty.
It's why I try to keep my casino list VERY, VERY short.
I think the relationship is more important than the title, unless specific perks come with it (like, say Club Rouge - though never been a member) or WR and other criteria linked solely to VIP status or tier (ex 3Dice)

I would have closed it too.

Its almost like saying "here you go, sucker. Heres a really terrible offer but Im going to try and make it sound like its good. And hopefully you are stupid enough to take the bait"

This doesn't sound like a genuine VIP program, but more a marketing tool to get you to deposit and lose some more in order to receive a few crumbs back the following week. Hardly surprising it backfired as it makes their entire VIP program look crap, so why would someone desire such a crock of shite by playing some more?

A decent VIP program would OPEN for you with an offer, perhaps giving you back 25% of the recent losses as a bonus just to introduce you to the program, plus something to keep you interested in future play, which need not necessarily be a deposit bonus, although this is mostly what casinos use for their VIP programs.

A DECENT VIP program would give you something like a weekend in Vegas, or a weekend in a country hotel, at least 4 star. I have had both from decent VIP programs.

Opening line is offensive and would have made me write back with a strong worded opening line too :D

When I became a VIP at Jackpot City (before the UKGC chaos) the opening line invited me on a all expenses paid holiday to Belfast. Weird, but appreciated the offer - I took the cash alternative :p

You absolutely have mate. VIP is an abbreviation after all.....

Very
Irrational
Person

I'm sorry mate, I couldn't resist. Don't hate me please. :)

Sorry guys, just to clarify they didn't call me 'loser' - I merely substituted my name. You know me by now. I should have put 'tw@t' in there or something a tad more extreme to make it clearer!!

It is however an accurate word for the underlying message.:(

It took me a while but I figured it out......eventually. No idea why some of us took that literally. D'oh!

But for sheer shock factor that is an awesome opening line. Maybe all casinos will end up using that as standard soon!

I agree with vinyls comments...I don't think this is genuine VIP.

I've been VIP'd at a bunch of casinos lately and the comp is almost always free money -no strings. Anything else I think is just gimmicks (except maybe Nicola's weekend trip to Belfast offer).

Never really mentioned the VIP status as I take them as a crock of crap anyway. Dear Ladbrokes...

Anyhow, Richard Bransons team.....But I did get banned for speaking to them about the same issues. No wins. Now you would think I went in all WHERE THE FCUK ARE THE WINS and got banned for being abusive.... but no, I was banned because I was asked if I am playing beyond my means and I asked what the hell that has to do with the fact there are never any payouts that make gaming feel like fun?

Ignoring the middle sentence (which makes no sense - is that a direct quote???), does the offer work like this:
Say you deposit & lose £400 over 3 days.
Then they give you a £100 (25% of losses) match bonus. i.e. you deposit another £100 to get a £100 match, and then have the WR to complete? :eek2:

Either way, it looks like an extreme heap of crap to me, which someone has tried to make look like a bunch of roses... and failed!

Totally right to give them the boot - what were they thinking???
