Your Input Please Mobile vs Desktop?

I was just reading an article regarding mobile casinos and it got me thinking. We are now at a point where pretty much every online casino has a mobile option although with generally less games choice right now. For years, a lot of insiders has been saying mobile is the future of gaming and yet I remain a 100% desktop/laptop player myself. Might be an age thing of course

If you use a mobile phone a lot (for web-related stuff in particular), I'd love to hear whether or not you play mobile casinos and if so, whether that is on a phone or a tablet. Or if you prefer desktop and have tried both, why?

It would also be interesting to know if playing on a mobile device makes you play more, or less and for longer or shorter sessions? If you play on both mobile and desktop/laptop, how does it affect the way you play, bet size, do you get distracted?

It would be useful if you could give some idea of how much of a role the mobile plays in your everyday life actually, just for perspective.

Use a mobile loads for many things and will often bet on sports on it.

But never gamble at casinos on mobile. Always use desktop and I gamble enough on slots without having to gamble on them everywhere I go on mobile.

I feel once it gets to stage that I need to play slots on mobile when im away from desktop then that's the day I have a problem and need to give it up.

about 99% desktop, but again it may be an age thing, I have played some stuff on an ipad, and its definitely a decent experience nowadays, i wouldnt want to be playing slots on a mobile though given the alternatives.

99.9999% on desktop. Only played 2 x on mobile when the promotion was FS on mobile only, won't happen again.

That small window, tedious to change bet size or amount of autospins etc etc. ensure that it will be 100% desktop.

I'm with Paul on this one, once i have the urge to spin the reels while on the move than it becomes clear that i have a problem.

The only time (and these will be the only times) I played on a mobile device was whilst I was on holiday in Barbados. Videoslots dropped a very generous birthday chip into my account that required using within 7 days.

It was kind of cool laying on a sunny beach overlooking the blue Caribbean sea, cocktail in one hand and mobile in the other slotting it away. Icing on the cake was that despite a 10x play through on the chip, I managed a withdrawal!

Desktop all the way, much better 'experience' and as others have said I really can't see the point of being able to play slots whilst you are 'Out and about' simply no need.

My mobile is old and not even capable of most slots (with maybe the exception of oldies like Thunderstruck and Mermaids)

The beauty of my mobile is I can talk to people on it and they can talk to me, casinos can %^$^ off.

PS: I'd miss my irritating fan and laggy spins if I was ever to abandon my DT

Im playing on a tablet, only because my labtop is kaput.

I prefer laptop because I can play any casino, and all the games, which is very very limited on a tablet. And some competions is only on a pc or labtop.

I never use my smartphone for gaming and only playing casino when Im home alone.

No, not at all....I play the same either on tablet or labtop........but I have to get my labtop fixed, because all the great games I like to play can only be at my labtop.

I got $ 50 nd free chip for Casinoval but I cant use is on a tablet:-(

BUT... if I had to commute to work by train or similar, or have spare time in the day with nothing else to do while away from home, I might be tempted to have a little flutter on the move. I think the last time I played on my mobile was about 4 years ago while in London for LAC.

However, I think it could be an age thing too - about 95% of all the under 30's I see, seem to constantly have their mobile in their hand doing something or another - so I can well imagine that mobile casinos could be a VERY big growth market...

The latest figueres I got that I can share is from a mayor slot provider reflecting Q2 this year.

The use of mobile is very different from country to country. UK had the highest rate of mobile players with over 50% of the spins made through a mobile device including tablets.
Sweden had 35% and surprisingly enough only 17% in Finland. (probably Nokia related who didn't get into smart phones early enough).

The average session was 19 min per session on desktop and 10 min on mobile.

And that is quite a crucial statement IMO. There are lots of distractions on a phone plusand I wonder if the attention span on a phone is therefore quite a bit shorter. When I have the laptop on my lap it feels more engrossing/engaging than when I am doing stuff on the phone. A tablet falls somewhere in-between but you really need two hands to play (one to hold, one to spin) which I find shortens my sessions.

Very interesting. I don't doubt them but those 2 stats do seem a little contradictory - is there another factor in play? Also, the casino that provided those stats might make a big difference as some are more geared to attracting mobile players.

I was surprised myself when I was presented the numbers. The figures are however not from one single casino but from one of the biggest slotproviders out there.

I never ever play on my mobile. And I never will. For me playing online is a way to relax at home and have some fun.
In that way I do not carry casinos "in my pocket" and it is also a way to control my gambling.

Laptop all the time for me. No interest to play on my mobile.
Going away for Christmas and new year so will get a couple of weeks off from casinos.
Will hit the partytimes instead lol

For me it's ~90% Desktop PC and when I try to relax and play on the couch I use my tablet.

However i don't like how many of the slots behave on the tablet. It's just so slow, you can't quick-spin really and the spins don't work perfectly on my phone while on my desktop computer it works perfectly - quick spins, fluent animations and I can read the CM forum while I play

But I also think the CM-community is not representative to the whole gambling community since many here are above the average age of players.
I can imagine the lads that are between 18-30 are heavily using mobile devices. But it doesn't really appeal to me why either. When I'm on the go I don't really want to play.

I used to play on my pc only.... Until I won 5500$ on 300 shield mobile... And 3500 euros on twin spin mobile... I have never been lucky on those 2 games on desktop... So I am having a hardtime no playing on my mobile...

If DOA was available on mobile I would propably never touch a pc to gamble... And since I work 12 hours a day in front of a computer... I am just tired to sit there... Better on the couch with my mobile... I could play on a laptop but I dont like it... Too small...

I love my tablet. It's a cinch to throw in a purse, and works quite well with one hand left to hold a pint, lol. I don't have wi-fi at home, but it's part of my future plans. The tablet comes into the tub with me. I am watching Inspector Morse, but I could see slotting in the future.

For travel, they are super easy to take along.

It does most of everything I used to do with my old netbook, so please don't force your mobile platform on me. I don't always want the spin button in the middle of game, Well, pretty much never if you give me a choice. I have a small 7" screen, and I am pretty satisfied with how it works at those casinos that just let us use the desktop version. Tablets have become extremely affordable (sales put them under $100).

There are 2 in one tablets, with the screen detachable for use as a tablet.

Maybe someday I will even use mine on a beach someday. I don't know how you saw anything on it in bright daylight!

Even though I've played from public networks, I try to avoid any financial transactions on them.

And my favourites usually get a tablet session when grandchildren are asleep and I'm babysitting.

Some top picks for how well they work for me mobile are in no particular order:

Wild Jackpots and therefore I am assuming GoWild as well for MG play. Sorry 32Red, your download files via your mobile app eat up my limited and precious tablet storage space. My Kindle doesn't.

BetSpin. Some of the things that are akward or require a lot of scrolling can be a nuisance, but here they seem to have it more right than most places, and I never had a problem at all playing.

Bet-at and Slotty Vegas. They give you a choice of switching back and forth between the versions. There are a couple of games I enjoy that don't make their usual roster on mobile, like Voila, an underrated 243 way game with lower variance. I love the cheesy little fun french ditty during the bonus rounds. Pretty sure it's the same singer as Burning Desire.

I am sure there are many others that work well, but there are others I have tried that did not. I won't name names as there's a chance they have improved, but I don't gamble that often on the move I need every casino.

Live chat however is usually very cumbersome, and will sometimes work better on the mobile versions.

Interesting numbers - did they break the mobile action down into sports betting vs. casino play? I think the former possibly delivers more mobile action.

Do you have a link to the quarterly report concerned or can you disclose the company that released the information?

PC vs MOBILE ?

Well all my play is on PC / laptop, I canot stand the mobile, Only if I have free spins and for mobile only than may log on with the blower and do the spins, I canot really see a future using mobile for slots,

I know they say its the next thing using mobile but I dout it, I suppose for the hardest gamblers it may be a quick fix why at work lol or on a train, Other than that its pointless

I use both but more desktop. The main reason I use mobile at all is due to connection/lagging issues with WMS slots and the next gen games are excruciating to play on desktop.

Will play WMS/NXG on computer if doing a bonus(to prevent playing max bet by mistake) But much prefer to play these two softwares on mobile.

MG and Netent however more on the computer.

Funnily enough I also run better on Twin Spin mobile and on Lights touch...

Do you bet as fast,as big, slower, for less time, in shorter sessions, longer sessions, do you play teh same games, do you put it down and wander off and come back later? Do you sepnd similar money over perhaps a longer period, or do you save money by playing less?

Wms and next gen on mobile compared to desktop is like night and day. I get on bonus rounds much quicker because it's not as slow and it's a more enjoyable experience.

I would definitely say shorter sessions is a huge incentive to play mobile, it's literally sometimes go on a slot win big in 20mins cash out the win.

Earlier in the year I was on 300 shields mobile no longer than 45mins, in this time I completed hundreds of spins got through several bonus rounds and won 205€ roughly.

Whereas on desktop it would take hours to do the same amount of spins and my mobile Is nearly 3years old.

The same with some netent slots several don't work at all on my computer but are perfect on mobile.

It really does have its advantages and of course we can have a spin anywhere, except crappy Scot rail since they implemented no gambling this year.

As for bet sizing I'd say I stick to the sane sizes I would normally my betting is well disciplined now.

Funnily enough I did set pyramid Touch on auto and came back to it on a streak. That game is just mind numbing on computer with frequent crashing.

Playing on mobile is just more comfortable. I play exactly the same. I always play for 20 minutes or so for 1$ a spin. The only game I play longer is DOA on autospin while I do the dishes I never bet more than 0.45 on DOA though. My goal is always to win between 200 and 1000 with a 50 dollars deposit. Sometimes I put my mobile down on autoplay. Microgaming doesnt offer it on mobile so I don't play much of these games. Anyway MG slots never made me won anything. Dead spins all the time. Nextgen slots are the best on mobile IMO.

desk top for sure , ive only tried two casinos on mobile , redbet & unibet this year .
