I have just tried to deposit at Casino Saga, and the transaction was declined.

Checked with CS and it's apparently because Neteller have now blocked any transaction from the UK to casino saga, who I believe are based in Sweden.

So I don't know if this affects all Neteller transactions from the UK to Sweden or just transactions from the UK to casino saga.

I only deposited there 2 days ago, without any problems.

The transaction details on my Neteller account state "Merchant blocked geolocation"

To be honest, Casino Saga shouldn't be letting you play as they do not have a license for UK players.

Have their CS confirmed you are eligible to play?

Thats what I was wondering as I tried to register there a few months back but got blocked at an early stage and when i talked to CS they said they didnt accept uk players.

I've been playing there since April this year. I didn't have a problem joining and haven't had any problems depositing or withdrawing.

CS just told me to use a different deposit method

Neteller also blocking deposits to 3dice and Jackpot Capital. Not sure why..
Sounds ominously like they might be blocking all payments to casinos who are not UK licensed...
That will be a real bummer if true - as Neteller is my preferred method at most casinos.
(Might be a good thing as far as 3Dice is concerned though - as most of my deposits disappear as quickly as a snowball in a furnace there!)

I just remembered - one of the casinos I promote (not UK licensed) say they can no longer pay me by Neteller - so there could be something in this...

It does, but it's not very good that Neteller are doing this in secret rather than informing their UK customers of a change in policy and amending their terms and conditions accordingly.

However, in one way this is a good thing. Some casinos not licenced in the UK could well happily take deposits from UK players, but then use the licencing situation to void any winnings greater than the total of deposits.

The question remains as to whether this is Neteller's own policy, or signs that the UKGC are now addressing the issue of getting UK based (to include IOM based Neteller UK) financial service providers to block UK players from transacting with non UK licenced casinos. The thinking is probably that this would act as a deterrent, and perhaps alert naïve UK players that they should only be playing at UK licenced casinos.

If it's UKGC inspired, we may find other deposit methods being closed down for UK players who continue to play at non UK licenced casinos like 3Dice and RTG casinos that are happy to flout the rules.

I meant to mention about my chat with saga , they said as i had the account for quite a while i could carry on using it despite the licensing changes, rather naughty. I haven't deposited or tried to , to see what happens but just thought i would share.

After the raging bull thread I took a look at my account, Looking at the banking it states nettler, Country restrictions apply, Either its been there all the time or just been added due to what god knows has happened,

This is good, something pro-active.

May seem like a PITA but how many people would be complaining if they were able to deposit then had problems when it came to withdrawing.

I see this as a good move, if they don't have the licence UK players should not be allowed to join and play anyway.

On the same stroke I'd like to see verification policies change so that players can verify before depositing instead of running into issues when they get a little bit of luck.

There is nothing at all on Neteller to tell users that any such policy is in place, nor of course how it operates. This is not good, even though the policy itself is. Players need to know WHY this is happening otherwise the casinos that are being blocked may well try to BS their way into convincing the UK player that it's merely a "technical issue", and nothing to do with the new licencing laws. This would negate the purpose of the policy, which is to prevent unlicensed casinos from taking money from UK players.

UK players who unwittingly play at unlicensed casinos enjoy no protection whatsoever under the new rules.

I e-mailed Neteller to ask about this yesterday morning - so far, no response... :(

few days ago my transaction to casinoroom declined from neteller, asked casinoroom they said its neteller's problem, asked them n they said merchant has asked us to discontinue payments from the UK

So both sides in this case were blaming each other as well, also is casinosaga taking UK players?

Blocked at Inetbet using Neteller. They do a 200% bonus on Sunday. Anyone tried Skrill at Inetbet?

Me too at Inetbet Euro mate I was shocked when I found out :( They also refuse when I try visa card deposit at Inetbet Euro it says Management security or something like that So I guess my VIP status at InetBet Euro will now go away as can not deposit and play anymore :(

Bit of a bummer from me as I though Inetbet Euro was actually licensed uk now. (though how could they be with euros doooooh )

neteller also declining allbritish casino now

They are licenced though, and it's still active.

One of the error messages shown here mentions geolocation, so it very much looks like an attempt to limit UK players to UK licenced casinos. However, if this is also hitting All British, then something has gone wrong.

Now we have merchants saying the problem is with Neteller, and Neteller saying some merchants have asked Neteller to block UK deposits.

Now, when it comes to Neteller rewards, some merchants do ask Neteller not to operate this scheme with them, and Neteller show a list of non participating merchants, so what's the big deal with us not being allowed to know what is REALLY behind this sudden occurrence of "geolocation blocking" of deposits?

Could be that that lots of bonus abusers use e-wallets as depositing and withdrawal methods. Block the method, less hassle for casinos.

You would of thought but some casino only give bonus when depo by ewallet and visa versa,

I guess this would be a good time to point out that these accred casinos should be accepting Neteller deposits from UK players:
Link Outdated / Removed

Why am I not surprised that most everyone was in the dark until it happened? It's almost to be expected.

Shame on Neteller who has had a prominent stand at the last few affiliate conferences. They need to be communicating these changes (this one is pretty big) to their customers and partners.

You can say that again!
I have been trying for the last several days to get a definitive answer from them via Live Chat, Regular support and Merchant Support. So far all I have got is being fobbed off, given incorrect information and ignored

I just looked back at ALL my transactions with them since I signed-up in 2003, and with all my casino deposits, withdrawals and affiliate payments combined I have moved way more than half a million dollars through their system - and yet they treat my honest simple questions with total contempt.
I'm pretty disgusted with the way they are treating their loyal customers. :(
