My next 5 day jaunt with casino fun is to Warsaw, Poland in early July. We are staying at the Hilton in Warsaw which I believe has a nice Olympic casino. Any info, hints, tips on gambling or anything really would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Went to krakow this year. People were lovely. Prices were great - half UK for most things, restaraunts fantastic value, cigs a third of UK, beer very nice.

I hadn't really rated Polish food until I went there, for me a foreign trip pretty much requires trying local food and I was very pleasantly surprised. Mind you I am partial to dumplings, pickles, sausages....

I was there in the 90's. It was kind of dismal. I remember a "London Broil" restaurant near my hotel whose name escapes me now. Krakow at least was pretty and green, and the food was at least edible if not good.

Does anyone know if the hilton casino is still open? I heard rumours it had closed down. Going to be in warsaw shortly....

Been to Poland a few times and indeed prices are very very reasonable.
Not comparable with for example Ireland where everyone tries to rip you off.

Also I found the people very friendly.

Krakau is a nice city but if you have the time go and visit Gdansk, my favourite Polish city. ;)

I have never been to Poland myself my all my Polish friends tell me its very pretty and prices for the important stuff like beer is reasonable:D

Edit: I forgot but I think Cadbury's have lots of chocolate factories there so I assume the chockies are fairly fresh
