Hey guys,

Lately I am watching and reading a lot of stuff about the MIT card counting teams that operated in USA casino's for many years (and maybe still do,not sure).
Don't know anything about MIT Blackjack Teams?

I just wonder why these guys always have been persecuted and when possible banned from casino's.
Ok,they made loads of money and they could clean up a table pretty fast but let's face the facts,a casino get's over 85% of it's revenue from slots so no matter how many times card counting teams would hit a casino,it wouldn't really hurt them in the pockets that much I say.

This makes me think casino's do not like people who are able PURE with skill and talent to beat one of their games that normally has a very high edge for the house.
These teams are looked upon as criminals while I think they are fantastic and brilliant.

They play a game, and beat it legit!!!!
No machine's,no software,no rogue ways to basicly beat the game but just and only conducting skill and maths.

I never understood why casino's had such big issues with them, except for the fact they take some money from the casino.
But hey, with the revenue of a casino I think it was still only a small amount and they'd still make huge daily profits.

I think it is different if you use real cheats and tricks to alter the outcome of a game like happened a lot in the 80s and 90s on slots...Also in Holland...
There were loads of devices on the market that would allow you to empty the hoppers... ^^
Not that is cheating and stealing.

But playing blackjack with a brilliant mind?

Is that crooked?

I love the stories about MIT and have a few books and DVD's about them..
Darn wish I would be able to count cards but I would not have the patience to learn all that anyway LOL.

because I don't think a person has to be that brilliant to card count once they learn the short cuts then theres the fact that its way more profitable to work in groups

Because of the their skill the odds are now not in the casinos favor which can screw with the casinos profit, so they ban them.

From my experience of working in B&M casino what BMW states above is the main reason.

However we used to allow the more 'known' card counters to continue to play as even they could still 'get it wrong' occasionally and had 'off' days.

We used to also place 'temporary bars' on these type of members, in that they were not totally banned just allowed to play slots, roulette, poker etc but no BJ (Think the idea was for them to 'do their money' at these other games and after a while let them back on BJ so the casino had already preemptively covered its losses)

Exactly, they also have bad streaks and off days and large sums flow back into the casino.
Also I do understand operating in groups obviously better and gives you even a stronger hand against the casino then while playing solo and try to beat the system.

And yes the casino might lose a few pound but the majority of people still lose in a casino and that defo goes for blackjack as it is a game which is very much in favour of the house on the long run.
