Withdrawing via a check scares me!

Just venting my anxiety :)

Withdrawing this way often takes two weeks. Occasionally the check gets lost in the mail. Friday of last week, I withdrew $2940 and am still biting my nails (and obviously its not here yet lol). Today I withdrew $3895 and am paranoid about the check getting lost. With my fav place 32Red casino, it was always like this, however they've happily cancelled and re-submited my checks before, but my new local casino here at Casinomeister Maple casino is the new experiment (and despite being a Canadian casino its unable to do direct bank transfer / SWIFT :what: )

Anyone have similiar fears when withdrawing their bigger wins this way?

You can always ask them to send registered mail, Tell them you do not mind paying for it, Takes the pain away knowing where it is, Only ever had one check sent to me years ago & all honestly I forgot all about it till I got a knock at the door with a big arss envelope and had to sign for it,

From a being in the US perspective. Taking a check is a huge risk for us period.

Most of our checks are coming from Canada. Which normally wouldn't be a bad thing, yet the problem comes to be. Sometimes the check takes a bit to get here. Especially if coming regular mail. I've had a few take up to 2 weeks to arrive.

Then of course we have the lovely some of our banks take longer than others to send checks over to Canada for processing.

With all said above, we have to worry about the processor being caught, running off with funds, or our lovely government stepping in and asking the bank to freeze or close the account.

I read here on CM about a person depositing a check, and the bank sat on it for 60 days before sending it over to Canada for processing. By then the bank account was already closed.

So far I've never really had an issue with taking a check, knock on wood. Yet I'm still waiting for that day that one big doozey comes in the mail to find out it wasn't any good.

I have requested a cheque on a few occasion over the years. The later back you go 2004-2009 for example, yes there were lengthy delays getting a cheque and getting it cashed, but not in today's electronic age.

I have a friend that withdraws a couple times a month since 2013, from 32 red, and if the amount is over $2000.00 for example, the cheque has historically arrived within 5 business days of the request via professional courier.

Her bank always cashes the cheques right away, no questions asked.

This being said, I can only speak from our personal experience with Microgaming casinos here in Canada.

My mailman is constantly delivering mail to me that's addressed to everyone on the block (and who bloody knows where MY mail is going) so I'm a little leery of having checks sent too. I'm also in Canada and I use the prepaid Visa from MoneyMart to deposit and withdraw, it's pretty convenient because once you have funds on it, you can just go to any ATM and withdraw cash. Of course there are fees, you pay a monthly fee and for ATM withdrawals, and now they've started charging for online top ups too - but at least it's a flat rate and not a percentage. IMO it beats waiting for a check.
