Hi guys,

I do currently a good bit of affiliating through offline tracking codes for a few accredited casino's on CM.
This works fine as these codes are linked to me and whenever a new player signs up and deposits I get my commission. ^^
I use those in flyers which I just pop into peoples mailboxes,in local land based amusements halls and bookmakers and I use them on social media like Google + and Facebook.
This works fine but now I really want to expand and get my own website/blog up and running.
I have played so many online casino's over the past 2 years and what I would like to do is make my own casino review website and start to do some affiliating through banners and stuff as well.

Well here is the problem.
I am very good with computers, very good with most software and quite tech. savvy.
However I lack knowledge about using certain programming languages, using code and stuff like that.

So I was looking online and found tons of affiliate website builders which allow you to create your own website from scratch without having to know anything about codes and stuff.
What is not clear to me is following, can I place like banners on such websites when I would build one this way?
Are these online builders ok to use for affiliating?

I have already purchased 2 domain names and I have a good idea how I would like to make my website look like.

*Can someone give me some good online affiliate website builders?
*Can I get casino themed skins as most of these builders do not offer any casino skins.

So basicly I was just looking for some tips and help as I want to start building an affiliate website and get it up and running.

I know there is a good few people here who have nice websites (I checked them all) :) and hopefully you guys could help me make a start.

I have no interest in spending hundreds of Euro's to get someone to design one for me as I would like to do it myself, even with the help of an online website builder (which supports banners and stuff). ^^

Thanks already in advance for your answers guys.

Much appreciated.

Mark.

Wish you good luck, and though i myself have no experience with these so called skins, from what iv'e seen and from what i know from a few friends who recently have made a few sites using those.. (not affiliates, but still) i wouldn't see why not, but i am always a bit wary about anything pre-produced..

Anyway, i suggest you ask permission from Bryan, to add you to the "webby" user group, and then you can check the webmaster section, which has a bunch of helpful threads!

Edited to add:

I am curious about those flyers you mentioned?
Don't the amusement halls and arcades see that as aggressive countermarketing? if the people who play there get interested in the Online Casinos, wouldn't they stay away from those halls., or at least visit less?

You have never been told to scram? :D

Cheers Incredible, might ask Bryan indeed. :)
Didn't ask yet as I am not a webby yet,but thinking of being one soon.

About the flyers,of course I ask for permission before putting a stack down in those places.
As it is mostly local and I know a lot of people it was never an issue really. :)
On Google+ and Facebook & Twitter for example I have separate accounts only used for affiliating stuff and people who follow me are the only ones who get my messages and updates.
Obviously they follow me as they have the same niche which is gambling, slots mainly. :)

I did that too, before i had my site, for the exact same reasons, to learn more before i actually would start, and Bryan doesn't mind if you are one, are becoming one or are just very interested AFAIK :)

I see, permission and knowing a lot of people there helps of course:D

Yeah in Ireland it is all quite easy and people are not as hard to deal with as in comparison to The Netherlands maybe. :)
I will PM you a wee flyer I am working on at the moment for a specific casino, just to give you an idea what I am talking about.

regards,

Mark.

(how about a thank you button here Bryan?:D)

And for some reason I cannot e-mail attachments to you Incredible.
Might just be because I am on a proxy as I am in the office. ^^ :)
If that is the case I will PM you a copy tonight after work.

No rush, but just to check i have browsed through my general settings here, and it seems i can only receive emails from Mods and friends.

P.m.'s from everyone though.
So i just added you to my friend list, maybe that will help:thumbsup:

Hi lotusch,
I don't know some website builders but did you consider using wordpress?
It's quite easy to learn the basics(since you're a techy guy), there are a lot of casino/gambling themes, and most of affiliate guys are running they're websites on wordpress, so there'll be plenty of folks out there to give you a hand when you need one.

I think it's an option you have to consider :)

Moved to the Webmaster's Corner instead of the Want ads section since it's a webmaster topic.(there are no "Thanks" buttons in the Want Ads).

Anyone is able to join the Webby user group in your control panel - it's only the Webmeister group hat is moderated. More info here:

Hey there, yeah looked into that too...
And that is defo a viable option...
Thanks for mentioning it though!

And thanks for the heads up Bryan!
Much appreciated.

Thanks,

I also suggest Wordpress - if you're doing a small site then doing a hand coded website is ok, but when you start adding stuff it can get overwhelming in a short amount of time.

I've been using Wordpress for my aff site, but I've built a couple other sites that way too so I'm pretty confident in tinkering under the hood. The only two things you need to be careful of is to make sure your Wordpress install is up to date, and where you're getting your free templates if you use one - sometimes you'll install something that has redirects or ad links or something hidden in there.

Wordpress is a database driven CMS so as people are browsing your site, the content gets pulled from the database - so that gives you the option to have a lot more control over everything. Wordpress isn't for the faint of heart though and can seem a little daunting if you're not used to it. I recommend that you go to wordpress.com, you can sign up for a free blog - just do a fake or sample one because I'm not sure you can do aff stuff and I'm pretty sure you can't use your own domain.

Anyhow once you've created your new blog, you can take a look at the Wordpress back end - at least it will give you the opportunity to play around with it and try different templates and stuff and see if you even like it. There are tons of youtube videos for newbies, but make sure that you're looking at something recent because it's changed a bit. If you get stuck with anything, feel free to ask me and I'll try to help. :)

+1 Wordpress. It requires some learning but nothing too technical, just more a way to get around and understand the concept of plugins and themes. I know several non-techie affiliates who don't do HTML but can handle wordpress easily.

It is also very flexible and above all, scaleable... many site builders have severe limitations which you will hit quite quickly and wish you'd gone the WP route.

Thanks guys, will take it all on board and hopefully I can present a decent affiliate website soon. :)
Really looking forward to create something nice, idea's enough in my mind.

@Simmo,really do like your website(s)...Slick and very easy to navigate!

Shhhh... don't tell anyone, but I knew jack-squit about HTML when I started my first website - I just used Microsoft Word documents uploaded to the net.
8 years later and my site is still built the same way. I do know a tiny bit about coding, but not enough to scare anyone!
My Rival Gaming site is the same, while my SlotBeaters site is a combination of uploaded Word and Excel documents.
I did use 1and1.co.uk for a couple of sites using their "web builder" software - but that is complete and utter crap which I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.
Keep thinking I should learn how to do it properly after all these years, but between you and me - I can't be arsed!
(Don't tell anyone I said that!)

I'm in the process of tinkering with a site at the moment, I've gone down the Wordpress route, the hosting I'm using has a 1 click install for it, I think most decent hosts have that nowadays. But as far as hosting in the uk goes I'm using tsohost.com highly recommended,

I would suggest you have a look at flytonic dot com :D They have great specially made affiliate themes with a nice back end as well so its very easy to do.

Yes it does cost a bit but I bought it and very happy with it. Though still need to do lot of work as mainly working with my forum site.

But also a very good tip. You want to become member at AffiliateGuardDog and aslo GPWA. There are loads of people to help and give you great advise there.

Good luck mate with everything. And PS please send me that flyer as well. I have had those ideas for years but never really got it started hehe. My other idea was to make a big bunch of business cards and start leaving them at all the bookies. Just don't know how rules really are. I am sure could pop some in at William Hill, Ladbrokes and Coral without staff notice. But could I get in problems for that? :)

Hey guys,

Decided to go with WP and started today.
Registered and upgraded as it was on offer for €80.00 for a full year. :)
I think it is worth the upgrade as now my blog will be adds free and I have many more options.

Also checked flytonic Paaske, and they do indeed have some nice skins/templates and might purchase one.
Just browsing the net to see if there are cheaper options as they do come with a price indeed. :)

Thanks for all your help and response guys.

Prolly will pop in here a few more times when stuck with something so go easy on me.

Have e-mailed already some casino's where I do offline tracking with and asked if I can start using banners and stuff for my website.
