Getting a feature but pays nothing

Hello all

just had an experience while playing on-line slots....got a feature on alice in wonderland and won from that feature absolutely zilch....:eek:

I didn't think that this was possible, the whole point of playing slots was to get a feature of some kind to win.....this puzzled me so i contacted cs to be told that this can happen as its part of slot culture......REALLY..:mad:

This is my first post on cm and i was hopping that it would be something more jolly then a moan....:rolleyes:

As you can tell im not a high roller on slots....but trust me ive never had this happen to me before.....how would YOU fell if you've made a large deposit and got the above......and won nothing else....

Personally i would like all casinos to list the slots that this can happen to......so we can make an alternative choice....after all they advertise how much you can win from a slot in big bold numbers......

sorry to be so negative i just thought i would throw it out there as it seems all casinos hold the cards but keep some of them hidden.....if you know what i mean...

I know its a sore one but to be honest there are many games where you get free spins and it can pay nothing. I have had that happen to me several times.

Also with some slots you can get a bonus where you pick prizes till you hit collect. Several times I have hit collect on first pick and win nothing. I hate it when it happens but guess its just part of gambling.
 
It might actually be shorter to compile a list of slots where you are guaranteed to win something on the feature.

We have a "screenshots that suck" thread here, you can find quite a few of those nasties there.

I can accept winning nothing on a bonus round, but it really gets my goat when it says

"Congratulations, you won 0 coins"

Least they could do is say "sorry, better luck next time".

I agree, there is nothing more annoying than getting a big fat ZERO on a feature or free spins but it does happen. It probably happens to me at least once a week or more.

just doesn't seem quite fair does it...... ( ever watched Paul Daniels in the bunco booth)....lol now you see your deposit...now you don't....that's magic:lolup:

As others have said, this is unfortunately not as rare as you may think. I'm not sure if Operators will go to the effort of reviewing all of their games to tell you which have the possibility of zero returns during a bonus round and/or feature, (as this could have quite a negative effect on their revenues). Don't despair quite yet though...

Many of the online slots from the traditional land-based manufacturers (e.g. WMS & Williams Interactive) have a "Bonus Guarantee". What this does is ensure that if you have a really bad round of free spins, or your 'pick x from y' leaves you in tearing your hair out, then your win is topped-up. These slots also usually have the information contained within the paytable, so with a little bit of digging, you can find out which ones offer it before risking your own hard-earned cash. Very frustrating I agree. Why don't they make slots so if a Feature is triggered then that would always pay a nice sum. But guess it is not that easy. But a feature should be something that really pays when you get it.

What I could suggest you is to maybe try out WMS slots a bit. Also there are quite a few slots out there where I have experienced them to always payout a nice sum of winnings. I think to remember IGT slots normalyl pay at least around 10-15 x on their features. I know at Party Casino their Jackpot slots do always pay a nice sum (not to refer or actually to recommend this Casino, but to give a suggestion)

But let me come back with some slots on that :thumbsup:

On a last line also RTG has got several slots with Feature Guarantee. But to warn they can actually end up paying very badly and you need to but quite lot of spins in it and I have notice always seems to be triggered after you have spend so much anyways.

WMS has slots with a feature guarantee.(guaranteed win).
So even if you win 0 or very little on the free spins the feature guarantee will award you with a cash amount,I believe mostly around 10x stake.
There is probably more slots but I know some WMS slots have that feature so you never end up empty handed. :)

Most games where the bonus is free spins have the possibility of paying zero for the free spins. Some slots pay for the scatters that trigger the free spins, others do not.

If you are new to playing online, you can always try playing an unfamiliar game in free mode for a bit, trigger a few features and see how they go. Don't forget you can get unusually lucky and think a slot is great, or some slots like Dead or Alive have a lot of poor bonus rounds, but when they hit, they hit BIG

My suggestion is to keep your bets small enough to have a reasonable chance of at least triggering a feature, maybe 1% or less of bankroll, if, like me, you enjoy playing.

Mix in the odd bigger bet, or up your bets when you bankroll increases for the occasional chance at a big win.
 
When I play slots I have one rule. Never chase the bonus feature, it becomes like an obsession. And often you just get disappointed anyway when the feature don't pay. If I get lucky and win big in a session with or without the feature I quit and withdraw.

Welcome to the club.....actually it's not that uncommon to win a big ZERO in features too......majority of the features are almost the same type as base game....so just imagine hitting a bad stretch and going 15 base game spins without a win!! Anyways hope your future features turn out to be better :thumbsup::thumbsup:
 
MGS is the worst for me, and Immortal Romance in particular (these days).
Half my free spins feature 10 dead spins (I always pick Amber), occasionally I'll get a small win like 2 scatter or 3oak w/wild but by and large, features are crap :rolleyes:

NetEnt seem the best for free spins. Rarely get nothing.
 
well if it's never happened to the OP, its clear he has never played the MG Software slots. Immortal Romance is the worst for me, never had so many bad rounds on any slot, same thing goes for all other 243 slots with the exception of Burning Desire(this too can result in 0x though)

Break the bank again is notorious for zero paying free spins, however I also get consistently low paying features on netent slots like JATB and DOA.

MG slots can be painful, although I recently got a nice $900+ free round feature off a $1.50 bet.

Today I also had a $300 free round feature on a $1.50 bet whilst playing netent.

It's all truly luck of the draw, but I am finding $1.50 to be my sweet spot in terms of good returns. I use to bet no lower than $3 per spin, but recently I have been getting the same, if not bigger and more consistent wins from $1.50 stakes.

Just my opinion of course.

The beauty of randomness is, it creates random and varying experiences and opinions. :)
 
It happens, although not to often to me. The worse I get is generally a 10x stake which is usually on IR, very rarely get less than that but I do get the odd one paying 1x stake which is just an insult.

Sure dont play for the feature but alot of the time you have put 30-150x stake to get to that stage and when it hits and it pays 10x its insulting. Best feature today almost 600x, worst feature today about 50x.
 
Yes, it is the pits when that happens, it happens to me quite abit at 3dice. It always makes ya wonder how the hell can that happen? But it does.

I also love when you get a feature that awards 100 spins, and 78 of those spins pay less than 50 cents. Again makes ya wonder lol

Slotro, I can't tell you how many times I get 3 black hearts on the very next spin after the 3 red hearts (It could at least have a default win of 3x the bet or something!)

Fortune Falls, I almost always get the very center flower for 3 free spins..... yielding next to nothing... It is insulting!

I had to chuckle on the Slotro remark...I played that game the other day because it was "HOT" according to the site. It was so hot that I did get the free spins, had over 37 spins and won a whole 9 bucks on something like 1.50 bet. I closed out that game and more than likely, that was the last time I will play it. LOL

Slotro is probably the one slot on 3Dice where you will get 0 coins more frequently during the free spins than any other slot. It still remains one of my favorite slots there because the free spins trigger more frequently than any other slot - so while the potential for 0 return is there, the potential for 100x or 200x is also there.

I have also gotten 0 coins on Happy Valley when selecting the 6 spins for 8x - but of course, that's mostly because you've raised the variance of the potential free spin round return.
