are signatures dofollow??

Hi, Bryan is busy fire-fighting today so it might take a bit of time for him to get back to you. If it slips by feel free to bump the thread in a couple days or so.

OK some of us here have earned the right to have signature links. These are OK they have been checked out by Byran and Max.

The links that come from a spammer you know the ones that say" I have a roulette system" LOL those I would stay away from.

If you look at our pics next to it it will say webmaster those are the safe people. Hope this helps.

I think this what your question was asking? :D

Actually what the OP was asking was whether signature links are FOLLOW or NOFOLLOW. Here's nofollow on wiki:
You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.

I know they used to be nofollow, and with the new Google penguin/panda thing that was better for everyone. I think something has changed because the last time I looked they're showing as follow now. 4,000+ follow links to me! :eek2:

Exactly,
That's why i was asking.
I thought they were nofollow on here, but suddenly i have loads of backlinks from here,( i don't say casinomeister is not a trusted website, lol) but i think it is better to have them no-followed

You're right, they were nofollow before. Probably just an oversight on Bryan's part - no doubt during the last update something got changed globally. Maybe send a PM in case he doesn't see this thread.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to this - busy bees and all that :p

We used vBSEO up until a May when the site came under attack. vBSEO was an unsupported script that was easy to hack into, so it was removed. Unfortunately, the removal caused a few problems. One of which was all of the old URLs for pages in the CMS and the user profiles reverted to their original "php?" script without a solution for a 301 redirect. In other words old URLs were broken to people's member profiles. I have to rewrite 301 redirects by hand.

Another problem is that all of the links in the forum were nofollow unless I chose to have then "follow" via the admin control panel in vBSEO. Since vBSEO is no longer being used, I can't do this.

I'm sure there is a solution for this, but I haven't looked into this yet.

Fixed it. Now the forum links have the nofollow attribute. I'm not sure how Google is handling these links at the moment - if they are depreciated since they come from a forum or not.

Thanks again Bryan!

just another small question.
if you click a username, a popup appears with a link "visit homepage"
Code:
    View Profile
    View Forum Posts
    Private Message
    View Blog Entries
    Visit Homepage
    View Articles

Code:
<a href="http://www.example.com" class="siteicon_homepage">
				Visit Homepage
			</a>

are thes also nofollow?

I find them as backlinks in ahrefs
and in WMT it is my second anchor "visit homepage"
which is from vbulletin boards only
so they are spidered for sure

and they might also be dofollow
