Please help to deal with the poker room PokerStars

Hello there,

Please edit your post immediately and remove your sensitive info, in-order to protect your personal security.

I've PM'd you and I've also reported your post, for your own protection.

Under no circumstances should you ever post specific info about your identity, accounts etc on a public forum.

Thanks for your understanding,

Hydr0

The reason why they don't let you deposit and then immediately withdraw without playing is anti-money laundering rules. Most casinos and poker rooms have this same thing. And since they decided to confiscate your money after you sent your documents and they did a security check, chances are they found something off with your ID or your CC or maybe even your gambling history.

On the last email you received, they told you who to contact to dispute this. I took the liberty of looking it up for you, here is the link to the complaint form:

Hi Zahar,

Never post sensitive data in an open forum on the Internet unless you don't care about identity theft.

If you have a complaint, please explain the problem in several sentences and maybe we can be of some help. To merely post email exchanges is not helpful.

This is what I got from reading it: He made a deposit of about $650 and then wanted to withdraw it. They said that because he hadn't played and the withdrawal was just what he deposited they needed him to say why and send docs. He sent his docs and said there was an accident or emergency, they said ok and that the WD would be processed and that from now on he should play if he's going to deposit.

Then after further security checks, they said, "Oops on further review we decided to confiscate the funds and we won't talk about if - if you want to dispute our decision go to the Isle of Man Gambling Commission...etc"

Which I provided the link to the complaint form.

I think that was it anyhow... ;)

Seems very unusual that they will simply confiscate a deposit in this manner.

What did you use to deposit? If they return the money back to source, then it is not Money Laundering. I.e. if you deposited with Visa and it goes back to that same Visa Card, then it's ok and you should not have to wager anything.

Regards,
Dieter

Same thoughts here.

The OP means pokerstars.com? They are really good poker site with good reputation as far as I know.
If I am right-please correct me if I'm wrong-, a few years ago, pokerstars was accused for helping money laundry by USA government, I think they proved they didn't, but after that, they might be very sensitive towards any suspicious act.

If OP can write again with the information of exactly what happened without leaking any of his personal information, he might be able to get some good ideas from other members here to get deposit back.

I remember it was a credit card. What would happen if there was a question of ownership of the card?

Was thinking the same thing Suz. That would complicate things for sure, and fraud would have to be ruled out first, prior to release of funds being given consideration.

..and when reading back on the thread I saw I just repeated what others had said before:oops:

Haha... Just reiterating the point based on Suze's thought, which btw came after chayton's post making the same point in more detail ;)

Forum Police? Didn't know that wasn't allowed. Please send me the invoice :)

Nothing new, it happens on this forum a lot!

Sorry! I should have been more clear with telling that it was me that have made a post responding to you.

Then I saw that what I told you already had been said earlier...so I deleted my reply.

I felt embarrassed for doing that so that's why the ''embarrassed smily''. Next time I'll be clearer.

Hey, no worries Tirilej :) Thanks 4 replying to my post to begin with.

All good, just having some fun with ya, after I misunderstood your post. Yeah, I missed the  icon. Usually sharper than that, time 4 bed :eek2:

Anyway, thanks 4 clarifying what you meant. That was sweet :)

I'm sorry if I gave you the impression that I was annoyed. I really wasn't.

Btw, don't ever feel embarrassed if you raise a point that's already been addressed. I'd say that we all do it from time to time. Some threads are so long that it's almost impossible at times to read each and every word before you. Happens with shorter threads too.

Anyway, nothing wrong with re-iterating a good point to offer support and add weight to a good preceding argument ;)

I'm not telling you anything you don't already know, I'm just re-iterating. Haha...

I have played at Pokerstars for years, and to be honest never even had to sent docs or verify myself in any form.
Their withdrawals are automatic, if the WD is less than your lifetime deposits.
Didn`t have the chance to read the emails in the first post, but in all fairness PS are as good company as it gets,
so there must have been something off. On the other hand, they can`t just confiscate the deposit.
If they think the player is up to no good, return the dep and close account.
