Never been a big forum guy but have made use of this forum and CM website for lots of tips on online casinos and which to play and not to play for a long time. I never thought the day would come but I must say after 7 years of continuous gambling in land based casinos sports betting online casinos scratch tickets lottery and anything you can think of. I am bored as hell from gambling. I've gambled nearly everyday for two years online playing slots for hours on end visit the casino in my city few times a week, I've had my big wins big losses ups and downs and lost over 100k in those 7 years. Money is not an issue and so it was pure entertainment. After so much experience with gambling you'll have your lucky days and bad days and go up and down but my final point is your always down in the long run and so it's just a time waster when you gamble like I do. I feel gambling has taken over my life as that is all i do, but now I'm fed up of seeing the reels spinning hoping I win money and won't even know what to do with it or probably spin some more to pass the time. I've used gambling as my entertainment be it pricey, never even cared when I won cause I've pretty wealthy but it is was my favorite form of entertainment, now I'm bored of it after abusing. Anyone else here ever gotten bored of gambling? It's no longer thrilling to win that 10-20k in a day then go back and play some more but always be down in the end. Any suggestions for new hobbies?

You could try getting into gaming either console or PC. You might find a game you can get into and be addicted to it more than gambling except it wont break the bank and will be a better thrill for you if winning money isn't that important to you.

I have spells of weeks/months I can't be bothered to play slots so I think it is very normal you get bored after some time, especially if I read how much time you have spent on gambling... :):)
So I think you should be happy really that you got bored...
Give it a rest for a few months and maybe then try again and you might enjoy it again...

But I know what you mean,on the long run the house always wins unless you hit that one time monster JP but that is only for the very few chosen ones in life...

I personally enjoy slots but am not a big fan of sports betting, bingo, lotto, scratch tickets anymore,I used to play more on these games in the past..
Nowadays I spend a fiver a week on the national lottery or Euro Millions hoping to hit a biggie, but that is about it..
About 15 years ago I hit 5 numbers & Bonusball in the Dutch lottery which paid me €2500 after tax while I only missed 1 number for the JP which was 8.1 million at the time... :eek2::eek2:
Did more sports betting also when I was younger but I never really won anything big on it as I would play low stakes and thus it is quite hard to win something big unless you place a grand on a single bet and I cannot afford that... :)

Scratch tickets are i.m.h.o the rip offs from any national lottery in any country..
I think the chances to win big on that game are nearly zero..
Most I have ever won was €100.00 on a ticket and I bought them in many countries over the years.

So I got stuck now on slots and I really enjoy playing them...

As for other hobbies,I play accoustic guitar,I love movies,I love playing games on my PS3 (can't be bothered yet to buy a PS4) :) and I play World of Warcraft online...
Also spend a lot of time with my wife and kids and I have a 40h a week job...

So when I am bored playing slots there is always plenty other stuff to do for me...

Anyway hope you can find something else to enjoy.
If you have no money issues, why not travel the world and go see things.
I know I would do a trip around the world if I had that amount of cash to spare. :D

Regards,

Mark.

I find too doing too much of anything can cause it to be less fun. A few years ago on my birthday I got all sorts of free chips - some of them I busted out on and others I had won but then had to make playthrough. I played pretty well non-stop for about 4 days and honestly I was just sick of playing when I was done. I can't imagine playing every day for months or years.

I think you need a break - maybe set yourself one day a week (or every 2 weeks) to gamble and the rest of the time do something else. If you've got lots of money, maybe you could find something else to do with it - something that will make you happy - or better yet, something that will make someone else happy. Like me. :D Sorry couldn't resist.

But seriously though here's an idea: You could look into a place like kiva.org that hooks up people with microloans - the money you'd spend in one day of gambling that isn't even fun could help multiple people start or invest in a business and improve their lives. Unlike gambling, you'd eventually get the money back...and in the meantime you'd be doing a lot of real good helping other people - that's sometimes a lot of fun too!

One thing that makes me bored is knowing the odds.
They are even mapping slot reels now so you know the return.

Not knowing odds makes gambling more mysterious. The mystery is lost once you know exactly what you are doing.

Gambling is good for elderly people who visit places like Vegas because it's all magic to them.

They explain this idea great.

ICP: F&*@ing magnets how do they work?

I don't get bored with it often, or for long.

Like Chayton, I did have a stretch for a few days after my birthday where I didn't play just because I had played sooo much. I like that online I can leave for a bit and come back later. A few years ago I had a hard time leaving even $20 until the next day to finish up, even if I was almost battling falling asleep at the keyboard.

I'll agree somewhat with Petro that knowing the odds decreases my enjoyment somewhat. It is one of the reasons that roulette and blackjack hold little appeal. For slots, since there are soooo many possible combinations, while I might know TRTP, I have no real idea of how a particular spin or session will go.

Even when I am in a position to deposit for several days in a row, my deposits are usually small enough I don't have enough playtime to become bored.

It is a rare night that what is on the TV is more entertaining than firing up my favourite slots.
